Texans vs Cardinals Post Game: Ugly Win and I’ll Take it!!

Whatever.

I thought this board would be more enjoyable when the Texans started winning again but with the (unchecked) talk about dog whistles and racism, people taking things so literal, people arguing semantics, and people being defensive by someone presenting facts (the Cardinals aren't a good team by any meaningful measurement, I don't care what anyone says, and the Texans played down to the competition...again) it's gotten more annoying.

It's actually a good position for the Texans to be in, playing down to the level of their opponents hasn't been possible in awhile. And then finding a way to hang on? I thought that was a compliment. How wrong I was. Thou shalt not say anything even remotely critical about the Texans. So ******* annoying.
I mentioned nothing about other parts of your post.

I merely pointed out what he (SB) actually said.

I don’t think this was a particularly ‘ugly’ win. Our offense was marching downfield at will throughout, the first INT into the end zone looked a genuinely bad decision, the 2nd INT was tipped through the hands of the receiver (under pressure from the DB) the 3rd a jumped route but down and distance gives a little mitigation to that throw. Also the street FA kicker missed one today. That’s at least 17, maybe 24 points left on the table today that Stroud and the O had done the legwork for. Better to be learning those lessons in a win than otherwise.

Had a telling glimpse at the ghost of Christmas past with Mills’ cameo too, sort of wafted one towards the LOS for a 2 yard game. Don’t think CJ will be coming under pressure for his starting job any time soon.

I called it ugly because of all the mistakes we had that could’ve cost us this win. We kept shooting ourselves in the foot. This should’ve been another 30+ score as well as a blowout.

I like the fact that we can say Stingley played well with an interception and WAJr played well with a sack in the same sentence about the same game.

The best thing that complement Stroud is a top tier defense. He will make the offense better but since he doesn’t play defense the team needs playmakers on that side. Especially if the offense doesn’t convert on three red zone trips.

Someone mentioned in the game thread that maybe Stingley is going to get burned for an awful play once or twice a game but shut it down the rest of the game, I still think he has some rust to knock off and that his injury issues have meant he’s got a lot of development still ahead of him, hopefully he can stay healthy, but that wouldn’t be worst case scenario if it comes to pass because you can win with that and he won’t have the hype to reset the market at his position come contract time.

Actually, he never said or predicted that thw Texans would win 10 games.

He predicted 6 wins.

He said that the Texans "should" win 10, but because of Stroud; they will only win 6.

Big difference.
That’s right but he did change it to 10 weeks after saying 6 at first.

So just a regular day here at Texans Talk?
Regular day on the internet, more like.

Back to the game. I liked how tight the pass coverage was today. So far this season it's looked to me like the weak link of the defense because opposing quarterbacks keep finding open receivers when our d-line has them under pressure. I didn't see a whole lot of that today. Hopefully that means our defensive backs have found something that works that they can keep doing for the rest of the season.

And he wasn’t the only one who predicted 10 wins either. But I knew a few would try to give him all the credit. Lol typical

LMAO that anyone would take that 10-game prediction seriously. It was another SteelB rabbit hole. The prediction was based on setting up a narrative that if the Texans didn't win 10 games, it was going to be the Stroud's fault and his S2 score.

Where in the prediction did it take into account that the defense was going to blow multiple games or give up 21 PPG or Anderson would have only 3 sacks or the offense would be the strength of the team? It was all based on blaming Stroud for not winning 10 games.

I don't know if it has been mentioned, Stingley had a good game today. Was it his best game as a pro?

Apparently, Parcels was wrong. The Cardinals are 2-9, which is way below .500 but they're obviously better than their record.

Panthers beat the Texans. Are they better than their record? The Cardinals got 3 turnovers, benefited from a missed FG and a turnover on downs in the red zone, and still lost. They’re exactly what their record says.

True, it's been a while.

Still, I don't think we know who the Texans are yet. & I know we don't know who the Cardinals are. They're a different team with Kyler Murray playing. He might not be an NFL QB, but he makes things happen. If the defense do their job, they'll be in a bunch of games.

I never thought the Texans would need one since they drafted Stroud.
His college game tapes definitely showed that he can find the open guys.
Brady made it work with castoffs, but that season when they gave him a HOF wr, he went on to break the TD passing record. Manning had a good one as well. I would still try to get MHjr, but it seems we’re picking in the late teens upper 20s in the next draft.

I really like them uniforms.

Cardinals are now a .500 team with Murray as their QB this year and one of their wins was against a team that beat the Texans.

Who were the others?

I'm sure there were others. What I said was avg to slightly above avg and Stroud has been way beyond my expectations good. The fact that he's still a rookie showed today. He will learn from this and it sure is great to be talking about this after a win.

To be fair, that was before the season started. I don’t give a crap what anyone says, no one knew CJ would be this good. Those that say otherwise are overflowing with sh*t.

Jesus so if you predicted him to be good, you’re full of crap. So what does that say about those who predicted him not to be good? Does that make them full of crap too?
No, it just means they were wrong. They’re watching the same games we all are, so they’re aware that they thought wrong. By the way I’m only talking about the ones that keep the “I was right and you were wrong” threads and posts going to stir the pot. Don’t take it personally.

Who is beating their chest and saying they were right though? I have not seen anyone come on here saying I told you so. And guess what I said CJ will be special. But no one predicted he would shine this early. And a lot of jokers said he’s another Ohio State quarterback who will not amount to anything but a bust. So technically that should classify them as full of crap. Because, because they would’ve been the ones pounding their chest and saying I told you so.

And why are you saying don’t take it personal? Where did that come from?
