Kamari Lassiter

From what I’ve heard about Bullocks size, range and speed won’t he be a tonic? I’m no football guru but Kamari won’t be on an island. There are also two sharks at DE that could hurry an under throw.
Defensive line and occasional DB blitz hopefully will flush 'quail' that end up in interceptions.

Seth Payne said on one of his recent youtube videos that Lassiter has been exclusively right outside CB from what he’s seen in practice. I think that’s good, let the rookie stay on one side of the field until he acclimates to the pro game.

The only issue that will arise is if we get into an Amari Cooper situation where DeMeco wants Stingley to travel with the other team’s top WR. But we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.

I'm confused more about who didn't have a red medical flag than did. Payton Wilson and Johnny Newton did not have red flags? Also, is Joe Milton a suspected serial killer to get the yellow color?
Yellow might equal "caution" or "Do not draft" in this case. Not too common for a label.

Good grief, how did the Giants let that photo leak. That's lifetime bulletin board material for every player they have marked as 'purple/character concerns.'
Speaking of which, I guess Jamal Hill has character concerns? And Jordan, Harris and Henderson have medical concerns for the Giants?

I'm kind of a 'show it to me on the field' type of guy, but I'm impressed with all of the positive talk DeMeco's been giving him. Talk to me 5 games in, and I'll (hopefully) jump on the wagon.

He will get targeted a lot with Sting across from him. Teams will test him early and often. He will likely make great plays and get burnt in equal measure. I doubt he has the measurables to be elite, but I see a very solid starting corner with a few growing pains.

Beyond the top two, the depth is lousy. As long as the top two are healthy, I’m not worried. Big big if! I still feel we add a corner before next Sunday but we shall see.

Hopefully our Safeties won't feel the need to cheat towards run defense, or bite hard on playfakes. Then they'll be able to help our corners out. & if Stingley can lockdown 25 - 33% of the field... even better.

Ryans is counting on Lassiter/Bullock to have big seasons. They should be fine with the Texans pass rush being one of the best in the league. Bullock has really impressed me with his range. His not being a good tackler is very overstated. Dude is very solid. There's a reason Caserio/Ryans traded up to get Bullock.

Put Stingley with Lassiter/Bullock and Petrie in the slot and the secondary should be much improved. If they can stay healthy they will be one of the best secondaries in the NFL, particularly with the pass rush the Texans are going to have. I've still got faith in Okudah being a decent CB when he gets healthy.

Don’t forget about Ward if he stays healthy for 2/3 of the season. Solid dependable vet on the back end.

Bullock’s ceiling is as high as any safety in this year’s draft and he flashed it in preseason. Very excited to see him in this defense.

Not to mention NFC East rivals now have insight to New York's evaluation process and reasoning.

Boneheaded decision to let that leak. They had nothing to gain.

I have some faith on Okudah. Camp reports suggest he is a good depth piece that can start in a pinch. If he is at or near Steven Nelson’s level of play, I’m fine with him. But you go past him…and the pickins get slim really quick. The remaining depth is special teams guys that can fill in here or there if a guy needs a breather.

It doesn't really reveal all that much. Almost everything on that board is public knowledge.

You mentioned it so I'll ask it, what advantage are their NFC East rivals gaining from this exactly? That they think Cole Bishop is a good locker room guy?

This is what is so funny about making anything of this other than maybe a few players got a wake up call. It’s just one more “talking head”. Team GM’s, scouts and coaches have their own egos and beliefs about their own systems and are not glancing at WWTGD.

But he's so slow..

Someone doesn't know how to format a scatter plot. Even if you are trying to emphasize 4th quartile play, 90% of the people looking at this chart are going to read it wrong.
Took me a minute. 1st it was "What the hell am I looking at?" 2nd it was "Who the hell does it this way?"

To be fair, there was plenty of film of him dropping passes, also at the combine. I wasn't expecting him to come up with contested catches - nice surprise to be sure!
I agree. He had not impressed me all that much thus far until last night. I think SteelBTexan posed a great point with teams not throwing his way. It’s why Diggs didn’t get any catches last night. He had the #1 CB in the NFL covering him in Jaylon.

Lassiter looks like an effin’ -steal- right now. He is a definite ballhawk who needs acclimation to the speeds of the NFL.

Texian won't come back until the Texans suck again. Then he'll tell us how he knew it was going to happen.
Hehe, I took a long vacation from this board during the end of the Obrien era. When I came back I saw that I had blocked someone (which is something I almost never do), bet you can guess who it was.

The theme in the secondary is ball skills. When these guys get an opportunity to get there hands on the ball, they don't flubb it like most guys playing in other teams' secondary do. 2 games into the young season and 3 of our 6 main rotation guys back there already have an int. 4 would have 1 if Ward hadn't completely **** the bed on that jump ball Richardson threw up to Pierce in the 1st game. Lassiter's playing well for a rook, but he still at times gets caught with his head in the backfield and that causes him to lose spatial awareness . Once he gets better at those 2 things, he's gonna be a monster.

Very impressed with Kamari. Even if those couple of potential big plays against him were completed hed still be having a good start to the season.

And its coming really soon, but some poor WR is going to catch a ball on some short route in front of him and hes going to cone down hill and destroy them.
