2021 NFL Draft

Any names that pop out to you for us to potentially go after?
UH WR Marquez Stevenson is a fast WR that can be utilized on WR screens, reverses, as well as deep routes. Thin and speedy like the KC WRs.

Paddy Fisher out of Northwestern is a run plugging ILB. The Texans can use one or two of those.

Would one of you bright young guys with a clear and quick mind, lay out all of our draft picks please ? Seems like only yesterday that ……..

Gotta package some of those late rd picks to move up into the 4th rd (The sweet spot in this draft) or the 5th rd where you should be able to find a good RB/OL. (My picks would be Bryan Robinson/Landon Young or CB Kelvin Joseph.)

Safer for the players. Not sure how it's safer for the older, more at risk, scouts, coaches, and medical staffs.

Those that be, won't take it as seriously as we draft-nicks do, but if they would get super-focused, I think they could get all thousand or fifteen hundred inoculated in time …. heard last night they were near to releasing a one shot vaccine !

What position groups do y’all want us to address this draft?

Ideally I’d love CB, DL, and WR.

CB/LB/NT/Edge/RB in no particular order.

They should be able to find 3 good players in the 3rd/4th rds.

I would even consider trading up into the top of the 4th 4th using a 5th and one of the 6ths and a 7th.

I think with 3 4th including 2 high 4ths they could add

3rd Say a LB/S type guy. I like LSU LB/S Jacoby Stevens. He can cover TE's and can play nickel LB.

4th- Tommy Tongia DT Ohio St.
4th Kylin Hill RB Miss St.
4th Kelvin Joseph CB Kentucky

Yep, and the start of the complete reset is using the picks from trading DW4 to rebuild the team.

I just don’t think the Texans are capable of netting fair value for Deshaun Watson, haven’t proven it yet under previous 3 GM’s what makes you certain 4th one is the charm? Then there is that pesky little process of making great, sound picks in the draft....,

What would you consider fair value?

Two 1sts
Two 2nds

Taking on a bad contract or getting a player like Xavien Howard or Quinnen Williams. Would be my idea of fair value.

The way we play our wide receivers they need to be built like fullbacks. I really hope we change our offense and defense philosophies.

Picks are worthless until proven otherwise. My confidence with Texan war room is shot and until Easterby is out, I’m out. Would have to be another proven QB who would fit the new coaches profile and system he wants to run. We don’t know who that is yet, even though the Texans were first franchise to fire their head coach. Meanwhile all the other vacancies around the NFL filled.
Seems to me Texans are unraveling as we speak. Don’t think you could possible make a sound decision now. So you don’t trade Watson until the pieces you have start coming together, not until you know for sure what your pathway to success is.

I have followed Paddy Fisher for 2 years and he does get Stats and he can tackle but there's just something about the guy that I can't get excited about. He returned to school to increase his draft position And I think it actually fell.

How do you think the NFL would weather combine players and etcetera getting vaccine before doctors, First Responders?

I'm good waiting until after the next HC's team is knocked out of the playoffs to make the hire and put DW4 on the block.

Obviously I have more faith in Caserio than you do. I do believe he will be making the calls on the draft/fa/trades and Easterby won't have anything to do with these things.

What combine? They canceled it.
Did you read the post I was quoting? Justmy2cents said he thought they could inoculate everybody by the date of the Usual combine. I was addressing his comment. :shetexan:
Sorry. Talks of canceling got me all emotional. Been reading some stuff. I’m thinking it’s not canceled

Why wouldn't the little circles (w/ 2021 NFL Combine Logo) placed on the ground at a distance of 8' apart (xtra safety) work? Helle, they seem to work in every other application in the US. Boys could even wear a 2021 NFL Combine logo'd face mask until it's time to perform. I see a whole lot of impotent folks wearing a mask and then get in front of a microphone and whip it right off when they're ready to talk. Common logic would say, get the NFL Combine back onto the schedule b/c OptimisticTexan has supplied a sure fire solution and marketing slant......for free.

Right, @TexansFan15 was asking about potential late round picks. In the late rounds, Fisher would be a bargain pick. He's not a 1st or 2nd day pick because he won't be an every down LB in the league. But a run stuffer still has some value, especially if you're playing in the run heavy AFC South.

It's all silly if you ask me. They've played a full season with lot more contact than they'll be subject to at the combine.

It's not possible. By trading a franchise QB, you are making the assumption that you will be able to find another with the bounty of picks you get back. The odds are, you won't get one. That makes the trade an automatic fail.

now if a select few, on this board, could have input, like you, then maybe a chance? Otherwise you succinctly made my point.

I think the safest answer to that one is …. " That's beyond my pay grade !" However, I know whose pay grade it's not beyond …. Roger Goodell …. $40 million per year …. gotta be child's play for him !!
