57 players have accepted invites for the game scheduled for 2/4/23.

I love watching "The Pit", with OL facing off against DL in one on ones. This year will have great matchups with the D-Line featuring Big 12 talent Tyree Wilson, Siaki Ika, and Will McDonald. Leading the way for the O-Line are Maryland's Jaelyn Duncan, BYU's Blake Freeland, and Cody Mauch out of FCS powerhouse North Dakota State. Also, UH QB Clayton Tune has accepted an invite.

I'm interested in seeing how Camerun Peoples (RB) looks. He's got great size, speed & power. Not much for lateral movement, but he rarely doesn't fall forward for positive yardage.

I thought Tyree Wilson was out for the year

He said he would be off his foot for 2 months, which would probably take him out of the Senior Bowl. Could be back for the combine.
Makes sense. I think someone will overdraft Ali Gaye. If he ever puts it together, he would be a beast, but he hasn't done it to this point. When he test out, he's gone to be a riser on scouting sites.

Me too but I've not been able to get it in the past since U-verse dropped NFLNet, so I dunno will the practice broadcasts be exclusively on the NFLNet again in '23 ?

I didn't make it last year, but might make it this year to mobile

If you make it to Mobile, give us your thoughts on some of the guys that are there. Mauch is a guy that I think could be really good very quickly. Cooper Beebe is another guy I like alot. I think either one of these guys can play center.

Senior Bowl Coaches Announcement

In total, at least one coach from all 16 teams that submitted nominations were chosen and six clubs had multiple coaches appointed to this year’s American and National rosters (New Orleans Saints 4, Washington Commanders 4, Chicago Bears 4, Las Vegas Raiders 3, Cleveland Browns 2, and Pittsburgh Steelers 2).”

American
Head coach: Luke Getsy (Bears OC)
Offensive coordinator: Charles London (Falcons QBs coach)
Defensive coordinator: DeMarcus Covington (Patriots D-line coach)
National
Head coach: Patrick Graham (Raiders DC)
Offensive coordinator: Ronald Curry (Saints QBs coach/passing game coordinator)
Defensive coordinator: Grady Brown (Steelers DBs coach)”

Interesting... Stanford WR Elijah Higgins will also be worked out at TE during the Senior Bowl practices. At 6'-3" and 235 LBS, he could be a difficult cover for LB's. He's expected to run mid 4.4's in the forty. Owen Daniels was the same height, but was about 10 Lbs heavier, and ran a 4.65 forty.

“Nagy shared on social media that each player present is scheduled to have formal meetings and interviews with representatives from all 32 NFL teams.

Personnel staffs will now have an opportunity to meet with all 125 participants in the Senior Bowl.”

I love that every team gets to meet every prospect.

Could you see us pairing Pitre and Skinner?

Very big reason I’ve been talking so much about a certain 4 players I’d really like to add to the defense…..especially if DeMeco Ryans is the next HC.

Texans probably have to trade out of RD1-02 to make my desired RD1 look like this:

DE- Tyree Wilson (Texas Tech)
DT- Siaka Ika (Baylor)
SS- JL Skinner (Boise State)

I’ve got a feeling the Texans may have to get back into RD2 or sit tight in RD3 and hope that my other desired target is on the board:

ILB- Jack Campbell (Iowa)

Full and healthy seasons from both Stingley and Harris, a full season by Pitre at FS, and this group of (4) new faces…..might be the making of a new 49’ers style of defense in Houston.

I was high on Ika until I watched more of his game play. He wasn't a full time player, and really wasn't productive when he was on the field. He was powerful, but he was too slow, and RB's ran right by him more often than not.

In the 2nd round, I'd rather have Mazi Smith or Calijah Kancey. Mazi Smith is 6'-3" and 330-340, but is very athletic, and moves like a smaller guy. Kancey is 6'-0" and only 280-290, but has a high motor, and is very strong. Kancey has the build to easily handle another 20-30 lbs.

Maxi Smith is also one I really like.

Day 1 observations

“One name to watch this week is Bowling Green defensive lineman Karl Brooks. I thought he had a terrific first day. He was dominant on 1-on-1s and blew up a couple plays in a row in a team period. Brooks (6-3, 303) had 18.0 tackles for loss and 10.0 sacks this past season. If he continues to play like he did Tuesday, he'll be one of the big risers this week.”
