2024 Fantasy Football - Texans Fan Special

Hello fellow Fantasy Football players! Last year we had an exciting year. I was right there, but lost in the end. I believe Acres Homes Texans took home the trophy!

We had 9 active and engaged owners. I've removed Jeffery from the league, who was not active. That leaves us with myself and 8 other returning owners. I'll list the other 8 owners below. At this time, the assumption is for all 8 of you to return.

I'll also be sending email invites to these owners. But if any of you don't want to be part of the league this year, please let me know. Once we know how many openings there may be, I'll open it up to newbies. We'll need one for sure.

At this time, it's still a free league. Let me know if there is any desire to make this a paid prize league. Most people can come up with a $20 bill, and it tends to make it even more competitive, but I'll leave that to majority rule.

Lastly, I have a tentative live draft date of Saturday, Aug. 31, at 3 PM central. I am flexible, so let me know if this is a good day/time for all of you. Like all of it - it's majority rule. I'd like to get this firmed up within a week or two.

Thanks Lucky! I've just emailed you and the other 7 owners. So, I assume you're a 2024 player, and I know I am. I also removed Jeffery. That leaves one opening for a new team and seven unknowns. I need to hear from the other 7 owners by Aug 17. The sooner I hear from all of you, the better, so I can open it up to new players, but no later than 8/17. If you haven't declared yourself a yes...or no for this year by 8/17, your team will be removed on Aug 18. And then we'll open it up to new players.

We don't want any non-competitive teams, owners who start off bad and quit, or absentee owners. We want engaged players and great competition with folks willing to go down with the ship kicking and screaming until the end. That's what makes for a very fun league and a true champion!

To be fair and consistent to those that played last year, let's keep this a free league strictly for bragging rights.

Although I enjoy a small wager to keep things interesting, it didn't seem fair to the folks who joined free last year.

Also, the live draft date is Saturday, Aug. 31, at 3 PM central. Is everyone okay with that? Anyone got a major conflict? If so, are you okay auto-drafting? I want to accommodate as many live drafters as possible to make it more interesting.

I thought it was some other year with an autodraft miracle. Either way autodraft is not a death sentence if you clean up the mess autodraft makes in the later rounds

Assuming he signs up this week, we're locked and loaded.

This is the time to review your team and the scoring setup (unchanged from last year) and to prepare by maybe doing a few mock drafts.

If you plan to draft live, it's 8/31 at 3 PM. If you plan to auto-draft, I suggest changing your player ratings to suit your priorities.

I’m going to do a better job of setting up my rankings and try to follow it. I just want yahoo to like my draft.

You need to edit your rankings. Go to the draft button and pull down to pre-draft rankings. Once you click there you can see an edit my rankings button

I’m not sure what you mean. I put Puka on IR in another league and back-filled his spot with a free agent. You can do the same.
