Reports are that Caserio was really impressed with McCown 2021 interview. I think Casserio probably would have preferred more experience, but if media conjecture is right and Caserio wants a top down hierarchy, then McCown makes sense. Caserio is going to have to nail it with the OC position, which will likely be offered to Hamilton.

I am starting a rumor that Monday Nick announces that Flores, McCown and Gannon are no longer in consideration but in depth search will continue to bring the best head coach to the Houston Texans.

They're going to hire who they want to hire. Best we can hope for as fans is they get lucky and McCown becomes a great HC. Like I said before I'm going to give him a couple of yrs before I start to pass judgement. One positive is he should be great working with Mills.

Negative is the more things change down on Kirby the more they remain the same. Great job Calhoun. (Sarcasm....)

If this is Casserio's vision, we're going to have very limited choices with HCs going forward if he just wants someone to stand there and do as they're told. I can't see a HC getting the respect of the locker room under these conditions. We'd better be ready for a steady flow of Culleys and McCowns in the future, no one else need apply. We'll never get a top tiered HC like this. I wonder if Cal knew what he was getting into when he hired Casserio? You think he told Cal that this is how he wanted to run this team?

Nick probably thinks Lovie, Pep and Crennel are consistency. They will have a HC by committee as some teams have RBs by committee while McCown --- McCowns.

Of course, he's also the guy that hired twittle dee and twittle dum to begin with so Game Boy doesn't get a pass.

Hire a GM that does..you know..GM things. The longer NC's reign of terror persists, the more I'm turning against that ass clown.

He's on the shortest of leashes with me at this point. Of course, Cal doesn't give a damn what I think. He probably will extend the guy for a century.

At this point, it's not my circus and not my clowns.

Flores is suing the NFL for potential racist or racially unequal hiring practices. The Texans reportedly are down to 2 final candidates. Flores with tons of experience and his lawsuit and McCown, a white guy with 0 experience. If between these two they choose McCown, it would be quintessentially Texan like to put themselves in this position.

I really don't know how to put any more details on this. Don't read too much into it either, this is all I was trying to say.
 
Just announce that Caserio is also the head coach and be done with it. With him wanting to hire his own staff anyway, what difference does it make, other than you don't have to find anyone to agree to it? I mean, he's already on the head set during games, he's at all the practices, **** it.

Chad Forbes reported that they offered Flores the job and he turned them down.

Flores has never been on my list. It's hard to comprehend he was one of three finalists on the Texans short list, knowing what you are disclosing.

Only thing I’ve seen related to the Texans and Flores, beyond the side note of him still being a candidate for Texans and Saints, was Stephen A saying he should NOT take the Texans job. I mean Stephen A is a jackass that killed his show for his ego but it’s still all I’ve seen outside of local stuff.
