Sexual Assault Suits Against Watson

Yes, Lopez and Locker, they have been discounting the charges the entire time.
They turned an about-face this afternoon and began realizing the real possibility that the Texans will cut Watson. If they can get some relief from that contract and the dead cap that would come from cutting him, I believe the Texans will cut him. And if that happens I imagine someone will give him a second chance...unless his legal woes turn really, really dark, cross over to a violent nature. But I think that would have come out already.

You do know if Watson was traded and The Texans knew of these allegations the penalties for that would be severe

Also, as multiple people have pointed out, even the trade was agreed to when he asked for one, it wouldn't have been final until Mar 17, according to NFL rules. Buzbee started filing his cases before then.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a trial like this. Buz is winning the public opinion vote. Was a win for him on the day. 22 is a lot to overcome and testimony I heard sounded somewhat genuine.

Dw , if found innocent on all accounts, may have a strong case for slander but he'll never get back endorsement money he could've had.

I'm beginning to get the feeling we'll get nothing for dw and he won't see the field again...

Welcome to the texan implosion.

Good question. Another thing of AJ had a problem with players not being able to voice their opinions. Why did he sign an extension back then. Why did he agree to be apart of the coaching staff here. And I’m pretty sure he knew what Watson was doing behind the scenes.
AJ hated Rick. Rick never listened to him, blew him off. He signed because that's the only way you got paid. Rick screwed over Uncle Milton and Mr. McNair made him redo the contract. Andre didn't think Easterby was qualified for the position Cal gave him. (He wasn't.) Whatever Watson was doing has nothing to do with AJ.

Yes. Buzbee is going after the Texans as well. NFL is about to have a very big problem.
May be why they’re only seeking minimum jurisdictional reward now. Lay the groundwork, get a favorable decision, then go after the big dogs with bottomless pockets; the Texans & the NFL. Maybe the city of Houston too considering some of the comments about police response.

the most I can imagine they may have known is if he came to the Texans and told them he had like a sex addiction or something and they in turn tried to get him counseling & help & there’s a paper trail...but that still doesn’t reflect badly on the Texans.

the only way it would imo is if he EXPLICITLY told them some of the things he did and they didn’t do anything at all or tried to cover it up.

but Buzzbee potentially coming for the Texans blows up those theories some STILL maintain of the Texans being behind this whole lawsuit.
Or one of the victims contacted the Texans director of player personnel.

All it takes is one of them admitting that they knew something about Watson and Instagram being used to find women. We lowly fans have been hearing that rumor ever since Nuk was traded.
If anything that falls under prostitution & that’s forgivable... understandable. The public really doesn’t care.

Sexual assault is totally different & no one was thinking Hopkins was turning Watson on to that.

Should've dumped him when they had the chance.

On that note notice how Hopkins has stayed totally radio silent on this. I don’t know that Hopkins had anything to do with this but I’d say he is trying to stay totally out of this.

Rule number 1 of a lawsuit, go after the deepest pockets you can.

So the next step is possibly ending Watson’s career and directly killing his new big contract to see if that works.

Aren't these mutually exclusive? Why would he ever want to kill his contract, wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose.

Apparently somebody was at least thinking he was turning him onto something not good...that’s part of why the guy was shipped out wasn’t it?
Yes.

parties, prostitutes, maybe drugs. Those are the kind of things the Texans we’re trying to keep Watson away from.

To say they thought hanging with Hopkins would turn Watson into a rapist is preposterous. Or that they had an inkling he was raping women... that’s unsubstantiated.

No I understand that, I just don’t think any of us know exactly what the Texans brass thought bad influence Nuk was turning him onto. We know Tiger got turned out once he went to a party in Vegas with MJ and co....Could be all that partying with Nuk is what got DW4 turned out and he just lost control of it at a certain point.

Watson isn’t getting the lion’s share of that for a couple of years and that’s assuming his contract goes normally which odds of that happening are about the chances a snowball has down below. He already got the 27 million signing bonus so there is that income plus the 10 million he’ll make this year. Not to mention the endorsements, previous salary and whatever else.

