Trading for Lance makes a lot of sense especially if the rumors are true he can be had for a 3rd. Let him audition for the franchise QB role before 2024. If he hits great. If not, then its onto the next shiny young QB on a rookie contract.

I don't know that I would make it that far. Once the fully guaranteed contract is signed, I'm showing my backside.

I'm firing everybody not named me. Then I'm replacing my scouts with Mayock, Jeremiah, @steelbtexan, @beerlover, @Texansphan, & @gafftop.

Then I'm creating a whole new division "Any and all trades will be considered" headed by @badboy

@xtruroyaltyx will lead the coaching search & were going to start in the trenches best OL coach we can find, best DL coach we can find & we'll find a HC/OC/DC who can accept that even if i have to bring Culley, Caldwell, & Romeo out of retirement.

then I'm going to put my foot so far up Dr Lowe's heiny he'll have Adidas stamped on the backside of his teeth & I'm going to beg @CloakNNNdagger to head the medical & training staff.

Then I'm going to kick back, smoke a Cigar, with a glass of Glenlivet 1948 & watch Cal kill on MarioKart.

Draft looks pretty good although I'd rather trade down if not taking a QB at #2 overall. All those FA signings might be a little unrealistic, but good idea on Hargreaves. You lost me at bringing Baker Mayfield in, but otherwise not a bad plan.

Free Agency:

I would resign Okoronkwo, Weeks, Moore, Howard, Aikens, and Cashman. Others would be determined by coaching scheme fit.

I would sign B. Scott (RB) and T. Edmunds (ILB). Other signings would depend on coaching scheme fits.

Trade Cooks for at least a 3rd

Draft:

Priorities with the first three picks are QB, Edge, and WR. Definitely open to trading down and accumulating picks.

Priorities with the 3rd round picks are C, LB, DT, or secondary.

Priorities with all other picks are best player available.

I am seeing a lot of mocks now agreeing with me that Bears select Carter. If so, any chance that Seahawks trade up to Texans to select Will Anderson? I think Arizona at 3 will take Anderson or Carter. Everything i read says Seattle desperately needs to stop run and disrupt QB; that seems to be Andersons forte.

Colts lean towards Stroud IMO unless they go FA.

Do you think there is a possibility we could then trade the 2023 super Bowl trophy to the Cleveland Browns for their 1st round pick in 2025?

Curious to your thoughts on Jerry Hughes, re-signed Okoronkwu and Greenard healthy and under contract there being huge need for edge? I am Not opposed but want explanation as to why Car stereo will go that direction with so many other needs?

I'm good with keeping Hughes, but he's doesn't have many years left. Greenard was unimpressive. Okoronkwo looked good, but I think he's better as a rotational piece. I'm looking for a young guy who can get consistent pressure. It doesn't necessarily have to be an edge, but someone disruptive on the D-line.

It doesn’t have to be Mayfield. It could be anyone that is young and can be serviceable for a year with extra weapons to throw to such as Lazard, Richardson, and Metchie.

I’m all about the front 7 this year. Hargrave, David via FA and Anderson and the Andre Carter for the draft.

Since 2023 is really the first year of the Rebuild.

I hire Mike Kafka to be the HC.

I sign Jimmy Garopolo in FA.

I trade Laremy Tunsil for a min of a 1 and a 2, in order to get his 15% of the salary cap off the books.

#1.2 draft Jalen Carter because he is the best player in this draft and fills the biggest hole. (Shades of Quinnen Williams and Reggie White)

#1.12 draft LT, Paris Johnson and pay him a $20MM contract than the $150MM you would have to pay Tunsil.

#2.34 draft Edge BJ Ojulari (Hyatt under consideration, if he has 8" hands he's out, explains his drops).

Rule #1 is all about the DL and OL.

If you can draft an elite pass rusher you do it every time. The guys you listed are good but not elite players.

Hire the hottest young OC out there, get best QB at #2, best playmaker (TE/WR) at #12. Assess the 5 weakest remaining spots on the roster and draft 3 of those spots with our 2nd and 3rd round picks and pay up some serious $$$ to get legit starters from FA for the other 2. Tell Caserio he better hit on both firsts and a couple lower picks or he is out. We HAVE to build a juggernut offense to go against all the top AFC QBs. We need to attempt the Cincy model of getting high level QB/WR playmakers on rookie deals and filling out some quality around them with cap room, etc...Remember Zac Taylor was looking to get fired a couple years ago and then it turned out his young playmakers were revelations and 2 years later he has gotten to a Super Bowl and another AFC Championship game. In a time we should be going all in on offense we are hiring a defensive coach because he was a great legacy player for us. Very Texans. Stinks of Cal if you ask me.

This team desperately needs a dominant DLineman.
Edge would be preferable but a DT who can get to the QB and draw double teams would make the rest of the JAGs look much better.

I'd concentrate my D line budget on paying that that one guy and roll with other linemen currently under contract.

The rest of my spending on D would be linebackers.
I'd feel OK running it back with the secondary pretty much as is.

Payton ain't coming here and never was short us us throwing him an INSANE contract like $30M/year for 5 years - $150 milly plus we would have no doubt tossed, like a coin, our #12 pick to NO this year. The Payton to Texans "talk" was probably the dumbest/fly on the wall/unrealistic thing I saw in the NFL all year.
