2024 AFCSouth

Let's keep track of the division and watch the Texans take it.

This is the divisional thread for the division record.

First game out, the Texans defeated the Colts 29 to 27, the Dolphins beat the Jaguars 20 to 17 and the Bears beat the Titans 24 to 17.

So far, this is how the division looks.

Division, League
Texans 1-0, 1-0
Colts 0-1, 0-1
Jaguars 0-0, 0-1
Titans 0-0, 0-1

The Texans are 1st after the first divisional game.

I might have to check out the highlights to that Bears/Titans game. How did the Bears win with Caleb Williams going 14/29 with 93 yards passing?

Colts @ GB next week. No Jordan Love makes that a much easier game for Indy.

Jax gets a home game against Cleveland. Expect them to win that after seeing what WD40 brought to the table yesterday.

Titans home against the Jets. We’ll see how Jets look tonight but i’ll expect a Rodgers team to beat the Tacks.

And Texans primetime home opener against Chicago. I’m expecting Texans to showcase to the nation that they are legit contenders and have minimal problems against Chicago. Too early in the season for a trap game. W for the Texans!

2024 AFC South Preview: Battle for division will be led by youngest group of QBs in NFL

Now career 8-3 in one score games. Other teams might regress back to .500, but not when Stroud is your QB.

If its Willis, Colts will roll imho. It could be somewhat close at the half, but I think the Colts pull away in the 2nd half.

The Browns have a damn good D. But the offense is a mess, and the Jags have a pretty darn good D as well. I expect neither team to hit 20. First team to 17 wins…if one team even gets there. I’d give the Jags an edge but it’s not like the Browns can’t win.

Let’s see what Rogers looks like tonight. I’m not as high on the Jets as most seem to be. I have them around 8 wins +- 1. Decent but I just am not buying into the magic mushroom man. Even if he’s just fair…Jets do have a fine defense and I’m not buying Levis at all. I think he will be someone’s backup QB sooner rather then later. I’ll favor the Jets as of now.

Titans look like they've got a team. Didn't look too good against the Bears defense... Didn't look too bad either considering it's week 1.

& yeah, I only watched these highlights, didn't get to watch the game.

Jags Dolphins highlights... this game looked like fun. I'm going to look & see if I can catch it on NFLN Replay

Titans' DeAndre Hopkins: Larger role expected Week 2

Hopkins played just 17 snaps in this past Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Bears after being listed as questionable due to a knee injury entering the game. He isn't in danger of missing Sunday's home opener against the Jets, and while it remains to be seen how much Hopkins will be deployed, head coach Brian Callahan is optimistic that the veteran wide receiver will have a larger role, per Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site.

I sure hope the Texans are up for a statement game!!! They need to issue a blowout and put another stake in the Jags season.

Pederson knows his days are numbered. He's trying everything to subtly point the finger at Lawrence for why his team more closely resembles this 1727202722940.png steaming pile of dino doo than an actual football team . Reality is Lawrence just got paid so there's less than 0 alternate realities in which Pederson survives & Lawrence is jettisoned so he may as well get that house on the market.

I was surprised to see that one... it's only season 3... 3 weeks in. I understand they thought a lot of their team when they brought him in & they thought a lot of him. What's really shocking is how much worse it is than when he started. So yeah, the team wasn't what they thought it was when they brought him in & he's not who they thought he was when they hired him.

I think we're seeing the early remnants of them quitting on Pederson. I watched about a qtr. of that game last night and then flipped over to the Bengals/Commanders game. The little i did watch, they looked lifeless/clueless out there on both sides of ball. No energy. Bad body language, just bad. We gotta put these dudes outta their misery next week.

Pederson pointing the finger at the Jags players.

"After the game, coach Doug Pederson was asked if he would consider taking over play-calling from offensive coordinator Press Taylor, who, up to this point, the coach had never actually confirmed was the one selecting the plays."

"For what? I thought he called a great game," Pederson said. "As coaches, we can't go out there and make the plays, right? It's a two-way street. So, you know, you guys can sit here and point the finger all you want and it's fine. Point it right at me. I can take it. OK. I can take it. So whatever you want to ask me, say whatever, write, go ahead."

Here's a coach that knows his days are numbered and is letting everyone know the problem is with the players the GM gave him. You may have noticed how chummy Ryans and Pederson were pre-game. Pederson was the Eagles QB coach during Ryans first season in Philly, 2012. Don't be surprised if Pederson finds his way on the Texans staff, next season.

First off…..why in the hail is Press Taylor an OC? He should’ve been forced into being a DB Coach from the get-go!!!!

Didn’t take long for Levis to throw an interception. Trying to force it in to Hopkins he failed to see the 6'5" 285 DE that dropped into coverage & caught the ball with his knees

No cap

Titans fans have been clamoring for Levi’s to be benched for Rudolph. I don’t think they understand that Rudolph isn’t really an upgrade😂.

Reminds me of the great Ryan Fitzpatrick / Ryan Mallet debates of 2015 lol.

Titans have the best defense but worst offense. I had them pegged for 5 or 6 wins this year. I’m roughly on track.
Titans have given up at least 24 to everyone they've faced but Miami. Miami has the worst offense in the league and put up more against the Titans than they did any other team besides Jackonsville... they scored 13 on the Jags, 12 on the Titans

Miami scored 20 vs JAX, won 20-17.
