This process was collectively bargained between the league and the players. The NFL is a joke for going through her in the first place. It’s their business so they should’ve dropped the hammer.

Agreed and this judgement was based on the evidence that the NFL presented in 4 cases and not all the allegations brought up. What if the evidence was weak in the 4 chosen? This wasn't about criminal activity or 25, 50, 60 allegations or whatever the total was...it was about how the 4 cases contributed to violations of the personal conduct policy. I read he settled more cases this morning, so it looks like those involved except 1 are ready to move on. If the NFL doesn't appeal within the 3 day window, this thread probably should be closed after a week.Maybe. Just maybe. There is literally no evidence he did anything wrong. Two grand juries and a female judge who could have throw the book at him with no questions have found no evidence or not enough to say he did something egregious. I’m sure the emotional posters on here will rock me for this post but the reality is a lot of people on here have been wrong the entire way. Guess that’s what happens when you leap to conclusions.
When players of a paper contract can get fined 85k per day for a holdout even though they don't receive their salary during training camp. They get like 2k a week for training camp. Their post playing injuries are brutal, yet they don't lifetime healthcare. Why was it a bad deal and what would you consider to be a good deal?
Can she do fines? Maybe thats up to the NFLAnd no fine was handed down by Robinson. SMH
This was not supposed to be a criminal court.
I'm not in the hearing (just like everyone else here). But I get the feeling from reports that the NFL is taking the wrong tack by arguing Watson's behavior in the massage sessions. Despite the sentiment among many here, that will be a tough call with no physical evidence and no police reports at the time of the incidents. What can't be argued by Watson or the NFLPA is the multiple violations of the NFL COVID policies. Teams lost draft picks for violating these policies. Watson was beyond flagrant in his abuse of these policies. To be honest, the Texans should be punished by the league if they knew Watson was violating COVID policies. I can see a year's suspension alone for breaking COVID protocols numerous times.
This was a screwup by the NFL from the beginning. Oh well, time to move on.The case is being heard by a former judge who will likely lean on proven facts. I just think the NFL's case has been risky when Watson had sure fire violations on COViD protocols.
I don't know if posters were wrong all along, but nobody on this board know what was presented. The GJ did no bill twice and this independent did recommend what she did. Again, when this all jumped off, I said, let the process take care of itself. I guess we will see in the next chapter.Maybe.
That's part of punishment that she can dole out by CBA..........just like the NFL.Can she do fines? Maybe thats up to the NFL
Ok. I was asking because I didn't know. That's part of punishment that she can dole out by CBA..........just like the NFL.
Which are?Actually, at this point we know where Robinson's priorities are.
I'd like to know alsoWhich are?
You're smart. I'll let you figure it out.Which are?
Anyone growing up idolizing an entertainer/athlete, that's poor parenting. My dad was my hero, not someone hooping or throwing a football or someone on the tv. This ruling has more to do with the system much more than society as a whole. There's a reason why many of our kids grow up with their priorities so screwed up. They are taught to look up to figures like Watson..........and sadly too many times follow in his footsteps as they grow into adulthood.
Good question. Wasn't something like that presented to the grand jury? Why did the NFL only present 5 cases to Robinson?
Thanks for the compliment, but I don't have a clue to what you're referring to regarding Judge Robinson. Was she in cahoots with the league, and was chosen to take the fall for the low end suspension? You're smart. I'll let you figure it out.
Josh Gordon - 50 games for drug use.Which are?
Maybe they should show up for their jobs, just like everybody else in America has to do. After all they did sign a binding contract. Although you're right the NFL isn't the real world and contracts don't appear to be worth the paper they're written on.When players of a paper contract can get fined 85k per day for a holdout even though they don't receive their salary during training camp. They get like 2k a week for training camp. Their post playing injuries are brutal, yet they don't lifetime healthcare.
Hey amazing 80, I will make you a really good deal on some ocean front property.Maybe.
Judge Robinson was not involved in any of those non-Watson suspensions. And @CloakNNNdagger knows that.Josh Gordon - 50 games for drug use.
Calvin Ridley - Season for gambling.
Kareem Hunt - 8 games for at least 2 incidents of violent behavior against both a woman and a man
Desean Watson - 6 games for a repeated behavior of sexual harassment and assault
Ray Rice - 2 games for physical assault on his fiance
I think we know the answer to this. Why did the NFL only present 5 cases to Robinson?
Anyone growing up idolizing an entertainer/athlete, that's poor parenting. My dad was my hero, not someone hooping or throwing a football or someone on the tv. This ruling has more to do with the system much more than society as a whole.
That goes without saying. You have to at least get vested which happens after 5 years. In general, its difficult for them to get insurance because of preexisting conditions. When the politacl talking heads are talking about this, most people think its because of cancer or diabetes, but it includes asthma and for ex football players everything. My close friends who played are getting hip replacements and knee replacements despite being 50 years old or younger. Those things are very expensive.Maybe they should show up for their jobs, just like everybody else in America has to do. After all they did sign a binding contract. Although you're right the NFL isn't the real world and contracts don't appear to be worth the paper they're written on.
Agreed about the healthcare after their careers are finished. But I think they need to play in the NFL at least 3 years before receiving those benefits.
Didn't Rice get kicked out of the nfl?Josh Gordon - 50 games for drug use.
Calvin Ridley - Season for gambling.
Kareem Hunt - 8 games for at least 2 incidents of violent behavior against both a woman and a man
Desean Watson - 6 games for a repeated behavior of sexual harassment and assault

It's ok now that Robinson has made her ruling, God'ell can lay down the hammer if he chooses too. We will see where the NFL stands against violence against women. Unfortunately I think from past actions we all know where they stand. But gotta add was hoping for a very long suspension due to greed of owning their picks. But if the evidence was week, maybe even evidence of extortion from greedy women. Then 6 months may be about right. Like others said we just don’t know the details. And I’m about to stereotype but I would imagine unlicensed hot women flying around to give massages just may not be of high character.

They are posters. Not Kreskins. Even if some claim to know everything (Including you & me).Interesting if six games is the final result. Posters here have insisted for months that Watson was absolutely guilty. Then they said he would absolutely be placed on the Commissioners list. Then they said he would be indicted. Then they said sue Robinson would correct with a lengthy suspension.
I think they should lower the insurance to 3 years and keep the pension benefits at 5 years.. I don't know if this is feasible. That goes without saying. You have to at least get vested which happens after 5 years. In general, its difficult for them to get insurance because of preexisting conditions. In terms of contracts, I mean, if they were getting their full salary during training camp, I could understand, but their getting pennies, but getting overfined. So what we have witnessed is guys will show up and not participate.
This was a screwup by the NFL from the beginning. Oh well, time to move on.
This is the NFL. Not the criminal court system. Not the civil court system. This is not the place for justice. If it were, several owners would have lifetime suspensions by now.Is a person who's a sexual predator not only going to get away with his actions, but is he going to get almost fully paid his contract, so that he faces no repressions from his actions?
The judge's name is Sue Robinson. In trying to understand the thought process of the decision, here is the biography of judge Julie Robinson:
Julie A. Robinson – Welcome to the U.S. Court for the District of Kansas (uscourts.gov)
Very qualified.
And the sky is blue.……….…..let the “outrage” begin…..
ill get it started……”the NFL doesn’t care about women”….![]()

Looks like it was supposed to be whatever Sue Robinson decided it was supposed to beThis was not supposed to be a criminal court.
Are we saying Sue Robinson handed out all these punishments?Josh Gordon - 50 games for drug use.
Calvin Ridley - Season for gambling.
