A false start is not a drive killer... unless they're back to back like that one time. But that's fine.First, Tunsil was a drive killer with his league high penalty count. He personally took the run out of consideration by adding yardage to many plays. That led to more blitzes. Maybe not to the extent of the Chiefs Jawaan Taylor, but Tunsil had a tell by rocking back on his heels on passing downs. And he was an average run blocker at best. Hell, even Kenyon Green had some pancake blocks on runs.
Basically, Tunsil often turned the Texans offense one dimensional by himself. I couldn't care less what the PFF graders say. Tunsil was no longer an All Pro LT. He had his worst season as a Texan in 2024. When a guy regresses and no longer earns a high salary, he is replaced in the NFL. There was no reason for the Texans to think Tunsil would have a bounce back season. So they cut bait. Happens all over the league.
Your "football reasons" are highly subjective & if that's what the Texans think... yeah, there was a football reason to trade your best lineman. Probowl or not.
They decided to go a different way, no more a football reason than Duane Brown. & theirs nothing wrong with that.