Trust me in the short term there is plenty of money to go around to a Buzbee and all his clients even Watson’s career is over. Now Watson won’t have anything left after that and not sure how he’d pay Hardin but something tells me Buzbee doesn’t care about that.

The ironic part is that Hopkins might have been keeping Watson in check and in trying to help the situation Texans made it worse. Now I’m not blaming the Texans for that because they were trying to protect their biggest investment and Watson is responsible for his own actions but it’s still ironic.

Are you expecting him to get ANY endorsements ?

And as good as Hardin has been in the past he seems outmatched here

Buzbee is wiping the damn deck with him.. Even flipped and discredited his entire "list of eighteen" defense WITH evidence in one freaking press conference..

For the people who keep bitching and moaning Buzbee is only doing this for the money and not justice for his clients, please just shut up.. Of coarse He's doing it to get paid (Since when did we start attacking people for getting financially compensated for their skills?), but why can't he be doing it for money, public recognition, and also justice for his clients? Just because the ends of the "right thing to do" meets both self serving and serviceable motives, that doesn't make Buzbee a POS.. Back in the day, that used to be called a damn "win/win" or having your cake and eating it too..

Rusty Hardin despite a winner's reputation just took on a impossible case to win, his win record be damned.. Why?, because of money! Watson will send him off into retirement with a big fat stinky fist full of cash.. EVERYONE is about to be paid by Watson and it's no one's fault, but Deshaun Watson's

I thought we hit a SB homerun when we drafted this kid, thought he was a good kid, and a future star. Well atleast that home he bought for Mama is in the free and clear of this mess, because if all of this goes where it appears to be going, Deshaun may be living in that home with Mama upon his release.. from prison.

I've been thinking long and hard about this whole mess and I can honestly say (again if the situation ultimately goes where I'm thinking it's going to end up) I can't remember a bigger fall from grace in sports history.. Given the wasted rare athletic ability, wasted legacy, and wasted earning potential, biggest fall from grace in sports history imo.

Even by the slim chance he doesn't get criminally convicted. He's already cost himself a incalculable amount in the hundreds of millions of dollars given his talent at the position he played and the earning potential that position brings in today's league.. and He pissed it all away for what? Seeking out perverted rub downs and happy endings? There will be no happy ending to this story, I feel so bad for his mother right now.

Personally, I think he will need a near miracle to play in the NFL again.
Texans need to distance themselves from Watson asap - if not sooner.
We ain't getting ANY draft picks for him unless we receive a compensatory pick/s.
I dunno, do you think they will lock him up ?

Comp picks is all we get ? OK I sure have no idea how this will play out, so you may very well be right.

This post is nothing more than an attempt to invalidate those that said I told you so.

Fact is you're on an island backing a prevert at best and a sexual preditor at worst and nobody revels in this, or atleast I dont and I think you're passively agreesively referring to me and maybe a couple of other posters who knows a phony when they see one. Frankly I find this post dismissive and offensive considering the charges that have been brought and more that are going to brought. I cant wait as one of our posters said what's coming out tomorrow from Buzbee will be a have your popcorn ready moment. I'm personally going to sit back and enjoy the entertainment and you cant say the phony lifestyle DW4 is living and all of his dirty laundry coming out isn't entertaining.

Tuesday came and went.

Have any minds been changed since now a face can be seen in relation to these allegations?

We won't get a comp pick, thats just for a player leaving in F/A. Right now there are only two real scenarios. One, Texans keep holding his contract in the hope that someday this might get cleared up and he can play free and clear but then they will have to start paying him at some point to possibly sit at home. Two, they cut him and if they can pressure Goodell to put him on the exempt list then they can cut him and completely void his contract so they are only out the 10 million they would owe him for the 2021 season but then he is free and clear to sign with another team.

For the Texans its a damned if you do, damned if you don't, do you cut your loses now or do you ride the storm in the hopes that its not a Cat 5 hurricane.
