Texans Minicamp, OTA’s and Preseason

I sure hope so... to other teams but give Heck a few more weeks then I think he can easily handle speed either inside or out. I am just a big fan of Charlie's.
I doubt Mario Williams ever made Duane Brown looked bad, but I'm sure he had his moments.

Hopefully that's what we got, iron sharpening iron. Time will tell.

I've no doubts that there are alot of folks who are outraged by what he has been accused of & will likely not support the Texans if this dude somehow winds up taking snaps for us this year.....

but this, & the fans cheering for this dude the other day....It just shows that that outrage in this created bubble of "opinion" here on this MB........... & on the screened callers on talk radio & their hosts who just "ride the wave" of it all for the sake of "entertaining radio"...it just shows that alot of it is somewhat overblown...how much, well, we'll see.

I agree, i just think that most of those who you'd have to sell it to won't be at NRG...& for those PSL owners who would be would in turn protest by selling their PSL's, im sure there'd be plenty of fans willing to buy them from them.

& this isn't even factoring in the extremely unlikely event that he plays and we start winning.....

You wish

Just look how many fans there were at the scrimmage compared to normal. Most fans that would stop rooting for the Texans would never be at that scrimmage due to Covid and the fat that this is the price Cal is going to have to pay for getting in bed with this POS.

I think that if DC can put an aggressive, well coached and disciplined football team on the field the fans will be back. People need something positive these days and football…and cooler weather…have always had that ability. I think a drawing factor could be as simple as a team that showcases a real change and a system and attitude that can produce wins as it continues to grow. That’s all I want to see this year and if so, at the end of the season, I’m looking forward to next year with a little more energy.

Watson missing 5 days, Texans hiring the Crisis Management firm, and Watson starting to take reps are all tied together. Basically, I think the Texans have told Watson the trade market is not there at the moment. If he want to play this season, it will have to be with the Texans. The 5 days was for Watson to huddle with his people and get his head around that. Texans have to prepare for the fall out of letting him play.

I agree with the reasoning and the fallout (initially). Initially…meaning as most fans always do, lose and the booing continues. Put a few games out of the gate in the win column and the boos will turn to cheers. Just the nature of the game.

As I mentioned in another post regarding the trading of Watson to the Eagles or Dolphins and both teams holding onto their young QB’s (Hurts & Tua) in the event Watson eventually faces charges criminally and/or the NFL suspending him. Having their young QB’s still on the team would bridge Watson’s absence for the time he’s out.

For the same reasons above, the Texans could benefit in the same manner. If the team can only move Watson with little return, then Caserio may be weighing the team’s options. The team has finally got Watson talking and as Scarface mentioned, there could be a mutual agreement that for all intensive purposes, Watson’s best move at the moment is to suit up and play for the Texans this season or until there’s a finality to his situation. If the finality (however it comes about) happens before the trade deadline…..maybe Caserio and the Texans have agreed to trade him. In either situation, it behooves Watson to come in and play his arse off for the Texans.

Again, having a motivated Watson and Taylor along with a strong developmental project at the position…..the Texans would have their strongest QB depth chart since becoming the Texans.

Also, this is a business and playing Watson initially may be disliked but a few wins would probably change the boos to cheers.…..but, if the court case delivers a guilty verdict then I want him to suffer the consequences. The good thing, during this process Taylor would be in the wings and Mills would continue his development from a much better position.

Some things are more important than football.

With Watson, this team will could win 7-9 games...if Lovie Smith is able to cobble together a cohesive unit. Lovie is a MUCH BETTER D-Coordinator than he is a HC (decent HC).

With Watson playing behind a better oline, better running back core. This team will win more than 9 games. Especially if Lovie can get this Defense to the middle of the pack or higher.

You are 100% correct but he hasn’t been legally charged with anything at the moment….hence his availability to be at the Texans practice facility and the Texans allowing him to participate to a certain degree at this time.

You know….the Texans may be waiting on word from the NFL offices on how they will proceed if Watson returns to practice for full participation. If Goodell is open to Watson returning and willing to wait on rendering his punishment until a verdict has been issued….it would give the Texans their best chance at receiving full value for Watson when they’re clear to trade him.

Again, I’m not going to condemn Watson until a guilty verdict has been issued. I do not like what he’s done to put him in this situation but no matter how I feel…..there’s a judicial system in place to handle this matter.
