Who do you want as the new OC?

It’s a beautiful Sunday and you are worried about proof reading. Go outside get some sun!
I'm not worried about proof reading slick! I was just giving a possible explanation to why Porky may have answered you as he did newbie. You're off to a flying start of getting along.

Haha I’m just kidding man. On a real note, if you’re GM who are you hiring as OC?

My current preference list is

Stenavich -WC
Brian Johnson - Spread
Calen - WC
Nixon - spread

Not interested in anyone else thst we know about or interviewed. Calen and Johnson are neck and neck for me but Johnson eeks out the #2 spot due to playcalling experience.

I’d take Josh Jacobs, Tucker Kraft & any 1 of their 3 WR’s in a #2 spot in a heartbeat over Schultz, Mixon and Dell/Hutchison or Metchie.

I like Mixon, just not better than Jacobs

To be fair… Porky is the one who messed up the wording.

It's my stupid iPad. At home, I'm on my iPad more than anything else and it insists on spell-checking and changing stuff I type - usually not what I want it to spell. It's horrible on names, it tries to spell a word. It's a name you numbskull! I holler at it frequently! That was the case here. I spelled personnel - but it changed it to personal and I didn't catch it.

I completely get it and feel the same pain!

Lololol.

NorthMSreb had written personal before I commented and then he went back and changed it.

A boatlaod of cash, living in Vegas and a HC who is one of the oldest in the NFL?

If Chip can fix that shitshow of an offense he proably walks into the HC office in a couple of years
It's rare that a coach succeed another more than on an interim basis.

Far as I know the Texans have not reached out to him, so he's probably not choosing sin city over space city

If the Raiders make a big leap on offense in 2025. And the Texans do not…it could be the downfall of the current regime.

If it's true about Kelly considering he was seen at the airport, I can understand. Good situation at OSU just having won the National Championship. But both he and Pederson are probably more interested in HC jobs than being coordinators. I was all in on Kelly. I'll be fine with whoever they hire, provided we see some results. If **** still stinks next season, then it's on Demeco and Nick, and potentially CJ. The problem with blaming CJ is that you can easily fire a coach and find another one. You can't just go and find a QB of CJ's quality... And I think any reasonable person would agree, CJ is the best/most talented QB this franchise has ever had. We really don't want to f'k it up with him...
Update?

Stenavich -WC - OL coach who was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2022. Make no mistake Matt LaFleur runs that offense in Green Bay

Brian Johnson - Spread - Mixed on him, his NFL stints are related to gifted QBs who can motor. When he was let go by the Eagles, the players felt the same way I assume our players felt about Slowik. The Commanders offense is driven by Kingsbury, don't know what influence Johnson has there

Calen - WC - I have an unfair bias against him just because he was with the Patriots and we all know what made that offense go and what happened afterwards. He has 2 years with McVay as a TE coach but McVay's other decent disciples have been OCs at some point prior to their success

Nixon - spread - IMO a wildcard, a decent first year as an OC at the collegiate level at Syracuse. His QB was an Ohio St starter who transferred and was coming off an 11-1 season in the Big 10

None of those give me a warm fuzzy but whomever is hired I'll get onboard

Irregardless of how the Texans fit into all that I think it would be pretty wild if the Raiders took a huge offensive jump. Maybe they can build up a run game or have the 1 in a billion chance of hitting on a QB in this draft without a high pick in a weak QB draft. I just don't see how they do anything with those pieces.

I also would not at all fire Caserio or Ryans. That would be pretty crazy honestly.

Yeah porky is being a little dramatic

Chip Kelly was never interested in staying in college. Our QB might not be a someone easy to coach. Hence why we still don’t have an OC.
Not sure what that word salad means, but yeah, Chip got hired in Vegas. Good for him. Was he one of the people you wanted as OC? I couldn't get a name out of you no matter how many times I tried. Regardless, the Texans never interviewed him, so they must have been looking elsewhere.

..and you're still b!tching...

Chip Kelly no the entire NFL as OC is truth we know at the moment.

Can't imagine Demeco is getting paid less than $5 mil/year. That's what McCarthy was reportedly paid in Dallas, and Jerry is super cheap paying his HC's...
It's being reported that the Raiders are making Kelly the highest paid assistant coach in the NFL. 6 million per year, 3 times his salary at OSU.

That's a fat sack of cash

Folks really had the nerve to tell me and actually think Chip Kelly had no interest in the NFL…….

That's a lot more than Demeco is getting
DeMeco Ryans earns approximately $4 million annually, courtesy of his six-year contract with the Houston Texans valued at $28 million. At just 39 years old, he has already positioned himself as one of the highest-paid coaches in the league. With his rapid trajectory, there’s little doubt that DeMeco Ryans is poised to solidify his status as one of the top coaches in the coming years. Ryans, due to his various commercial deals with companies such as Nike and BodyArmor, boasts a net worth of around $33 million, as of 2023.

Ryans will reportedly make $28 million over the length of the deal, meaning he is earning $4.6 million annually.

For comparison, the highest-paid head coaches in the NFL are Kansas City Chiefs HC Andy Reid ($18 million), Los Angeles Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh ($16 million), Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay ($14 million), and Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike Tomlin ($12.5 million).

Like all head coaching contracts, Ryans’ deal with the Texans is fully guaranteed. If the team fired him before the contract expired, he would still receive the full payout.

Chip was going to be getting paid handsomely wherever he went. He was not taking a lower offer for CJ Stroud and that actually says a lot.

Same can be said the other way around too. What if Nick did hire Chip Kelly and he turned out to be total shite? Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. I really think Chip Kelly was not Nick/Demeco’s top target. Otherwise, he’d be a Texan.

He would have at least been interviewed...
