My choices for HC/OC/DC

Here are my top 2 HC/OC/DC

HC:
1. Eric Bieniemy- been in KC for the past 3 seasons and has had an well oiled offense. It doesn’t bother me that Reid does most of the play calling since with the right OC he won’t have to do it either. Plus Patrick Mahoney raves about him.
2. Leslie Frazier- Buffalo’s defense looked pretty damn good this past weekend. He’s a players coach which could hopefully help calm the waters in the locker room.

OC:
1. Tim Kelly- Watson has stated that Kelly had really helped take his game to the next level. I’d like to continue with that progress.
2. Jon Embree- 49ers TE coach has had success in multiple destinations. Hopefully he’d be able to develop our position group some more.
3. Bill Callahan- OL coach for the Browns. This is a guy that could really help our OL improve and protect DW.

DC:
1. Teryl Austin- had been associated with some excellent defenses.
2. Eric Henderson- young coach that Aaron Donald raves about his coaching style. He could possibly bring some new life.

Who are y’all’s top choices?

Give DW4 what he really wants

Bienemy and an entire minority staff.

I really hope this happens.

My top choice is fewer threads on this same subject.

the coaching staff doesnt matter if the front office is useless
I disagree. Owners have been saved by coaches & players throughout the history of the league.

Rams, Patriots, Cowboys, Arizona. You get lucky & a coach plus player (specifically QB) & you look like a genius even though you do the same crap crap owners do.

With DeShaun, Caserio, & a good coach, Cal could’ve looked like a genius.

I want alignment and chemistry. Hire the HC, and let him hire the OC and DC. A Bieniemy & Kelly combo would not work IMO.

well i would help if coaches actually want to come here and do business

This is coming from a guy who “used” to make a post for my own opinion. Please do not do this. Because unless you are a player, or a member of the organization no one here cares what you think. Post in the correct threads.

I am saying there should not be multiple people making there own thread to get more people to look at there opinion there is several threads Where people post there opinions on who they would want.

Correct me if im wrong but I think I read the other one was arthur Smith or daboll, cant remember which one. So the idea of watson wanting just a minority HC is way off imo
Watson never mentioned Arthur Smith or Daboll. He only mentioned Eberflus in response to a question.

The only candidate Watson spoke openly about was Bieniemy. But that also in response to a question asked.

So I don't know which candidates Watson asked to consider

You care enough to post that we shouldn't be allowed opinions.

The creation of this thread. There should not be a thread for someone’s personal opinion. There are plenty of threads about coaching.
Wait, are you freaking Mr. Pancake himself?

What about Eberflus? While I have you engaged, tell me again why you don't like EB
Eberflus- OK, IMHO but doesn't move the needle for me.

Bienemy-I dont like the fact that he's had roughly 10 interviews over the past 2 yrs and nobody has hired him. There has to be a reason. The fact that he hasn't called plays, The track record of guys on the Reid tree like Pederson/Nagy.

Then you get into the personal stuff, like helping coverup a rape while an asst coach at Colorado. (You know the kinda stuff that has Briles being a pariah) Hitting a female parking attendant and although I dont have as big a problem with the DWI's as some, they're there on his record.

The good that can come of this is Cuck cant take the high ground about the Texans Worthy BS after this hire. Time to add some of the Tyreke Hill's/Frank Clark's of the world.

Tom Brady was passed over by every team in the league six times. Sometimes people misjudge talent.

and you don’t like super bowl winning and playoff caliber coaches? Interesting.

Again.... no one is forcing you to read this post. Are you a moderator asking me to post in a HC thread? (this thread also includes OC and DC)
If no one cares what I think, why are you wasting your time posting in the thread?

Who's misjudging talent?

If they want to go with an HC for the Offense I would've hired LaFluer. His brother seems to be doing pretty well for the Packers.

Using your standards Josh McDaniels should be the next Texans HC. He's got many rings, EB only has 1.

Why does it matter if he calls plays if he can lead men? How many plays have Harbaugh and McDermott called? How many plays have Tomlin called?

Back to the interview part, how many minority head coaches are there in the NFL right now? The same was said about Sherman Lewis, yet everyone who worked under him got head coaching and he didn't get the chance. Its the same narrative they used then and are still using.

As DC's I'm sure Mcdermott and Tomlin made many calls.

I would have hired Lewis.

But I don't know anything about his background. Let's face facts, any billion dollar business doesn't want a guy ( it doesn't matter what race) as its CEO with EB's rapsheet.

Except Josh had his opportunity. EB hasn’t.

Eric is more than qualified for his shot. But using he hasn’t been hired yet as a reason not to hire him is stupid.

I can agree that he deserves a shot. However there is a reason why teams are saying “No” to him and it is not due to the the reason low brow people give.

What qualifies EB to be a HC? His offenses at Colorado were atrocious with him as OC and it's well known that Reid designs the game plans and calls the plays in KC. How does that make EB "more than qualified for his shot"? I wouldn't use his inexperience as a HC against him, I'd use his inexperience as a coordinator and the results of his career in Colorado against him.
I'd rather see an OC who has actual experience, and success, in that role get a shot before EB. Just my :twocents:

I couldn't care less about his wiki page or any youthful transgressions. Look at his his teams offensive (in more ways than one) production when he was an OC who actually had to game plan and call games.

In a day and age where college football scores more closely resemble basketball, EBs offenses appeared to be playing baseball.
From everything I have read, he's pretty much OB II without the bad attitude and HC experience.
I absolutely do not want a HC hired based on ethnicity, regardless of said ethnicity. I want the best HC for the Houston Texans hired.
If EB is hired as the next Texans HC, I hope he is the next BB and lets his coordinators coordinate their respective sides of the ball and he is more of a director than hands on coach.

I read somewhere that he doesn’t interview well, but that’s the only thing I read. Both Alex Smith and Patrick Mahomes have sang his praises.
It would be highly unusual for players such as Mahomes and Smith to call out a coach publicly. It's simply not done by players or coaches unless that coach had a very public bad reputation. See also Hopkins and O'Brien.
