2024 Fantasy Football - Texans Fan Special

I will look at your team this evening, but there are certain limits to the numbers you can have on IR. It’s not unlimited.
 
Player also has to be legit on IR by his team, to avoid teams using IR as a defacto extra bench.
 
Ok I'm confused. You are the Texas Killas correct? I don't see anyone on IR, much less four players. I don't see any player with a basic injury question on your team, much less IR eligible.

You're going to need to clarify if your still having trouble.

I'm the Hicktown Hillbillies. The problem is that you can only make 4 player changes per week. When you put a player on IR you should be able to replace him regardless of how many moves you have made. So you can keep a full roster

I gotcha. So for example you made 4 waiver claims. Now you are trying to put someone on IR and it is counting it as a 5th transaction and won't let you.

3-0 baby. Only undefeated team left. And I had the 10th pick in the draft, and still kicking y’all’s asses..so far. Let’s see how it plays out. I might have a Tunsil lurking somewhere ready to upend the entire team.

Anyone know who manages 3rd coast hard heads?

He had two guys on bye, and two others ruled out due to injury.

This is an active league with active managers. We want each game to be competitive and for the managers to give it their best shot.

I understand that circumstances can make it hard or even impossible to manage a team for a specific week.

But if that continues, he/she will not get a return invite next year. If this is your team and you're having major life issues that make it challenging to manage your team, please alert me/us. Otherwise, I'll expect you to manage your team going forward proactively.

Yeah, I had a few disappointments and you had some absolute studs! I never would have figured Tampa Bay going off on the Saints like that. I thought that would be a close game

1) thats false
Im not sure what you count as active but i looked at the team every week and made lineup adjustments throughout the season.

2) A year long trip we planned to visit family in the tampa/orlando area was cancelled due to the hurricane so we had a lot of planning to do last second to pivot and also make sure family in the area were ok.

3) I actually did check in on Sunday morning and the only move i could've made was to swap TE's. Regardless of whether i lost by 40 or 100, that was going to be a loss unless i dropped valuable players that would be returning off of injury at some point. Look at my bench. I had 6 total players who didnt play due to injury plus the 2 on bye. There wasnt anyone to sub in.

Sorry about that. That's why I said IIRC, I wasn't positive but knew a couple teams were not very active

Jeffery wasn’t active..a guy I know who loves foor]tball. Actually used to play d-end in college. So it’s was shocking when he let it go to hell, and I reminded him numerous times and told him straight up sorry man, but not inviting you again. Sorry…just busy that’s all. Whatever. Busy Schmizzy!

And looks like we got a very solid answer on the reason why. As stated, if it’s a week or two…get it. **** happens.

So last week I had to play against Burrow and Chase that combined for 90+points and this week I have to play against Barkley who just racked up 33 points.

This is great.

If you look at the timing of the posts I was complaining prior to Hill’s performance.

And I was only half lucky. I chose Hill because of the ancillary points he puts up being the versatile player and because of who he was playing. I was hoping for 15-20 points.

Getting double that was luck. And that’s the gamble.

You got cooked. Bacon-ized.

Yes, I could ask for 13-1 with a bye week letting everyone else sweat out the final three spots...better for me..

On a different note:
That's not including two 8-6 teams breathing down everyone's neck where a win with a strong point total will knock out one losers from week 15.

8-6 team here.

I think the teams 1-3 make it regardless if they lose based on their point value. The team in 4th (@Lucky) has to win. If he loses and the teams in 5 and 6 outscore him (I am only 9 points behind) then we could sneak in to take the 4th spot.

Yep, you and Xopher should both end at 9-6 so no one is really safe

Over the years, I have seen crazier things than some team making up 60-70 points in a single week. I have my eye on you guys.

Been a good league guys. Very competitive! All teams except Santo have had their moments in the sun.

Santo has checked out. He has 3 guys on IR that are not coming back. One is still starting. I get that people lose interest once they see they have no shot. I try to stress that we want competitive folks who at worst, will move guys on bye out, or those who land on IR. Otherwise it can effect the competitivene balance.

In Santos defense, it's tough when you have the first pick but then your 1.1 misses basically the whole season.

It’s not like I got blown out in every game too. Maybe in these last couple of games I did but I kept losing a lot of close ones in the beginning.

Yep, and people scored more against you than any other by a pretty large amount
 
I had a decent team, on paper....Until Richardson "got tired" then benched. Then Cousins crapped the bed a well. Bad luck on those two. Good RB group and WR's...
It was fun, I just hate having to auto draft. and I know its hard to get everyone on the same page for draft day, just bad luck for me

Everyone is invited back if they are interested. I just ask again politely to work your teams, even toward the end and even if you are out of the playoff race. At least enough to ensure you don’t have players on byes or IR starting.

Austin…when is a good day/time for you to draft?

Anytime is good for me really, I am retired! lol But if I remember correctly didn’t we draft right around Labor Day? If I’m mistaken about that I just had prior plans made for the day/time of the draft.

Yeah it was on Saturday Aug. 31 at 3PM

Holiday weekends probably not a good idea
 
I thought the opposite. Many people are off, and have spare time. But I guess it’s also a time when some people travel. Thing is I like to draft after all preseason games are done, and closer to opening day. But I’m open.

What do you guys suggest?

The draft has traditionally been Labor Day weekend. But I would be ok the weekend prior because little happens during the last preseason game.

League manager decides. Good idea to wait until after preseason games.
You can’t make it work for everyone so when the date is set the date is set. No big issue.

it appears that yours truly has lost to the Hillbillies from Hicktown.

I had some good performances, but when Saquon Barkley has his worst game, Najee Harris does nothing, and Butker gets 1.5 points, you're pretty much doomed.

Congrats to the Hicks. If my math is correct, they will finish the reg season in first place. I think Acres Homes might pass me for second, with me in 3rd.

And Lucky looks like he will be bounced from the playoffs by TexansBull.

Five through eight will vie for the best of the rest in a consolation bracket.

For Austin and Santo...better luck next year guys.

For everyone else...good luck in the playoffs and may the best team be victorious!
