I know you don't want to get yourself into cap hell when you are rebuilding but this off season they have to sign some actual NFL players in free agency and not just these jags they have signed the past 2 yrs.

I am beyond frustrated with the oline they have spent 4 first round picks on three guys and it still looks like the turnstile at a sold out stadium.

I don't think they will be able to sign any top tier FA's. But hopefully Caserio will be able to sign some young ascending mid tier FA's. The FA OL group isn't good this yr. The LB and IDL class has the kinds of guys I'm talking about though.

Good Grief, any above-average FA is going to have to be wildly overpaid to agree to be a part of this circus. Talk about a recipe for average and ordinary Texans have a lock on this like it's KFC's original fried chicken.

That's why I saidthat Caserio's going to have to find some young ascending, under the radar talent thisFA period and he will probably have to over pay to get a guy like this. There are a few DL that fit this description of solid starter level guyswho while not stars right now are solid players with growth left in their games Street from the Saints/Teair Tartt- Titans/Kevin Givens- 49ers would be examples of young ascending guys that should be available in FA at a reasonable cost even if you have to slightly over pay.

There's also a LB that's gotten alot of run because Greenlaw got hurt that meets this criteria, Azeez Al Shahir from the 49ers/Kazir White from the Eagles/Germaine Pratt from the Bengals etc... that you might have to pay 4-5 mil to get them to come to Kirby. But they all would look very good when paired with Harris and they all are in the 25-27 age range so they should have plenty of good football ahead of them.

This can be done and the cap space is available to get these guys.

Spend the money and players will play. Look at Jacksonville and Detroit and Cleveland in years past
NO!! Don't ever look at Jacksonville, Detroit and Cleveland's past. You'll go blind. Jags with 1 winning season since 2008, Browns 2 winning seasons since 2003, and hell, the Lions are actually the best of that bunch? Yuck.

Yet they all keep managing to sign a few quality free agents every year

They've got basically 6 top 100 picks

Supposing they hit on 5 of them, 2 ol, 2 dl and a WR'. Then added a really good lb and and an up and coming DL in FA.

Would you consider the team to be well setup for drafting a QB in 2024?

This can be done.

That fine. It’s still the NFL, people get paid. But if you’re suggesting the Texans follow the path of those teams, I mean, what good has those signings done for those teams?

The Texans are a long way from the signing quality FAs game.
