That 5% figure is disputed. Not to mention, I don't know what it appears like. The sexual abnormality, or "other specified sexual dysfunction" might be the symptom of another disorder. Unlikely but a mental health specialist would need to conduct a psychosocial assessment and develop a diagnosis based upon the assessment and subsequent interviews. And of course we still should reserve judgment on any of this until he either admits wrongdoing or is found guilty of such. I know that's hard to do right now, I'm having difficulty withholding judgment myself but that's our process.

Before I say this, I'm pretty sure this is a sock puppet/troll account, so I'm guessing it's probably one of the people on this board that has political objections to Buzbee...maybe not, I don't know? I guess I'll take the bait.

At this point I don't know what to say about someone who would post this. This is the weirdest victim blaming post I've ever seen. I'm guessing they've never looked into victims of sexual assault. As noted in one of the other posts in thread, victims of sexual assault routinely freeze up or mentally disassociate themselves while the assault is taking place, only to suffer mental, emotional and physical side effects well after the trauma occurred.

I can't imagine someone who hated someone's political leanings so much that they actually don't care that some guy is using his power to assault women sexually. The attorney of the victims has a fiduciary duty to represent them as best he possibly can so you may disagree with his tactics, but he's doing a great job to bring media attention to a very serious issue. The fact that people are talking about this nonstop, nationwide, shows that his tactics are working. I refuse to condemn Watson until his has his day in court (a right in which everyone is entitled) but it really doesn't look good for him. Assuming that he actually did even a third of this stuff without consent, he is a danger to society and should be separated from the rest of us.

I'm pretty sure the sexual deviancy comment that Steelb is talking about has more to do with the fact he is supposedly RAPING WOMEN and clearly (assuming that these allegations aren't false) gets sexual gratification on the power he has over these women. I think it has little to do with the textbook definition of the word. But don't take my word for it, ask him. If you think that a multi-million dollar transcendent athlete and media darling, sexually assaulting women is within the purview of "normal" sexual behavior, it says a lot about you. Wonder how you would feel if a female relative or friend had this happen to her?

I bet it's a complete coincidence, but isn't it totally random that these two people post around the same time as each other and both 1.) Put a space between the last word in a sentence and punctuation when it's not a period; and 2.) Both have to resort to name calling the attorney of the victims using the word "butt". They both probably have some sort of anal fixation. Anyways, like I said...it's probably just a total coincidence.
 
I dont think anyone REALLY knew what he was up to. It appears DW4 hid his proclivities really well... and rightfully so considering some of the illegal things and frankly embarrassing things that he allegedly did/likes.

what these lawsuits reveal is that he apparently got away with this behavior for quite a while and began to feel comfortable and subsequently got “sloppy”...which is typically how criminals of all types tend to get caught.

not necessarily..the person Buzzbee referenced as being “close to the team” could’ve been acting on her own in saying the things she said...things like “ I can report it to the VP of player personnel, but they don’t do much”...comes off more as an opinion than a statement of fact that she did report it to them. They’d need to prove that she actually did report it.

The problem is that many women use the sexual assault allegation as a weapon and/or for monetary gain. I do understand why real vicitms are afraid to come forward in regards to sexual assault but part of the problem is the proven false accusations that make it harder for real victims to come forward.

That would have to depend on circumstances. It would be wrong to penalise someone who had no knowledge.

You're trying to divide posters by pushing a non-existent narrative of posters in denial mode or defending Watson. Besides comments regarding "innocence until proven guilty", I have yet to see anyone defending or willing to die on a hill for Watson. Just because most posters don't have happy endings calling Watson trash does not mean they are in denial mode or naïve enough to disregard the seriousness of these allegations.

Up to 80% of rapes go unreported. False accusations make up a tiny part of those that are reported. Pretty easy to see what the bigger part of the problem is.

