Watson cant play football

He has NO say over his own team. None. Zilch. A two time coach of the year. He’s being trotted out and embarrassed like a rookie head coach.

Ok. So... Why not, IDK, resign? I've seen it on here that he'd find a job quickly. Well, why not quit if it's THAT bad?

Stefanski needs to actually have a spine and demand Watson be benched or just resign.
Stefanski is going to stay because he wants to get paid. Even if it means ownership making him play Derrick. Stefanski will get another HC job in the NFL.

To understand the situation, it would be helpful to look at Haslam's previous history starting with Pilot Flying J truck stop criminal investigations as well as his association with the Dixie Mafia. Next review how he has handled his Browns personnel from day 1. Coaches, executives being supported in one breath, then quickly fired in the next with no explanation.

The Browns' Jimmy Haslam era has reportedly been rife with insane back-room controversies

An explosive story detailed all the crazy things that happened with the Browns in recent years

Never taking any responsibility for his own failures...............always someone else's fault.
Pot calling the kettle black:

Browns owner Haslam fires back, says Jackson 'never accepted blame' for losing

And all of his fired head coaches and executives seemingly disappearing in a puff of smoke.............with only a few ever to regain their positions in the NFL again.

First, Haslam doesn’t carry that kind of mafia clout in the NFL owners circle. He’s just a dumbarse owner who can’t get out of his own way in trying to field a winning team.

Second, if he fires Stefanski or he re-signs…..Stefanski will land on his feet in the NFL. Why? He coached the Browns with one arm tied behind his back and evidently a pistol pointed at his forehead. If another owner wants to sign Stefanski, he/she would…..unless Haslam puts a horse head in their bed.

Third, if Haslam doesn’t get his shite together and began building a winning team, the Cleveland fans will abandon him. If Haslam is as big a tough guy as some claim him to be…..he’ll probably have his henchmen waiting outside the stadium to club or kneecap some sense into fans as they leave with their paper bags in hand.

Watson’s been so bad, Fans are actually clamoring for Jameis Winston to start…Jameis frickin’ Winston.

But anyone whose watched them for even a half of football this year know that their issues run much deeper than just Watson. They might legitimately have the worst o-line in the league so its not gonna matter who they have under center..just like it didn’t make 1 iota of difference for the jets last night when they fired Saleh…IOW’s, it’s never just 1 person or 1 thing when you’re as bad as the Browns have been. The whole organization is just an unmitigated disaster.

After his time with the Brown **** stains is over, Watson will likely go somewhere and be a backup for a few years, get his mental together and then resurface as a starter for a team down the road whose in need of a good veteran qb to just not cost them games and play
good solid ball… ala Mike Vick…Geno Smith…Baker Mayfield…...Sam Darnold.

All while the Browns will be busy ruining their latest highly touted 1st round draft pick QB. It’s just what they do.

You’re incorrect. He’s a criminal with a lot of power.

So the question is, why can’t Stefanski do this year what he did last year? Watson was there last year. He played 6 games and went 5-1 as the starter. He wasn’t setting the world on fire, but he wasn’t this bad. The whole aura of the team is just bad and Stefanski is ultimately responsible for that.

My contention is that Stefanski is a bit overrated as a coach much like Matt Nagy was when he was in Chicago. He’ll most definitely land on his feet wherever he winds up, but his scheme/playcalling has now gotten 2 promising and pretty skilled QB’s injured to the point those guys can’t perform and are shells of what they were while playing there. People forget that prior to Baker getting labeled as a malcontent and subsequently being shipped off, Stefanski had that dude out there playing through a torn shoulder labrum and broken bone in his arm..which led to him playing some of the worst ball of his career. Even Dorian Thompson-Robinson in the little time he played last year..out injured due to taking too many big hits in Stefanski’s scheme.

The team is just bad and the o-line in particular is AWFUL. but NOONE has played/coached/GM’ed up to their potential.

Obviously you did not the Pilot Flying J trials, and even the more recent federal bribery investigations. Owners tried to have Haslam ousted. In a separate meeting Haslam apologized to all the other 31 owners for his involvement and had to threaten and pressure all owners to have his removal taken off the table.

how was he able to "threaten" and "pressure" other Billionaires..unless he has info about some of their misdealings as well, he could not credibly do such things..But even if he did, then it makes Haslam look less slimey in a den of snakes. Chances are, all these guys have dirt, Haslam is just the one everyone likes least now that Snyder and Richardson are out that is.

It's called lawsuits........something that 2 sources contemporaneously related to me that the NFL at least at that time had no appetite for.

Haslam having dirt on other owners doesn’t mean he is less slimy.

The Browns have been O’Brien’d!!!!! Looks like the Browns are going to be doing -exactly- the same thing he did. Hopkins, Watt, etc. It’s insane!!!! The Watson effect on these folks is wild.
