This would fix a lot of the issues.

Doubtful Burch falls this far.

They need to sign a guy like Mack Hollins in FA.

I would add CB/S/DT to your list.
I understand but we only have so many picks and these are mine. Also Jahdee Barron from University of Texas is an outstanding corner and can play safety. We are going to have to hit on free agency again in the defense. Burch replaces Autry if he goes elsewhere for $.

I believe Autry is under contract for two more years.

Barron would be a great pick IMHO

I love Milum! I would do exactly what you stated and play him at G and then move him outside for Tunsil’s replacement.

A new direction for the offense whether that's a change in the coaching staff (slowick and co) or players

1) Reckon what value Tunsil could bring .... if any 2) Has anyone voiced anything on Blake Fisher's skill or value
2) We have a ton of young skilled and talented playmakers .... hard to sit and watch their skills erode and fade away into obscurity

Many teams would gladly give up a 1st for Tunsil. Titans/Redskins/Rams/Pats/Chiefs/Raiders/Bears etc...

Who are the players that keep opposing DC"s up at night game planning for? Mixon/Collins/Who else? All of the rest of the skill position guys are nice complimentary players, but not threats to score every time they touch the ball.

Well, Diggs and Schultz .... but when the line is not run blocking or pass blocking .... it becomes very difficult to advance the ball period. I know that you know this Steel, but when any game is on, college or pro, don't look at the scoreboard .... just watch the lines for a couple of plays ..... you'll immediately know who is scoring points.

Diggs is probably done

Schultz needs to be replaced. Do you think he strikes fear into other teams like Kelce, Kittle, Bowers, Andrews etc.... Fact is Caserio needs to add playmakers. This is a big reason I advocated for Caserio to draft Thomas last year. That guy strikes fear into defenses. No WR in this draft class does this. That's why I'm advocating for signing an underrated wr like Melton in FA.

In that case, he may need to move to the offensive line !

By top four rounds I'm going with this.

1) Guard
2) WR
3) OL (guard or tackle)
4) RB
1. OL (I’m leaning towards drafting someone who can play inside, but then finds a home on the outside to replace Tunsil or Howard after a year or 2)
2. RB This class is stacked, so I think we can grab a guy to pair with Mixon.
3. DB We can either add more depth to the CB room or grab a S to pair with Bullock once Ward is done.
4. DT I think we have some good interior DL guys, but we could capitalize on a good class.
5. WR We have a good room, but our offense has had trouble when Nico isn’t in the lineup. It all depends on if the FO wants to see how Metchie/Hutch develop.

I do not think Texans will trade Tunsil but if Raiders were to offer 2.33ish and both of their round threes, I think I would take that deal. Raiders get their quarterback in round 1 + a pro bowl solid left tackle with Tunsil.

Houston
1.22 780 + our round 3. 160 + round 5 trade down Bears 2.40 + 2.42
500 and 480

2.33 LT Wyatt Milum
2.40
2.42
2.54

3.67
3.72

As much as I think IOL is priority #1, I wouldn't draft one in the first unless there was a Q Nelson/Z Martin level guy available, and I don't think there is with this class.

So I'm constantly shifting between OT, DB, WR or TE as a target for the first round; and truthfully unless Loveland or Warren are available I think the team should go OT. Kind of want a "eat your veggies" type draft.

Agree and think Ryans may like what he has seen in Settle; Mario Edwards; Fatukasi and Togai. I can see all returning on cheap deals. Heck, I would not be stunned if Hinish returns as he's only 25.

I’m waiting to see how a few players do in the all star games/practices, but here are 7 guys I’d consider Rd 1 for us.

1. Malachi Starks S- he’s probably going to be gone before we pick, but he’d be amazing to pair with Bullock.
2. Tyler Warren TE & Colston Loveland TE- I don’t know if Caserio will draft a TE in the 1st, but Warren & Loveland are well rounded TE prospects.
3. Josh Simmons OT- he was having a good year before his injury. I’d draft him to develop behind Tunsil.
4. Kenneth Grant DT- big guy for the middle
5. Tyleik Williams DT- physical and agile defender
6. Emeka Egbuka WR- pair Stroud with his college teammate if he passes his medicals

I like the talent at DT this year, especially Grant, but with the success the team has had with lower tier FAs at the position I wonder if why would invest in it like this (same situation as TE).

