2023 Combine

I can’t believe Karl Brooks DL wasn’t invited.
Is there something in Brooks background that kept him from receiving an invitation? The Senior Bowl's Jim Nagy gets requests from NFL teams on players they would like to see in Mobile. Brooks had to be on teams' lists to get invited to the game. I think Mapu and Keidron Smith were late additions. Brooks was there from the beginning.

Screw DeMaurice Smith's incompetent azz

The combine helps keep the NFL relevant during the off-season. They also make a lot of money off of it

Also it gives future NFL players a chance to improve their draft stock and make more money in the process. This clown is for hurting his future members.

The combine is going nowhere.

There are 319 players coming to Indy for the combine. 300 will benefit from being there. The rest have no obligation to show up. They probably aren't working out anyway.

Another example of sports unions looking after the top players rather than the bulk of their union.

Brooks & BJ Thompson are head scratchers. You can only invite so many guys from that position group, I get that. But, why not leave out a couple of guys from big schools that will have a heavy scouting contingent at their pro days? Just seems weird to me.
I’m sure Thompson will attend the local pro day that the Texans hold.

Thompson is actually from Arkansas, so his pro day will likely be the only chance for scouts to see him in action.

big school guys bring the advertising bucks.

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off on Sunday, February 26 with early player arrivals from the defensive line and linebacker group. From there, each day adds new player groups and is set to last until Monday, March 6, ending with the bench press drills from the offensive line and running backs.

Looking forward to this as I haven't seen many of the prospects play this year. It will be interesting to see their skills so I can better play the mock draft game.

Smith's suggestion to regionalize the Combine is a not so veiled attempt to reduce scrutinization of Draft prospects.
Prospects are of course bare-footed when their measurables are recorded, right ? So I dunno is there any known case of
an attempt to implant elevators into the soles of a player's feet ?

I think it depends on who the athlete is standing next to..

Jalen Carter and Bryce
Young doing interviews only at combine. Young to throw at proday.

Bryce will get measured at least correct? Is there one single "measurement day" or is it by position group on the day they do their workouts? As long as Bryce is 5' 10" or better in bare feet, I'm more than fine.

measured by position group. Either "pre-exams" or "general medical exams"

What if he measures just below 5’10? Would you still take him at 2?

Young is tallest (5'10" - 6'). Secretariat is the shortest at 5'4". Because they measure horses at the withers (where the shoulders meet the neck) and not the top of the head.

So we are now comparing Young’s height to the height of a horse because they are measured at the shoulders to make Young appear taller? Haha!

Answering the question in the form of a question? This isn't Jeopardy.

Flowers bulked up. I wonder if it’s affected effected his 40 time. Great receiver though. If we trade back from 12 he could be an option for the new QB.

I'd assume that a total package facility like Per4orm would cover weight gain with sustaining, if not still improving, 40 time..

Bryce Young won’t throw?

Maybe because he is worried about all that weight gain affecting his throws…

For Bryce, doing anything can only hurt his draft stock at this point. If anything, he’ll throw at his pro day where everything is scripted ahead of time in an environment he’s comfortable like most top prospects do.

Hopefully we can use this data to help beef up the middle of our OL. I had wanted to draft Zion Johnson last year and he’s on this list. Ideally Green to pick up his game during his second year. But I also recognize that Su’a-filo is on this list too. I just want our line to be good so our new QB is set up for success.

There's a mixed bag of players on that list. Some were good, some average, some sucked. I don't see a cheat code, but big guys with mobility are a good thing to have. As long as they can block.

If Texans take BPA @ #2 it's pretty clear that player does not play QB. Bears are gonna trade "the one" out so Colts can jump them ironically, the team who tanked against the Texans last game. And as far as you guys are concerned whom cannot even compromise a top 100 list, due to Texan narrative so be it. Get what you sow.