I think one of the suits mentioned a equipment manager brokering the potential payoff of one of the ladies. If true, I could see the Texans saying bye. I found it strange that someone in that role would be a go between, but maybe go back and read the 22 filing overview that was posted, too lazy now

You make a good point. Rarely do these cases involve millionaires and civil suits. However when they do you can't overlook that fact.

That being said it appears DW4 will have a hard time proving his innocence. He will wish he paid these women off with the small percentage of his money he would have had to pay these women.

If what DW4's accused of doing is true I want him to do jail time.

What he's admitted to doing is something a trashy person would do. You can feel free to disagree with me, but if my opinions divide posters on this topic, I've got no problem with the division. This is a right or wrong position for me, there's no middle ground and if people like you want to muddy the waters then that's fine with me. I will continue to not only have my opinion on this topic, but will continue to share my opinion on this topic. Trash is trash and at this point I dont even care about draft capital. I just want justice to be carried out to it's fullest in this case. Why? Because no woman should be subjected to what these women were subjected too. This isn't a 1 time thing where maybe there was miscommunication. If it was I would be all for giving DW4 a 2nd chance. That's not what this is about. This is about a famous person preying on vunerable women. (Allegedly) For this, if convicted DW4 should spend many yrs in Huntsville if convicted. Truth isn't very smart or got terrible advice, he should've settled these cases regardless of cost. Why? because there's a good chance he could lose his freedom because of his poor decisions. I guess he thought he could get away with anything. What he failed to take into account is that Buzbee is better at what he does (Defending his clients) than what DW4 is at what he does. (NFL QB)

Rule number 1 of a lawsuit, go after the deepest pockets you can. That said I don’t believe Buzbee will really try and go after the Texans because he would have to prove either they knew about it or that they were negligent both of which would be almost impossible to prove unless one or more of the women went to the Texans which doesn’t make sense on a lot of levels.

Even if he could prove the Texans suspected something the responsibilities of a work place to monitor the behavior and actions of their employees outside working hours or the actual work place are very small. Again he would basically have to prove that Watson committed some of these acts while on team time, aka during a game or practice, or that he brought them into the team facility, aka NRG, and then committed the acts.

I’m guessing a Buzbee is doing this to put pressure on the Texans and the NFL to basically disown Watson which, judging by the McNair letter, appears to be working. Honestly I’m kind of getting a feeling that Watson is still holding out from settling or even talking about settling. That maybe why Hardin has been so quite because he still has to follow the wishes of his client even if those wishes are stupid. If Watson has said “I’m not settling anything” then Hardin’s hands are tied.

Despite how self righteous some want to be about this Buzbee’s job is to get as much money for his clients as possible. It’s not his job to investigate, that’s law enforcements job, it’s not his job to prosecute, that’s the DA’s job, again his job is just to get his clients whatever money he can.

Let’s be very clear about this, and this isn’t directed at you TB just your post is the perfect springboard.

When Buzbee talks about Watson’s QB coach he is talking about his PERSONAL QB coach, Mr “asking for a friend”. That is Quincy Avery who is in no way associated with the Texans nor paid by the Texans. He is completely paid for by Deshaun Watson himself, most Texans have to do with him is give him access to the team facilities and training area with Watson which is very common in all sports.

If a Texans employee setup the masssages the Texans could possibly be liable and by abstention the NFL.

One way or another Buzbee is going to get his clients paid. Either by settlement or at trial. DW4 has an obvious pattern to his perverted actions. Of course there could be a WOF on the jury.

Still doesn’t tie the Texans, it’s like if the water boy turned out to be a drug dealer as long as it wasn’t on Texans property, and given the way NRG ownership is set up the argument could be made that it’s not Texans property, or on the Texans time then it’s not worth Buzbee’s time.

The ironic part is that as much as we have ragged on the Texans for being set up like a corporation in this case that might be their greatest weapon because corporations long ago learned how to protect themselves from this kind of thing in ways that traditional football teams haven’t.
