Give me your picks @ the Texans draft slots at #3, #13 & #37. From your lists, I am going to create a little draft game for the week of the draft.

#3 - ?
#13 - ?
#37 - ?

Thread will remain open until 4/25 AM.

3) Neal/Ekwonu, Gardner, Hamilton

13) Davis, Zion, Jermaine Johnson

37) Mafe/Ebiketie, Moore/Watson/Burks, Kenyon Green/Tyler Smith, Kyler Gordon/Jalen Pitre
I just do not see all the hoopla for Davis as our defensive tackles are set in my opinion. Other positions need updating at a higher priority than defensive line. I am also beginning to think that Lovie Smith believes his offensive line is set which leads me to consider backing off of Penning at 13 and going with a Hotshot wide receiver.

If I knew treylon Burks would be there at 37 he would be the perfect wide receiver in my opinion for Davis Mills. As I do not see him falling that low I would go with Jameson Williams at 13.

Division has two of the five best RBs in the league. Need to stop the run to win in the division. If you think “running it back” with the same set of DTs/LBs is satisfactory then I don’t know what to tell you…

Davis will not only be a massive upgrade on the interior but he would elevate the play of the LBs. Also, better performance against the run sets up 3rd and long situations which would help the pass rushers get home more often.

I find it interesting that most responses are ignoring what was said in today's media session. Lovie said they were going to draft a CB "high" and that they were going to draft OL "high". I'm going to go with this.

I think Lovie would like to get Sauce and Green. But 13 is too high for Green. A big question is whether the Texans are willing to overlook the medicals on Stingley. I'm thinking Caserio will decide "no". Lovie likes CB's with some size. So the question becomes, where does McDuffie fall on their board and is he an acceptable alternative to Sauce.

I think so.

So the question then becomes, who to take at #37?

If Green falls to the bottom of the first, I think Caserio will try to trade up and take him. If he's there at #37, he will take Green. But I'm going to assume Green is off the board; and the Texans will go for a receiver.

So....
#3..... Evan Neil;
#13... Trent McDuffie;
#37... Skyy Moore

I’d also be looking to add, DE- Cameron Thomas (SDSU) later to pair with Greenard. With the interior capable of garnering a lot of attention….it would only mean good things ahead for Greenard and Thomas.

If we were in a 3-4 and needing Vince Wilfork I would be more interested. As I said I am becoming more convinced that lovey is rolling with both lines as is with exception of an O Guard.

It’s difficult for sure because Cincinnati used a lot of zone. If he played man corner more, tape would be easier. I understand. Watch his individual workouts/drills. He flashes every play but what I like most, especially for corner position he never quits on a play, helps other players and is selfless. Very rare.

Listening to 610, it seems Lovie has never drafted a CB in the 1st round, and only once drafted a safety. Of all the defensive players he's drafted, they've been the front four. He's often said his defense starts with the front four and his drafting history supports this.

Another thing they discussed is Hutchison's short arms. It seems he's really worked, over the past several years, perfecting his pass rush. Whereas most players have maybe two moves to defeat his opponent, Hutchison has three moves to resort to.

Set as in part of the worst run defense in the NFL?

What I'm hoping

#3 Neal
#13 Davis
#37 Sam Williams

What will probably happen

#3 Sauce
#13 Jamison Williams
#37 Hall

You mean to say that you believe our HC is satisfied with both the Texans Oline & Dline as is except that he might be inclined to draft an offensive guard ?

After you read this, you're gonna hate it, that we don't have a - Hate Option - at the bottom ! #3 Ickey
#13 Trevor
#37 Zion

You must have the Courage of your Convictions ! .... said someone brave and dead somewhere/sometime or other !

run defense was bad last year. What do you think Davis would do? Answer - shut down the run and force a lot of third and longs. Nobody on this rosteris close to Davis in terms of ability. Think a young nasty Vince Wilfork type.

3. Kyle Hamilton (S)
13. Devin Lloyd (LB)
37. Trade back into 1st round and select Tyler Linderbaum (C)

Both Hamilton and Lloyd provide incredible range at their positions which should help the defense. Linderbaum provides the anchor in the middle of the O-line we've been missing for years.

I think the picture is coming into focus now.
Texans are gonna take AH (if there) or KT if they stay put at #3.
Then Stingley or Booth at #13 if they sit pat there.
Of course, a trade at either spot changes everything. Still, they will have their contingency selections if that happens.
Taking two defensive players and ignoring the OL. What makes you think this is the picture coming into focus?

Well Porkster that's exactly what I said if we were in a 3-4 defense. I also said my thought is Lovey is set on dline and oline with exception of Oguard and I hope Sam Williams at 80. This defense need an edge rusher much more so than an interior lineman.

I am interested in why you would go safety over a cornerback?
