Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

What the heck is he paying Hardin for?

I know Hardin can’t advise his client to perjure himself & Derrick has to explain why he apologized, but… “I don’t know”

Surely they could come up with something better than "I don't know"

To keep him out of jail. Mission accomplished, now Rusty is going to slow walk this as long as he can. Money-Money-Money.

I would suspend him the entire season and then the first 8 games in 2023 just to punish the Browns/Watson for his disgusting behavior and the ridiculous "suspension protection" 💊 they strucured in year 1 of his guaranteed contract. Make a example out of this Moron.

So glad Mr. Poopy Butthole is no longer on our books or plays for our team/city.

HOUSTON (WJW) – Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson denies having sex with any of the 18 massage therapists who have publicly supported him following the filing of 22 civil lawsuits by women alleging sexual misconduct during massage sessions.

In April, a Texas judge ruled that Watson must say whether or not he had sex with the 18 therapists. His response to that and other questions were given to the attorney representing the 22 accusers.

“We continue to assert that the sexual history of third parties who are not alleging any misconduct against Mr. Watson is entirely irrelevant,” said Leah Graham, who is one of the attorneys, along with Rusty Hardin, representing Watson. “We feel strongly that the court’s order creates a dangerous precedent and effectively punishes individuals who were brave enough to identify themselves and stand with the accused at a time when Mr. Watson was being maligned by women improperly hiding behind the shield of anonymity. While we seriously considered appealing, we ultimately decided against it. Instead, consistent with the court’s order, we answered and served our responses on May 6, 2022. And consistent with the therapists’ public statements, Mr. Watson did not have any form of sexual relations with the 18 therapists who shared their experiences working with him and provided the context necessary to evaluate plaintiffs’ allegations.”

While two grand juries declined to indict the 26-year-old, on any criminal charges, he still faces 22 civil lawsuits from women accusing him of sexual misconduct.

“We’re gonna slowly peel back every layer of this onion ,” said attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents the 22 accusers. “We’re gonna expose it for everyone to see.”

Buzbee also stated that in a deposition that was taken May 13, Watson stated the massage therapist was “teary eyed” at the end of the session.

“After the session she cut short, he sent a text apologizing,” Buzbee stated. “And he had to explain away the text, why did you send a text to the therapist apologizing?”

According to the transcript of the deposition obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team, the text stated “Sorry about you feeling uncomfortable. Never were the intentions. Let me know if you want to work in the future. My apologies.”

In that May 13 deposition, Watson said the therapist ended the session and he didn’t know why.

“And then I was, ‘All right. That’s fine.’ And then she walked out. And like I said, I got dressed. And that was that. So it wasn’t — I wasn’t thinking too much of it,” Watson stated in the deposition.

He was then asked if therapist was crying? And he said, “no.”

“It was just, I don’t know, it was just watery eyes,” Watson’s deposition stated. “She wasn’t like crying or balling or anything like that. It was watery eyes. And I was confused on what was going on.”

He further added that he sent the text message because he was trying to figure out why she was teary eyed.

“I’m still trying to figure it out to today, honestly,” Watson said. “You see it in the text messages. She said that she felt uncomfortable. I don’t know why she felt uncomfortable, but, I still don’t know. I still don’t know.”

Attorneys for both sides say most likely no trial will take place until next spring.

The NFL is still investigating if Watson violated the league’s personal conduct policy. League investigators are speaking with Watson this week and it’s not known when the investigation will be complete. If investigators find he did violate the league’s policy he could face a suspension.

Buzbee added that he has more information that will be coming out soon on the case, including allegations that Watson paid someone to arrange massages for him.

“The walls are closing in on Deshaun Watson,” Buzbee said.

But Watson’s attorneys disagree saying the quarterback did nothing wrong.

“Deshaun Watson is a compassionate, caring person,” Graham said. “He did do what is alleged and he is eager to clear his name.”

Is it illegal to have a personal assistant?

it’s like saying Cal McNaire paid someone to put gas in his car.

So?
It makes that person also potentially liable. Also, those are two completely different things. Watson paying someone to find women for him to force himself upon and Cal paying someone to put gas in his car are not the same.

They're a long way from proving Watson forced anything

In civil cases they don't have to prove He forced anything.. it'll be in Watson's best interest if he settled these cases yesterday. I'm sure the NFL already has enough to nail him to the wall.
A civil lawsuit against Avery doesn't get anyone anything, so what's the point?

