I’m glad we don’t play any division opponent twice in a six week period. It’s probably going to hurt the Jags & boost the Colts to play each other twice in the 1st six weeks.

I hate that we have three division games to close out the season. The Jags & Titans have two division games in the last 3 weeks.

we’re at Tennessee, home against the Jags, at Indy.

Why? The Texans can help decide the AFC South winner.
For one, if the division is up for grabs, none of them will be gimme wins (which is probably for the better)

Secondly, they're going to be tough regardless of record

& third, 2 out of 3 are on the road.

I'm glad they will have something to play for at the end of the season. A win against a playoff contender could build momentum. I think this team will be better in weeks 15-18 than weeks 1-4.

The bridge between stupid and useless is short.
If this schedule was cake, it would be a huge surprise birthday cake and instead of a pretty girl popping out of it it would be my dead grandmother inside.

I think it looks promising.

Dead Grammy reference never welcome but I guess you got your opinion across...

I guess I watch too much South Park, it's my guilty pleasure. Just watched the Korn episode when I posted that. My apologies for the dead grandma reference.

TBH, the schedule doesn't look like one of the 5 toughest in the NFL. I could see 7 or 8 wins in that schedule which is much higher than I expected after I read CNND's pre-schedule reveal post that had the Texans facing the 5th toughest SOS. Even though I wasn't super enthusiastic about the draft results, with the vets they signed for the d-line and the rookies like Pierce, Pitre and Green, I expect a very competitive season from the Texans.

Texans 7.5 point home dogs week 1. Largest spread on the board.

Yes, I’m well aware they were 3 point home dogs week 1 last year.

What do you think about Matt Ryan? Is there life in them bones, or is he just a shell?

Ryan has done nothing the past 3 years. I don't see him as that much of an upgrade from Wentz and he certainly hasn't played as well as Tannehill the past 3 seasons. I think he will be the last nail in Frank Reich's coffin, but the GM will survive.

Old QB in a new system on the road with maybe a hostile opening week crowd. Maybe. I guess the Texans have a shot to cover. If Jonathan Taylor is gimpy.

The Colts will give us an idea how much the Texans' attitude has changed. Last season the Colts curb stomped us in 2 games with the Colts outscoring the Texans 62 to 3 (Week 6 - Colts 31-3, Week 13 - Colts 31-0).

If the Texans can't get fired up for this game after the humiliation of last year & a whole offseason to prepare it will not bode well for this season.

I suspect I'm letting my heart overrule my head & am setting myself up for a hard reality slap but I expect the Texans to kick the Colts ass in the opening game.

Can’t wait for the day humiliation motivates these yahoos. Lately it seems humiliation is to be expected.

I don't know how much he's got left in the tank, but I do think he can be a little more efficient in a system where he's not asked to do as much because they've got a top notch run game. I mean Wentz in that offense wasn't horrible last year, 27/7 with a 94.6 rating, and I think Ryan is still better than him.

Looking at their roster though, other than Taylor, I don't see any other playmakers on offense. Paris Campbell, Michael Pittman, Keke Coutee?? Who does that scare?

Which is why the Colts two 2nd rd picks were Pierce and Woods. Giving Ryan the weapons he needs.
