Carolina to draft #1

At least it's not Indy. This now makes #2 the most valuable trade commodity.
Most of all this trade informs us Texans' fans/supporters that Nick & Demeco did not have a QB in this Draft that they really wanted bad, else they would've cut a deal with ChiTown.
Now the Texans effectively have the #1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. I dunno do they want to use it or trade it ?

or they gambled their QB would not be taken in a trade. This is a check mark in positive column for Caserio. Long way to go yet.

Raiders will do then!
Perhaps and they could make a similar deal as Panthers but I just cannot see it. I just reviewed roster for vets I want but Josh Jacobs on 5th year at $10 m and then? Crosby I've wanted since drafted but man he will cost. Same with Davonta Adams good but age/cap high. You can use DA for 2 seasons reasonable cap then cut but eat about $16.

I am looking at a similar deal with Falcons who should be under as much pressure as Tepper was. Just quick thought without much research for a possibly similar deal.

Atl gets 1.2 jumping LVR and Colts who should realize Washington could be looking.

Texans get 1.8 (9 Panthers) + 2.45 (61) + WR Drake London (DJ Moore) + RB Tyler Alljier a 5th rounder 5'11" 220 210/1,035 @ 4.9 3 TDs; catches 16/139 @ 8.7 and 1 TD

I don't see that as they can sit tight and still get a QB for Steichen. AZ should be egging them on though.
If Indy wants the #3 qb, they have to be mindful of a team like Atlanta or Las Vegas trading up with Arizonia and leap frogging them. Indy will trade up and take, Richardson?

Can you explain the math?
Yes sir my comment needs clarification because we are in fact still of course @ #2 and not #1, now behind Carolina and not Chicago.
Carolina has already said they'd trade their newly acquired top pick but I'm not buying it because this was a really big move if they aren't targeting a particular QB, especially this far out before the Draft. Now if somebody does something really stupid I guess it could happen but unlikely IMO.
So I think there's a really good chance the Texans pick is in play, should be interesting.

I dunno how good is the WR that the Bears got from Carolina in their trade because if he's not rated real high then I'm not that impressed with the compensation that the Bears got for their #1: Carolina's second-round pick is so late in the round it's virtually a third-rounder.

The Panthers have not said they would trade the pick. The trade isn't official until the league year starts on Wednesday. Some reporter somewhere said that. Which is total BS, IMHO.

DJ Moore has averaged over 1000 yards/season over his 5 year career. He's good. A notch behind Pro Bowl good. He has 3 years and $52 million on his deal, which is a bargain on the current market. Still, he'll probably want an extension in a year. But you're right, I think the Bears should have gotten more. Rushing to make a deal this early hurt their bargaining position.

I am hopeful ATL does trade up to 2 with a similar package and some think LVR gets a FA QB and drafts last of four QBs. No, if Panthers does not take Richardson, Colts should.

Question to all; now that it has been established what 1.1 did bring, would another team more desperate by April 27th pay more?

It wouldn't matter if the Texans are hell bent at getting a QB at 1.2, which means they want the Young or Stroud leftovers after Carolina. If not, they could get a very nice price for that 1.2 pick if someone is desperate for whoever Carolina didn't pick.

Agreed it's probably BS !
I dunno which QB are the Panthers supposedly most interested in drafting ?

No one knows for sure. But here are some easter eggs from Franck Reich's introductory press conference.

Frank Reich's "Five traits"
1. Toughness
2. Accelerated vision
3. Footwork
4. Playmakers
5. “X Factor,” referring to players who are great teammates, great leaders and love football

Vision, playmaking, X factor. All attributes that have been ascribed to Bryce Young.

Reich also said he prefers the type of quarterback who can run the ball as well as throw. Edge to Young over Stroud.

Reich's quote on urgency:

“We feel a sense of urgency to win right now, but we also need to understand there are no quick fixes. In today’s NFL, teams can flip the page very quickly. That will be our goal, but we’ll go about it doing it the right way starting at the foundation,” he said. “Every year we see teams going from big-time losing to big-time winning, even competing for championships, all in the space of one year. It’s possible.”

While both Young and Stroud are considered day 1 starters, this would seem to eliminate a project like Anthony Richardson.

Here's Panther GM Scott Fitterer (who was Seahawks scouting director when Russell Wilson was drafted) on Bryce Young:
"I will say that he was a little bit bigger in person than I thought he would be,” Fitterer stated. “But I’ll tell you what—sitting down with him, he was so poised and just so in control. And the way he talks football, it was so fluid coming out of his mouth. Coaches couldn’t even get the question out and he’s already answering, or he went on to answer before they even asked the question because he understands the game so much.

“So, yeah, he’s not a big man, but he does so many things well. He sees the field, he processes quickly, he makes the right decisions and he’s just a really good person on top of it. Really smart, really good person.”

D.J. Moore is the crown jewel of an NFL heist that could go down as an all-time fleecing. His inclusion was vital for more ways than one.
Sorry but not really feeling the "all-time fleecing" thing here ?
I dunno what I'm really wondering about is why the Bears GM pulled the trigger so fast on this deal, on any deal when it's still well over a month before the actual Draft takes place ?

What the bears did was give Fields another young reliable target who can do alot of things. Mooney,Claypool, and Moore is a pretty good collection that will define the offense for Fields. If Claypool gets his act together with his down field playmaking, that unit can be really, really good.

Free agency starts this week. The Bears would like to know what they should target in FA as that will effect their draft targets.

EX: Adding DJ Moore likely knocks WR off their list. They have tons of cap space, they will be spending and knocking more needs off the list prior to the draft.