It's not a crime to arrange a massage. Period. So it means nothing that Watson paid someone to schedule them.

I think that’s why Buzbee changed the allegations to show a pattern of trying to arrange massages and sex. Something about intent.

So he's got to prove Watson's intent was to have sex with these women regardless what the women wanted & then prove Avery knew that intention.

What would be the point? Is Avery on trial now?

way Too naïve. In what may be illicit activities perps use “assistants” and other devices to shield their identity and to force any investigations into hearsay evidence. This says nothing aboutDW’s intent but it does raise red flags in the history of crime.

I'm trying to understand what merit using a personal assistant improves/damages Buzzbee's case. I'm not seeing any

For one, it does raise suspicion and brings another figure into deposition. I was just responding to your Cal example. The act of filling a gas tank is not in the same realm as the act of arranging IG massages. Does it hurt him? Doesn’t help.

How many different ways are there to call Deshaun Watson a dirtbag?
Cleveland’s newest QB needs to get lost already as even more gross revelations emerge
Yesterday 5:09PM

Deshaun Watson can take the entire Browns team to Abu freaking Dhabi for all we care — it’s not going to erase the 22 ongoing sexual misconduct and assault cases that he’s still facing. Whether the announcement that he was treating his new offense to a Bahamas trip was an attempt at garnering an ounce of positive press or just a way to win over new teammates ready to be bought out and look past his plethora of sins, no one is going to forget the allegations — and the rest of the Browns shouldn’t be contributing to normalizing his presence on a roster.

The latest news in the pre-trial depositions (again, of the 22 civil trials that Watson is facing down right now) is that he admitted that one of the plaintiffs, Ashley Solis, cried after a massage therapy session, per USA TODAY. The first of the therapists to go public, at enormous personal risk, Solis claimed that Watson touched her with his penis during their session.

After the session, he texted her: “Sorry about you feeling uncomfortable. Never were the intentions. Lmk if you want to work in the future. My apologies.”

As expected, Watson is claiming that he has no idea why she was “teary-eyed.” He’s also reportedly meeting with the NFL this week to determine whether he’ll face suspension for breaking the league’s code of conduct. Rumors on Twitter are floating around, with three-, four-, or six-week suspension possibilities getting thrown out there, but the reality of the situation is that no one really knows what his suspension will look like. All there is to do is wait and see.

The good news in this is that it’s not just going to go away for him — at least, not for the time being. With no existing court orders preventing lawyers from sharing pre-trial depositions, leaks like the Solis texts and the crying acknowledgement will keep coming from 22 different women who have been courageous enough to put their names out there and continue to take a stand against an incredibly popular public figure, even when NFL teams and owners were more than willing to be blind to the allegations. Blind enough, mind you, to give Watson the largest guaranteed contract in the history of the game. He has several more pre-trial depositions in June, though the trials themselves aren’t scheduled to begin until February, at which point any suspension he faces from the league will likely be finished.

At least until the season starts — and at that point, no one can guarantee if everyone will be willing to overlook his past in exchange for wins — he’s under a harsh spotlight, Bahamas trip be damned. And while I don’t think it’s a fair demand to ask his current teammates to speak out against him, especially as the cases are still ongoing, it’s fair to hope that the NFL steps up where the Browns didn’t to condemn his behavior. A sunny vacation, generous as it may be, can’t erase reality.

Is it illegal to have a personal assistant?..............NO!

Ever heard of "PIMPING"? Tx has some pretty specific laws concerning this activity.
Ms Solis in particular is saying quite clearly that there was no expectation of sex for money. All the complaintants are saying there was no expectation of sex for money. There is no "PIMPING" if the women are not expecting to provide sexual services.

Watson's intent may be different. Avery's assistance may be different. But, based on the women complaining Avery is simply scheduling massages.

There doesn’t have to be an “expectation” of pimping on the womens part. Just like there are no expectations of it when woman is trafficked. It can happen by force coercion or fraud.

And that’s not true. Ms Solis actually stated in her lawsuit that she believed all Watson wanted was sex. In other lawsuits filed, the complainants allege Watson, during the sessions asked how much more money could he pay to get them to have sex.

