Takeaways from HTown @ Oilers wannabe

When it comes to evaluating QB performances, you know Steel has one set of criteria for Derrick and another for every QB not named Derrick. Because it's totally illogical, it's pointless to even discuss or try to rationalize it.

Derrick is who I thought he was, selfish on the field. Who would'e known that his selfishness would've extended to being a selfish Sexual Predator/Accused Sexual Assaulter/Pervert off the field.

I guess his selfishness knows no bounds.

You clearly show your bias, I have to say.

154 passing yards and 24 rushing yards in 2 games isn't "taking the team to the AFCG".
Tannehill rode Henry and the D to the AFCG.

And he disappeared again in the WC game last year, a loss.

Tannehill is a middle of the pack QB.

When the next QB ranking comes out, expect to see him fall below average.
If you take out the rookie QBs and a few young QBs out there this year, his ranking would have been much worse.

That's if you just look at the numbers and dont actually watch the games.

Once again numbers lie. They've been winning without Henry this yr, beating the best in the NFL. (Last Sunday playing in a rainstorm not withstanding.) That should be chapping your azz. But it's not because you've got your head buried in a bunch of worthless DVOA stats.

This just in, the games is played on the field and not on a computer screen full of stats. You need to try to get out more.

You've dug such a big hole for yourself that you'd better hope Watson never wins a ring. lol :winky:

I remember someone (probably Tex, iirc) that said Kubiak would never get another HC job, much less win a ring. We never heard that argument again after 2015.

Personally, I'm with you in hoping that Watson has a sucky career from here on out. Where I differ from your perspective is that I think he's capable. I just don't want him to win out of spite. lol

I was one of those that thought Kubiak wouldn't win a championship. Of course how was I to know that Kubiak would walk into Manning and an all time great defense coordinated by Wade.

It's possible Derrick could win a championship, but like Kubiak, he would have to get with a HC like Payton and change his playing style somewhat. What are the chances of that happening?

That’s true for everyone. Even Mahomes. Had he gone to Chicago I doubt he ever would get to the NFCCG.

Even Tom Brady. Had he gone to the Giants he wouldn’t have won a Super Bowl outside of New England.

You make me laugh.

It's true that stats don't show the full story. If you see the QB stats vs Tenn you think Taylor was utterly junk. 160 some yards, no TDs but hey, no INTs either. Yet you see the score and wonder who scored points. Not a RB a QB rushed for 2 TDs, our starter.

True also that stats can show alot. And in a HC case, it shows trends that are common in certain down and distance or when a D plays cover 3.

Brady has been lucky to have a great supporting cast and coaches. However, watching the comeback vs the Falcons...Brady and a decent D may have been able to get to a SB...if not win one...with next to nothing. He just has such an amazing ability to pull rabbits from hats

So did the numbers lie again this week for Tannie? :spit:
