Haven’t decided myself yet? PFF RB rankings have been updated higher recently, Scattebo goes well before Texans pick so probably nothing to worry about. Kinda intrigued with Ollie Gordon II Oklahoma State. Late round steal.

Seems a round early, but I like him. Skattebo looks like a guy that can do it all. Catch, block, short yardage. A top notch RB2.

Skattebo is nice, but he’s got FB speed versus TB speed. He’s projected as a 4.6-4.7 40 guy, which he got by in college, but may find the production much harder to come by in the NFL.

Dylan Sampson on the other hand is coming off being the top RB in the SEC and could hit 40 time trials in the neighborhood of 4.19 to 4.37 seconds. If he’s hitting those numbers at the Combine, good chance the Texans would probably need to throw a RD2-058 pick at him….provided he’s still on the board.

More like a pain in the neck. 2nd is too high for a RB when you have a Joe Mixon.

If it came down to a footrace, I would take Sampson. Can Sampson catch, though? Can he pickup a blitzer or break a tackle on 3rd &1 and pickup a 1st down? That's the difference between the NFL and the SEC.

Sampson amassed 1,491 yards on 258 carries….that’s a 5.8 YPC average while running for 22 TD’s. He had 20 receptions for 143 yards and a 7.3 yard average. His catching game was nicer in 2023 when he averaged 10.3 yards per catch. He’s a solid blocker who will only get better since he doesn’t fear doing the job. Like a mentioned, a couple of seasons with Mixon could make him pretty special.

How old is Mixon? Two years left on contract? He’s not immune to injury.