Also again, many trafficked women have pimps who force them into work.

Avery is not simply scheduling massages, because he is asking for pictures of the women. That is not necessary for just a massage. He’s being paid to find women Watson likes and wants to have sex with.

Yes, that's right. She wasn't crying, her eyes were just perspiring a little bit from vigorously rubbing oil on your dirty butthole. She worked up a sweat.

Mulugheta knows! [What an idiot timing for a remark like this while the NFL was meeting with Watson.........just one of several ill-advised statements by team Watson]

Arrogant and stupid. And it looks like Watson is now in the Bahamas so the NFL has wrapped up the meetings with him for now as he posted that he is on the golf course on his IG. Just an idiot.

CLEVELAND (WJW) – A 104-page transcript of a May 13 deposition of Browns Quarterback Deshaun Watson reveals the 26-year-old denied doing anything to make a massage therapist cry.

He did state the therapist had “watery eyes” after the session and he texted her and apologized.

According to the transcript of the deposition obtained by the FOX 8 I-Team, the text stated “Sorry about you feeling uncomfortable. Never were the intentions. Let me know if you want to work in the future. My apologies.”

In that May 13 deposition, Watson said the therapist, Ashley Solis, ended the session and he didn’t know why.

“And then I was, ‘All right, that’s fine,’ and then she walked out and like I said, I got dressed. And that was that. So it wasn’t — I wasn’t thinking too much of it,” Watson stated in the deposition.

He was then asked if therapist was crying and he said, “no.”

Attorney Maria Holmes, of the Buzbee law firm, who was at the deposition, asked Watson if he sent the apology text to Solis because of the way he acted during session.

“I didn’t act no way,” Watson responded. “I didn’t act no way. So, like I said, my apologies. Whatever she was feeling, I’m always — I’m that type of person. I’m a very genuine and lovey person. So, when a person feels some type of way, my apologies. I didn’t mean – that wasn’t my intentions, like I said, in the text message.”

Solis alleges that sexual misconduct happened during the massage session and she ended the appointment abruptly.

“Could you tell the face of horror that she had?” Holmes asked.

Watson said he did not notice that Solis was upset when she ended the session.

“No, I didn’t tell – you couldn’t tell anything. It was normal. She didn’t start coming back in with a different face until she walked back inside and I was already dressed. And then that’s where the communication was like, ‘Okay. What’s going on?’ That’s when it was noticed. She was never crying during the massage session, no.”

Solis is one of 22 plaintiffs suing Watson, alleging sexual misconduct. Watson faces no criminal charges. Two grand juries declined to indict him on any charges.

According to the deposition, Holmes also asked if Watson is saying all 22 plaintiffs are lying about the allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

“I’ve never had any sexual misconduct with any of these women,” Watson said. “I done told you before multiple times from day one I received the lawsuit. I never assaulted, I never harassed, I never disrespected, I never touched. No woman ever touched me or nothing like that, what these women are alleging that actually happened.”

Holmes then asked, “So all, you would say all 22 plaintiffs are lying?”

Watson said he is not “calling them any names.”

He also stated in the deposition that it’s been months since his last massage.

“Like I said, in the past year, I think I told you guys in another depo, I haven’t gotten a massage since because of all this,” Watson said.

Watson was also asked if he felt he has the ability to ruin Solis’ reputation and her massage therapy business.

“I’m not trying to ruin anything with her with what she’s doing,” Watson stated. “She has the ability to ruin mine, though, for sure.”

Funny Hardin and team Watson have all tried to say that Watson needed so many massages all year round because he plays or works out all year round and they are so necessary to his conditioning.

And now, all of a sudden he states that he hasn't gotten a massage "in months" since all this started "because of all this."

Certainly, doesn't look like he couldn't live without massages for a very long time. Yet at any time, he could have had massages from the Texans trainer staff and later by the Browns trainer staff with no worries.

Watson is simply just not very smart to have brought that up.

Not at all and that statement will be used in every single case.

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The FOX 8 I-Team has learned NFL investigators met with Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson this week, but they want to meet with him again.

Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin has said before the NFL was being very thorough, and now he has indicated the league is far from being finished.

Hardin also said there is no timetable on when the NFL investigation will be done.

“Remaining schedule is unclear but they clearly want to complete it sometime this summer,” Hardin told the Fox 8 I-Team.