Right now I think it comes down to OT or WR, unless something really changes

Egbuka was doing great in 2023 before his injury. This year he started off rough but ended pretty well. In my opinion, his stats are only average except for TDS.
I do not see Nick going in first round for wide receiver , TE or DT. I feel confident he will attempt a trade down into second round.

If he can find a trade partner, I think trading down would be great to gain more assets.

LVR will take QB if in top two. Marc Davis will want to make huge strides in draft.. if not with a GM and HC. A top difference maker in WR would please fans as well as a QB. Our pick would establish that. My trade our 1st and 4th for LVR 2nd and lowest round 3 is very good for both teams.

Estimated Picks:

Texans Get
RD2-034 / RD3-065

Raiders Get
RD1-025 / RD4-126

I believe it would get done if:

Texans Get
RD2-033 / RD3-065 / RD5-139 (580+265+37= 882 pts)

Raiders Get
RD1-025 / RD3-089 (720+145= 865 pts)

Hoping Caserio can address needs, via free agency, OG, RB, CB/S. Then draft BPA!

One more year with Schultz and Brevin Jordan returning, see if Stover develops in off season.

Love DT/DE class. Definitely draft another young cornerback, runningback & versatile OG.

Spend the money on Trey Smith and sign guys like Bo Melton/Jordan Lewis/Earnest Johnson on the cheap. Then try to draft

The best LG you can get that preferably can move over to LT in 2026 I like Milum and there's a chance he could fall due to arm length. Then trade up for either Warren/Loveland or Mason Taylor. Whichever one Caserio decides is the best blocker out of the receiving group, even if they have to trade future picks.

I would rather trade down and add picks, unless they really covet specific prospect.

DeMeco gave impression yesterday, didn’t expect Lassiter to still be on the board or Bullock for that matter, but they were. Never mentioned Fisher, so curious about him, hardly ever mentioned, but has chancento upgrade RT onnthe cheap.

I totally get this, but I want the best blocking front 5 that they possibly can get. A TE like Warren who can both block and get down the seams would make this offense look so much better.

My bad, for not being more clear, 3rd day of draft, rounds 4-7.

Texan selection #123 TE Cade Stover, despite Schultz extended & Brevon Jordan break-out (unfortunate season ending injury).

Then RB run began.

Specificly last draft (2024) RB position was ripe, Bucky Irving, #125 Will Shipley #127, Ray Davis, #128, Issac Gurrendo #129, Sione Vaki #132, Braelon Allen #134.

Several good RB prospects in 5th, Audric Estime #147, heard Texans really liked him too, if he had lasted until 6th rd. Jawhar Jordan #205 Audric would be Texsns RB2.

Thats just one recent 3 day pick, decisions have consequences. Can go over picks 7th rounders #238 DE Soloman Byrd, #249 OT/OG LaDarious Henderson. But point is clear, day one & day two (3rd rd. including) have moved this franchise forward, its day 3, thats holding back depth & developing NFL talent.

I understand your point, but I’ll also state that it’s hard to hit on day 3. But he has gotten a few guys.

NC picked Damien Pierce in round 4. He had an excellent rookie season, but then we switched schemes. I think that that is why his production has gone down. Unfortunately I think Pierce would do better on another team with a different scheme.

Henry T has developed into a great LB, and he was picked in the 5th. Plus I think Stover has time to develop since he’s only been playing TE for a few years.

Pardon me, but that is a very underwhelming list of draft hits. Digging deeper into how & why?

Couple things on Caserio watch, dealing with O’Brian leftovers (lack of draft capitol) then two distinctly different coaching agendas (Cully/Smith & Ryans).

2021 Cully - 5th 147 TE Brevin Jordan, LB Garret Wallow, DT Roy Lopez

2022 Smith - 4th 107 RB Dameon Pierce, DE Thomas Booker, TE Teagan Quitoriano, OT Austin Deculus.

2023 Ryans - 4th 109 DE Dylan Horton, LB Henry To’oTo’o, 6th 201 C Jarrett Paterson, 6th 202 WR Xavier Hutchinson, 7th 248 S Brandon Hill.

2024 Ryans - 4th 123 TE Cade Stover, 6th 188 LB Jamal Hill, 6th 205 RB Jawhar Jordan, 7th 238 DE Soloman Byrd, 7th 247 DT Marcus Harris, 7th 249 OG LaDarius Henderson.

What stands out here? Lets discuss....

Hands tied by Watson ordeal until compensation recouped.

System fits, obviously players drafted by better coaching & evaluation (Ryans).

Converting later picks into fewer but higher picks should be optimized to get priority propects of need.
