The biggest question I have as it relates to position groups is, who will be the second leading receiver on this team? I’m pretty confident in Cooks as#1 but I’m intrigued to see who has the second most receptions/yards.

My guess is that it will be a TE.

Whoever the slot wr is.

The way the team is currently constructed, it's looking like our base formation will be two WR's and two TE's. We'll run and pass from this formation without a substitution or change of personell. Where the receivers line up - all on the same side, on opposite sides, as an H-back, will be play dependent.

There will be little disguise in our plays. Our receivers will have to run precise routes to gain separation and Taylor will have to make quick decisions and accurate throws.

Akins/the TE should be the second most looked for target. Although with only three primary targets, the spread should be pretty equal if this offense is to perform most efficently.

I don't see how a TE is the 2nd leading receiver when Kelly only recognizes them once every 3 games. I'd say a RB has a chance to be #2, but with 12 on the roster, that's highly unlikely.

I'm wondering who's going to be the leading rusher?

When they're behind, I bet they will run a lot of 3 WR setts.

Ingram, unless Lindsey breaks a bunch of long runs.

I still think we're holding so many rbs to trade one for a wr. Maybe couple an rb and 6th rd pick for a wr?

I’m actually leaning towards David Johnson leading the way on the ground. I wasn’t at all impressed with Phillip Lindsey in preseason and that kind of surprised me.

Maybe Johnson is the leading rusher AND the second leading receiver.

What’s the phrase…when you have 5 running backs you don’t have one?
That's really just about quarterbacks. If you have a couple of guys, then you don't have THE guy.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with running back by committee unless you're looking at it from a fantasy football perspective. It's possible to have a strong running attack even if you don't have a single thousand yard rusher on the team. I mean, just last year, the Ravens lead the league in rushing with Lamar Jackson getting 1005 yards and the Patriots were 4th in rushing with none of their RBs getting more than 700 yards. Granted, both of those specific cases had the QB adding a lot to the mix, but that looks exactly like what our offense is going to be.

I'm concerned about the secondary, I have a bad feeling that they will get torched more than a BP pipeline. There is not 1 player back there that I would say is above average and maybe only 1 or 2 are average. Having 1 good CB would allow 1 safety and the MLB to cover those open areas that are going to be natural to Lovie's defense.

Developing players and most importantly a new culture.
Winning creates culture. If you're bad, you can have all the culture guys you want. Where was this poor culture 2 years ago when the team was up on KC? The culture shifted with Esterbunny for the worse.

Yes the culture was poor. It's the reason I wanted BOB fired.

You need some vet leadership in a rebuild. IMHO

1 per room is enough and they have to be able to play. Ingram, cooks, britt,Taylor. Thats 1 per room. You dont need Johnson,Buckhead, Amendola, Cannon, thats overload.

TE Brown might be the guy to watch. My initial response to my own question, who would be the second in receiving yards this season was, a TE and so far Brown looks the part.

They have 4 old guys teaching Scottie Phillips how to sit on the bench.
And another six old guys to tutor Wallow.
No youth to be developed in the secondary.

It bothers me that he hasn't been practicing this week.

He practiced Friday. He had some bumps and bruises in the Jag game. Tuesday and Wednesday was just time off to give more recovery time. His playing against the Browns was never in doubt. He's pumped to play against his former team. Says he can turn off social media but he can't turn off his family, who live in Cleveland and are dawgs.
