Week 10: Giant Gabongas in New York

I’m hoping for a win, I’m also hoping for a loss. Can’t lose!
Apathy has completely set in with me.. I have to wait until spring training until I can actually see a professional Houston sports team play again. I don't care about minor league teams. Hopefully the Rockets and the Texans get actual coaching staffs when their seasons end. I'll give it to Lovie though.. He's slightly better than Stephen Silas. That guy shows up wearing a ski mask when he cashes his checks. I hate that guy.

This team is such a let down. Watching the Astros and then going to the Texans is like going from dating Kate Upton one week to dating Roseanne Barr the next week.
I just wish regular season baseball wasn’t so boring. Then I could be a full time Astros fan

The Rockets just need a few more drafts of high lottery picks to turn it around.

Yeah but dating Kate will cost you a fortune. With Roseanne, you just need a pizza (or 3) & an 18 pack and you're good to go. And some ear plugs. Gotta have ear plugs. Noise canceling headphones even.

Facing another good RB I expect another blood bath.
We ran for more yards than the Eagles

The Titans scored 17 points.

If the Giants want to focus on running, I couldn't care less (outside of fantasy football that is) as long as the Texans limit them to 17 points.

Yeah but the Titans didn't even throw in the second half. Imagine what the score would've been if they played against a QB who could pass the ball with the running performance they had that day.

The Texans only had to stop the run and they still couldn't do it.

Wink Martindale doesn't know who said or did something to Texans running back Dameon Pierce in his past, but the Giants' defensive coordinator proclaimed he "might be the angriest runner in the league." The fourth-round pick out of Florida leads all rookies with 776 yards from scrimmage. It will be the second consecutive game where the Giants face an Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate.
Martindale compared the "old school" Pierce to Earl Campbell (Heisman Trophy winner and Pro Football Hall of Fam member) and Jamal Lewis (2003 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year).

I don’t think the Eagles gave the Texans a 2nd thought. As a result the Texans hung in there for a minute but when Philly decided that’s enough they had no issues doing what they wanted.

Kinda the same for the Titans though they aren’t nowhere as good as the Eagles. Sure the Titans only scored 17. Yeah, well, the Texans only scored 10, and the Titans threw the ball ONE time in the 2nd half, and I think it was just 10 for the game.

Interesting that Barkley is 3rd in rushing and the Giants are 5th as a team, while Pierce is 6th and as a team the Texans are 25th. As good as Pierce is he can’t do this shit on his own.

All of that said, I actually thought this was a game the Texans could steal, but thanks to extracurricular things that always seem to be surrounding this team, I’m not very confident in that anymore. With the Cooks situation, how much focus and drive is there really going to be? This team and their culture bullshit is a freaking nightmare.

Philly couldn't hang with the Texans on their best day.

Thats the reason the Astros won the world series. (Astros are Texans too). :kitten:

Reality is, doesn't matter what the Titans game looked like, what the Philly game looked like. This will either be another loss or an almost meaningless win.

What if a frog had wings?

totally irrelevant to the conversation. He said “another” blood bath. I simply pointed out the two most recent games against “good” running teams weren’t blood baths because of their RBs.

The Titans game was a blood bath.. maybe not on the scoreboard, but out on the field it sure was, so my post is relevant to the conversation. The score is what's irrelevant. They got their butts whipped. Luckily they played against a raw rookie who only passed 10 times.. amazingly in only 10 pass attempts he overthrew or totally missed 2 wide open recievers for TDs. I don't see how you can prop up that they only scored 17 points. That was one of the worst defensive performances I watched in team history or ever. The Titans didn't even have to throw the ball.

Agreed that was one of the worst defensive performances I've ever seen. But it's more like a thousand paper cuts than Friday the 13th

That's where the score matters. I don't care if they gave up 700 rushing yards if they hold them to 17 points

Scoring on 4 out of 4 red zone possessions vs our scoring on 2 out of 4 is what separates a bad team from an abomination of an organization

Blood bath.... pfft

If they only gave up 17 points to a legit QB threat, I'd agree with you. Just average passing threat in that game it would've been a absolute blowout. Raw (understatement) passer making his 1st NFL start who threw 10 passes. Titans played with one good hand, kept nailing a straight jab over and over again, and we couldn't stop it. That final Texans TD drive just made the optics of that game appear a little better, but it doesn't tell the story.

It could have been Tannehill... he likes throwing to the Texans

Vrabel might as well have used the Wing T offense.

Ya sign a contract, and an extension, then decide you don't like it. Oops.

Life in the NFL. I feel so bad for these millionaires when they get upset. LOL
You should, cause the thing thats the most important thing to them that was promised to them wasn't on their mind while the contract was drawn up by their agent and Texans organization... you know so that the thing most important to them would become a contractual obligation they couod not retract.... being so importantly important.

Also, how is he to know the Texans aren't the powerhouse everyone expected them to be?

Oh... yeah. :kitten:
