It will be interesting to see how the trades play out.My wild speculation is that they'll trade up with the Steelers to draft Booker (maybe 25 and 89 for 21 and 123 or next year's 3rd), for all the reasons you mentioned. Plus he's a Bama guy (Demeco likes Bama guys and NC loves guys from big programs) and he should be a good fit for Caley's offense if it's a Rams style offense.
I am glad to hear that. I think Nick will be able to go that route and still have some needs addressed.Nick stated on 610 (via a press conference) that the team will take BPA and will not be reaching for any particular player.
But, in his case, he doesn’t travel well next level and would limit Caley playcalling with this OL room.I do agree with the second sentence. This is why Booker is their top target imho. I don’t know that is the case, but he’s as swarm as can be and loves football.
The Rams had those kinds of guys at guard. Steve Avila is listed at 6'3", 338 lbs. Kevin Dotson is 6'4", 330 lbs. Their centers are about 20-30 lbs lighter. The prospects in this draft that would fit the guard mold are Tyler Booker, Donovan Jackson, Jonah Savaiinaea, and Tate Ratledge. The centers that fit the mold are Grey Zabel and Jonah Monheim.Everyone is saying that we don't know what style offense we are going to run. However, take it back a few weeks. And the team (Nick, Meco and Caley) all but explained it.
Lots of motion pre snap. Straight up blocking, with some ZBS. And a pretty balanced attack of run and pass...with RBs also being a big part of the passing game on screens and wheels.
So, to me that's why our OL weight has gone up with FAs we signed. And all have quick feet. Nimble and larger blockers.
But, in his case, he doesn’t travel well next level and would limit Caley playcalling with this OL room.
Also all this mis-direction, reach of Donovan Jackson @ #25 (like he’s going to replace Cam year two LT crap). Gives me Tytus Howard vibes![]()

And guard is known as a faster or quicker position than tackle. Can Banks Excel there? Probably. But putting Banks and Jackson next to each other would be something else.Tytus Howard was a reach from the get-go. I never saw any value in him at all outside of being a turnstile.
Donovan Jackson has succeeded at the highest level of CFB. Recognized as one of the best pure LG’s in the draft. He also shifted to LT this past season and held the position in place at a high enough level for the Buckeyes to win the Championship. Jackson is ready Day1 to play LG in the NFL.
Banks would have to learn the nuances of playing inside as LG. How long that curve would be….I don’t know, but I’d be much more relieved knowing Jackson has these nuances in his back pocket.
Or draft Conerly and Higgins and Kyle Williams then air bomb 'em. A good running back Mixon 4.1 yards. A good WR Nico 14.8.Now hear me out. Draft Booker and Skattebo and pound opposing defenses to death with dual backs.
As long as we're destroying the opposing defense's will to live, I'm not picky. And guard is known as a faster or quicker position than tackle. Can Banks Excel there? Probably. But putting Banks and Jackson next to each other would be something else.

Hopefully we will do both!As long as we're destroying the opposing defense's will to live, I'm not picky.
Edwards would be better and according to the combine he is faster and more explosive (and possibly stronger)Now hear me out. Draft Booker and Skattebo and pound opposing defenses to death with dual backs.

Did he put his team on his back and will them to the CFB playoffs?
I would not want to have to stop Jeanty twice a yearJeremiah’s final mock has Houston taking Tyler Booker. Kelvin Banks went 6 to the Raiders.
The guy had Banks ranked as his #31 prospect last week. Urgh.Kelvin Banks went 6 to the Raiders.

DJ drew upon the Carroll-Sarkisian relationship. Makes sense when you think about it. I wonder if Kolton Miller would be on the market?Yep. Makes me think he’s hearing things from sources about where the tackles in this class are ranked.
Mcshay also had Banks going 6 to the Raiders in his mock draft released today:
Does he have a special trait? If not pass. No, new system, new HC, new QB. However, they still managed a good record even though all that. At 8-5. And his stats were good. He was playing part time along with other RBs. Meaning he has more tread left on the tires. This was a basic ride with the hot hand and not many carries per game. Mullings was the lead back as they tried to run power most games. I would take him too. But, of the 2 Mullings is a 4.6 40 Edwards is 4.4 and has better combine numbers

Michigan RB Edwards?Who? Edwards is a RB. Unless you are talking about the new QB at Michigan. Who I pretty much only saw throw.
He's a RB, he powers through tackles, cuts around them or just out runs people. He is basically a large version of the 2 OSU RBs coming outMichigan RB Edwards?
If you want a swarm RB, get Cam Skataboo. He’ll run your ass plum over. I’m just not sure how he will hold up physically.
I think he'll be fine as part of a platoon. Keep his carries around 10-15 a game and let Mixon get another 15-20. Maybe he can carry a heavy workload in a few years, but I like the idea of splitting carries between him and a home run hitter like the Lions do with Gibbs and Montgomery. If you want a swarm RB, get Cam Skataboo. I don't understand the point of this trade pre-draft, but I'm sure all will be revealed:

Hmm...I thought #247 was the last pick? So what is #255?This trade was made to set the table for trades during the draft. Riverboat Nick is going to maneuver and now he has more chips to deal.
