Overall, I agree.
The question should be was he a good prospect coming out of the draft, has he improved since, why or why not?
If you answer those questions & think his best days are ahead of him & he's got just as much potential as anyone in the draft, then you move forward with him. While we all have our opinions, they probably don't match up with the Texans as we were not privy to the meetings & practices. So we don't know how all those other factors affected Mills, the prospect.
All those factors, however, will affect this team regardless who the QB is so we need to make sure we address those (as the Texans) as well.
Personally I couldn't care less if Mills stays or don't, if he's our starter, or not. I'm more concerned with the issues that have plagued this team from day one. Something isn't right to carry these problems from regime to regime, even from owner to owner, more or less.
