Watson cant play football

Deshaun Watson makes a strong statement after Jimmy Haslam’s ‘big swing and a miss’ remark

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Deshaun Watson made a strong statement on Instagram Tuesday, a day after Jimmy Haslam’s “big swing and a miss” comment went viral on social media.

“Maybe, If I weren’t built for this, I’d let it phase me…” Watson wrote, accompanied by Rod Wave’s “Shock Da World.”

The post featured 20 photos of Watson — still wearing his right walking boot — working out hard at the Browns’ practice facility in Berea to come back from his re-ruptured Achilles, which was repaired again in January. While he’ll miss a significant chunk of the season and may never suit up for the Browns again, Watson is determined to return to the game after his second Achilles surgery since November.

His agent, David Mulugheta, responded to Watson’s post: “They hate you, then they love you then they hate you again. That’s why you never live for the applause. Lock in 4!”

The post came a day after Haslam, speaking to a small group of Browns beat writers including cleveland.com at the NFL Annual Meeting in Palm Beach, Florida, admitted that the Watson trade with the Texans was an epic fail. THE REST OF THE STORY
Confirmation that David from parts unspoken around here is a POS.

As piss-poor as the Roughnecks are, Watson could come back and try to find some success with them. He could focus on football b/c he’s not getting paid enough to have other interest….and he has Jilly to take care of the deep fisted anal messages that relaxes him between games.

Watson had Jilly during the time that he was "partaking" from many other females. It's only a matter of time before gets bored with only one receptacle.

Deshaun Watson: I’ll be back way better than before

Browns owner Jimmy Haslam wrote off quarterback Deshaun Watson recently, but Watson isn’t writing himself off.

Haslam called the trade for Watson “a big swing and miss” after three seasons that have featured mediocre play when Watson has been healthy. He’s not healthy right now due to a torn Achilles that is likely to keep him off of the field for the entire 2025 season and the overall state of affairs has led some to wonder if Watson will ever play again.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Watson says he does plan to get back on the field. The video shows Watson working out while he provides narration about how being in a position where his “back is against the wall” is one that sets him up for a triumphant return.

“Everyone is doubting me.” Watson said.Everyone don’t believe in me, Everyone don’t think I can get back to where I was. But I know, and I believe the work that I put in, that I believe in myself. The peace that I’ve been channelling the last couple of months. I know, I’m gonna be way better than before.”

Watson’s issues with performance and health have been going on long enough that it would be almost impossible not to doubt his ability to be a top-flight quarterback again. In a league short on them, he’ll likely get a look from someone but it’s unclear when and where that might take place.

Is getting a couple of fingers in your bunghole considered getting work in? What's your medical opinion? Asking for a friend.

Well I’m absolutely shocked….how in the hail did he convince the Practitioner to use 2 fingers versus 1? Man, could you imagine the effort needed if the thumb was thrown in for good measure?

Eating crow for Haslams..............needle in the eye for Watson....................same ole same ole for the Browns..............

With $3 million guaranteed for Joe Flacco, the Browns aren’t necessarily done at quarterback
April 11, 2025 10:15 AM

In the NFL, money always talks. And the key for any contract is the full guarantee at signing.

The initial report regarding the Joe Flacco contract in Cleveland called it a one-year, $4 million base deal. The guarantee wasn’t specified.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Flacco’s full guarantee at signing is $3 million.

With Kenny Pickett at $2,623,350 (fully guaranteed) and Deshaun Watson at $46 million (fully guaranteed), that’s $51.623 million in cash commitments to Cleveland quarterbacks for 2025.

That doesn’t necessarily knock them out of the conversation for another quarterback in the draft. They still need three on the active depth chart (Watson likely won’t be one of them), and a rookie would come at a low cost, relative to a veteran.

At this point, it’s unlikely the Browns will take a quarterback with the second overall pick. They could take a quarterback with their second-round pick, or they could trade back into the bottom of round one. Or they could draft one in any other round.

Then there’s the possibility that Flacco or Pickett could be traded, if they make another move at the position. After the draft, there might still be needs elsewhere. And the Browns could flip either guy, if they decide they have a crowded house at the position.

The biggest problem in Cleveland is the elephant in the room. Deshaun Watson’s albatross of a contract makes it challenging, to say the least, to address the most important position on the team. While they’re doing their best to whip up a batch of elephant salad, Browns fans have to feel like they’re stuck in a perpetual pile of elephant ****.

I'll sure be glad when this crap and the childish behavior goes away
Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.

He's getting all of the consternation he deserves
I'm sure he reads this forum daily and gnashes his teeth and pulls out his hair
I'm sure that you know that I don't care

I previously predicted that if Watson's insurance policy had any chance of reimbursing the Browns if he didn't play.....................he would not play in 2025..............even though with his recent injury, he should be rehabbed for near the beginning of the 2025 season. For a non-QB, this re-rupture could definitely be a catastrophic happening. For a QB, not so much, unless he relies mostly on scrambling/running instead of arm skills and good decision-making. No doubt, with the insurance policy and how it can be applied, there will be a cozy "collaboration" of Watson and the Browns, especially since Haslam has all but guaranteed that Watson will not see the field for the Browns again.

Deshaun Watson insurance policy provides silver lining for Browns
By Mike Florio
Published April 12, 2025 07:36 AM

The Browns have finally admitted that the Deshaun Watson contract was a disaster. Within the perpetual storm cloud is a silver lining, however.

