76 I know you’ve seen the positive reviews/links about this young man too. Lol come on big timer. You’re just focused on the negatives to prove your point.
It's ok, all he has to do is listen to the local sports radio and/or podcasts.

Directly from PFN...

PFN's Chief Draft Analyst Tony Pauline has Mills ranked 64th overall on his draft board with a draft projection that lands him around the late-second to early-third-round range. This is far more reasonable than anything close to the first round as some want to speculate. Mills however would be a high to mid- first round pick had he stayed in school for the 2021 season.

All are against mediocre to poor defense.

"Mills was efficient as he completed 24-of-32 passing for 209 yards and a touchdown. Stanford pulled out another squeaker 24-23 over Cal."

What was left out; however:

- Stanford blocked a would-be tying extra point.
- The special team also recovered a botched punt.
- They blocked a FG just before the half.

Mills would have had 2 Ints, except:
- The defender dropped a sure one that goes right into his guts (with no other player around) (3rd qtr 13:27 in Stanford territory.)
- The other Int was called back due to a holding (on a receiver in the middle of the field that Mills never looked at; he was zeroing in on the other receiver from the get go. (3rd qtr 5:33, 2nd and 2)

- The Golden Bears ranked 48th in points allowed and finished the season 1-3

From PFN, just a different "scout"

Tony Pauline Scouting Report:

There’s definite appeal with Mills, and for old-school NFL minds, that appeal will be compounded. Mills has the size and arm talent to fit the prototypical passing mold. He also has a modest degree of toughness in the pocket. He’s not a liability on the ground, either. Having said that, there’s a lot Mills still has to clean up if he wants to eventually start in the NFL.

Mills is a pocket passer. As teams trend away from the pocket passer mold, Mills’ skill set is becoming increasingly outdated. For a pocket passer to succeed in the modern NFL, they have to be a lightning-quick processor with stellar decision making and ball placement.

Mills isn’t there yet in any of those categories. He could improve his placement with more consistent mechanics in the face of pressure, and NFL coaching may help him refine his mental game. But until that happens, he has a long way to go.

Who do y'all trust Shaw/Pep's evals or 76's?
7 QBs were drafted ahead of Mills.

We don't know how many other teams that may have decided not to go with a mid-round QB prospect and used the pick on another position.

The Bucs and the Vikings went with Trask and Mond.
(And the Vikings run the WCO, which would suit Mills well).
You tell me what they think about Mills.

I think they had Mond rated way to high.

So he had three 3 TD games, which accounted for half of his 18 career TD, meaning he had 9 TD in his other 10 games he played in. And in 2 of his 3 TD games he had 5 of his career 8 INT.

Just for kicks and giggles, here's some recent 3rd rounders and what they did in their last 11-14 college games, of which all came in 1 season.

Will Grier - 11 G, 37 TD/8 INT
Mason Rudolph - 13 G, 37/9
Davis Webb - 12 G, 37/12
Cody Kessler - 14 G, 29/7
DAVIS MILLS - 13 G (spanning 2 seasons), 18/8

And as mentioned above, 7 QBs were taken ahead of Mills, including Trask and Mond.
Kyle Trask - 12 G, 43/8
Kellen Mond - 10 G, 19/3

Even the Texans own Ryan Finley, who was a 4th rounder had 25/11 in his last 13 games.

And let's not forget Mills wouldn't even have been a starter at Stanford if not for the injury and then transfer of KJ Costello.

I get the hope because he's on your team now and you want it to work out, but you can't look past some of this stuff. And if you want to come back with, but Russell Wilson, but Dak Prescott......well Wilson's last 14 games, 33/4, Prescott - 13 G, 29/5. And Dak went in the 4th round. And at the end of the 4th round at that. I don't see how Mills should have been any higher than that, but our beloved squad gets him at the top of the freaking 3rd. To be fair though, I think the Vikings taking Mond where they did was a big reach.

And Pep Hamilton's influence? I've already broken down all the QBs he's worked with in the past decade around here somewhere. Not that impressive a list with only top of the draft talent (Luck & Herbert) having done anything in this league.

He beat Costello out that's why Costello transferred. Yes, you showed those stats but they're skewed. He started 6 games 2 yrs ago (The 1st of his college career and a learning experience) and got hurt. Then last yr he played 5 games (Missing 1 because of a false positive Covid test.) with very little practice time and all games being played on the road due to Newsome's dictatorship in California.

So yes, he is and should be behind those QB's you listed in their developmental stages. And yes, that's where he currently is.

What’s most interesting to me is to see the round the clock odd hours folks post here. We’ve got some true night owls.
Many Texans fans reside in different time zones. Until this year, I was always participating on the TT message board from Bahrain, Warsaw, Poland, and Naples, Italy. This season, I’m enjoying the TTMB from Monterey, CA. Come June and July.....me and my wife will finally be in Atascocita, TX. Then we’ll be heading out one more time for Europe. At least the last tour should allow us to get back home a lot more often. You folks just can’t imagine how much we’re looking forward to this.....being around family and old/new friends. Oh, we’ll definitely be catching an Astros game or two while in town.

The INTs didn't happen, just like the NFL. If a penalty or drop happen it's not an INT. Stanford isn't a great team, you put a blocked kick as something that is not reported. However, that is not on the W
QB it's on the STs. So, what REALLY matters is that Mills only threw 1 INT that was called back.

I live in Atascocita! I work at Bike Barn. Great place to live and great place to work. A lot of people who have knowledge of things in sports will tell a bike shop employee a lot. Afterall, we cycle not watch football...🤣. Reality, most of us watch football.

When I get to town.....we’ll have to get many TT folks together for a breakfast and morning of football talk. It would be a blast to put faces to these names.

Ok guys....is Saturday mornings the best time for those who would like to get together or a weekday morning?

I should be pulling up to the house we bought online 2 years ago....but never set a foot in around the 4th of June. I’ve been managing a remodel from Monterey, CA in preparation for our arrival. We’ll have HHG’s delivered and I’ll need a few days to get everything cleaned and setup. I’m thinking anytime after the 16th or the first Saturday (19th) would be great if it works for the group. Any recommended breakfast locations?

As long as it's NOT a Waffle House. IHOP is fine, or some other place, just not a Waffle House.

Waffle House >>>> IHOP. I have to question your culinary tastes.
Not the one on Westheimer where I live. It's dirty and filthy and I won't get near the place after my one visit there. Don't know about their other locations.

Westheimer no longer has the reputation of elegant dining. I've been to both Waffle House and IHOP in the westchase area. Try Frank's Grill down the road. You'll thank me later.
Looked at the menu.....it looks good.

Mills did not beat out Costello (who wasn't all that to begin with).
