Texans vs Colts GameDay Thread

I’ll be at the game today, but only because season ticket holders must attend all games to qualify for the super bowl drawing. Otherwise I’d be at home smoking some ribs and sipping on some E.H.Taylor (sigh)

Here’s hoping that the Texans don’t mess up their draft position with a meaningless win today.
I first, I thought you said "smoking some weeds". :brando:

I have to question, is Culley resorting to these benchings as he is a harsh disciplinarian coach, or does his team have a complete lack of discipline that OB has allowed to go unchallenged?

Strangely, OB seems like an in your face prick who would be hard on such indiscretions while Culley looks like the arm round the shoulder uncle type.

Good point. I think for as much as fans viewed OB as a harsh disciplinarian type he was actually a player’s coach to a fault.

I don’t remember incidences of the team benching players for disciplinary reasons during his tenure and we’re already at 3 starters missing a game year one with Culley.

Also, OB rewarded “his guys” with contracts that we know were awful (Cobb, Mercilus, Cunningham to name a few).

Then we get into the “Watt-fork” gimmick plays. I have a suspicion the players campaigned for that sub package and he listened… because he’s a big ole softy at heart.

And finally, plenty of Texans said they loved playing for OB (DB recent example who blamed Smith and Mcnair for his exit). Sure AJ wasn’t happy with him but that is more the harsh realization he is no longer an elite player. He did rejoin the staff as a coach.

WD40 also appeared to enjoy his time with OB. No issues with wanting to play for Texans under OB.

When you crossed OB, he didn't bench you for a game, he sent you packing for a sack of day old donut holes in return.

I wonder if they can discipline the whole team as a healthy scratch? Frustrations meeting realities...life of a Texans' fan. But I'm still gonna sip my :koolaid:; 8-9 in 2022 and 11-6 in 2023!

True he had a doghouse. But did not put out “disciplinary reasons” for why the player was inactive. Also, this admin has been shipping folks out pretty quick too!

Interception and fumble…..super fast start. Way to keep the defense on the field early and often.