The contract, a copy of which PFT has obtained, contains an insurance addendum that allows the Browns to purchase coverage “in the event player is unable to perform the services required by his NFL Player Contract due to an NFL football-related or non-football related injury or death resulting therefrom.”

For an injury occurring between the start of the 2024 offseason program and the start of the 2025 offseason program, the contract allows for $58.176 million to be recovered by the Browns.

The formula is as follows: $12.691 million in 2024 signing bonus; $1.21 million in 2024 base salary; and $44.274 million of $46 million in 2025 base salary.

Watson suffered a torn Achilles in Week 7 of the 2024 season. If the insurance is based on the portion of the season Watson played, they’d presumably get all of the $12.691 million from the 2024 signing bonus (which was more than $40 million), less than half of his $1.21 million 2024 base salary, and (if as expected he doesn’t play in 2025) $44.274 million for 2025.

It’s more than $55 million of the $230 million albatross contract. Which will reduce the salary-cap pain. Given that $135 million of the $230 million deal has yet to hit the cap, that’ll make a huge difference for the Browns in the coming years.

If, that is, they actually collect on the policy. Insurance companies love taking money in. They hate paying money out. And with more than $55 million on the line, the insurance company’s lawyers will be scouring the policy for any and all exceptions or exclusions that would justify a denial.

This is something that was always felt to be the case, but no one in the Browns would acknowledge it..............now, Watson for the first time will have to "EARN" his way back.............highly unlikely to happen.

And the team’s recent decision to ink Joe Flacco exemplified perfectly both the pivot the Browns are making under center and precisely what that pivot means for Watson.

“For what it’s worth, Flacco’s popularity in the locker room and performance under Kevin Stefanski in 2023 was a big factor in the team walking away from him last year. The Browns felt like they had to clear the decks to give Watson the best chance. So Flacco’s return is further confirmation of what we already know,” Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated wrote on Tuesday, April 14. “If Watson’s going to revive his career, it will have to happen on different terms than he’s been used to. He’ll have to work his way up the depth chart without a recruiting ranking or his draft position buoying his candidacy.” LINK

I don't know what kind of games the Browns are trying to play. Watson post secondary Achilles repair should certainly be ready to play by around the beginning of Sept. If he is not ready by then, it is because the Browns don't want him playing. Of course unlike what Watson is saying, if he does manage to return, his performance will be more compromised than what it was prior to his injuries. Is Berry trying to get someone to trade with the Browns? :chef:

Browns GM Andrew Berry: Too early to say if Deshaun Watson can play in 2025
By Michael David Smith
Published April 17, 2025 04:23 PM

The Browns have acknowledged that the decision to trade for quarterback Deshaun Watson was a big miss, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s done playing in Cleveland.

Cleveland General Manager Andrew Berry said today that Watson is working on rehabbing his twice-torn Achilles tendon and that the Browns don’t yet know whether he can play at all in the 2025 season.

“It’s too early to say,” Berry said. “I can say Deshaun has done a great job of rehabbing. He’s been in every day. He’s progressing and that’s really our focus, but it’s too early to say.”

If Watson does get cleared to play, the Browns may just decide not to play him because he has played so poorly since the
Browns traded for him three years ago. But they’re not yet ready to rule out a return of the player whose acquisition may go down as the worst trade in NFL history.

Flacco had one of his freaky streaky amazing seasons a couple of years ago.

But does anyone think Flacco is going to set the bar for the Browns QB position?

If they don't draft a guy day 1 or 2 of the draft, they're still playing Watson's game & "saying the right things."

If I were a Browns fan this Flacco thing would be a slap in the face.

I don't believe Flacco is the Brown's answer............but I do believe he is better than Watson.

Kenny Pickett anyone?

I could see the Browns drafting Hunter and trading back into the bottom of the 1st for Sanders. (Hopefully with the Texans.)

Browns’ signing of Joe Flacco marks a complete rejection of last year’s failed strategy, Terry Pluto says

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Joe Flacco signing by the Browns isn’t just about quarterback depth – it’s a complete organizational admission of the Deshaun Watson disaster, Terry Pluto said on the latest episode of the “Terry’s Talkin’” podcast.

“Well, let’s start with the deeper meaning first. What it meant was again, continue repudiation of the Watson era. This is really about that,” Pluto said.

The Browns’ return to Flacco represents a reversal from last season’s catastrophic decision-making. After watching a team with four different quarterbacks win 11 games in 2023, Cleveland dismantled a functional offense to accommodate Watson’s play style, Pluto said.

“You took a team that was with four different quarterbacks and won 11 games that was 10th in scoring, and you ripped up the whole coaching staff and you ripped up the whole way you did offense because you’re trying to salvage something from Watson,” Pluto explained.

The result? A disastrous 3-14 season and a complete offensive collapse, plummeting from 10th to 32nd in scoring.

“Why did we break something that was not broken? And why do we why did we try to fix something that was already fixed?” Pluto said. “If you’re 10th in scoring, you’re set.”
THE REST OF THE STORY

I'm predicting Deshaun Watson & Shedeur Sanders will get into a physical altercation before the season starts.

The Browns, where QBs go to rot:
Watson the butt master and now...Sandersbthe "My dad is cooler than yours"

I feel bad for the rest of the team lol
