Tom Brady.......

Man, you said it. I was about to say something along these lines, but you said it better!!!
I can't believe I'm saying this about the GOAT. But who wants to build around Brady? He will be 43 at the start of the 2020 season. Any honest observer will say his velocity (never his best trait) as eroded to the point of being a huge detriment. He still has the instincts, but even Tom knows he can't put the ball into tight windows, anymore. I think Belichick is ready to move on from Brady.

I think it's time for Tom Terrific to say goodbye.
I watched Brady several times this year, and he's definitely not what he was. He's also hearing footsteps and chunking the ball away when anyone gets close. Only way he'd work is if he could get in a PManning situation, where the D was good enough to cover for his eroding skills.

You didn't watch hardly anything if you're actually blaming him for all of the throw aways. He had no protection almost all season with 4 and sometimes 5 of his main blockers being out all year and his receivers almost never open down field when the play developed and you could see their routes. His throwaways were exactly what he was coached to do in order to keep the ball safe and hold the possession. They had a great defense so they didn't need Brady pressing the issue for scores like in other seasons. It would have just increased in more INT's being thrown, because he would have just been throwing a lot more jump balls for people to fight over since his receivers lacked separation all season. When a 34 year old slot WR white guy is your best WR for several years for a QB that is 43 what exactly are you expecting out of that QB? Another MVP season?

His skills are eroding, but he's still very much capable. He probably has about another year left of high end play before we see a Peyton Manning-esque drop off.

It's the changing of the guard. Eli has retired. Rivers was shown the door. Big Ben will try to return. Does anyone expect he's got much left?

No one loves the game more than Tom Brady. No one has worked harder and prepared more. He should see the writing on the wall, but his love of football won't allow it. His wife mentioned his concussions a couple of years ago. She wants him to retire. Brady needs to listen to her. His Super Bowl days are over, in New England or anywhere else.

That's always been the case when his protections has broken down...........which this past year was often due to his OL and WR situation.

Brady's not done winning championships.

He's just done winning championships in Foxboro.

I hope he winds up in Vegas and not in Indy/Nashville.

Posters were saying these same things about Brady falling off when Peyton and the Broncos made the SB one yr and won the SB the next yr. Guess what, the Pats invested in the OL and got Brady somebody to threaten the defense vertically and more SB's followed. What was really wrong with Brady this yr is Gronk retired.

Posters are really wanting Brady to fade away so badly. He will eventually but these guys are going to have to wait awhile for this to happen if Brady moves on to another team that has weapons. If he goes to Vegas they have exactly the type of TE (Waller) and a good OL that Brady needs to be successful. Imagine if Juedy falls to 12 and they can pair him up with Juedy/Waller/Williams/Renfroe. Then the Raiders will be able to go toe to toe with the Chiefs.

The 2 yr 60 mil offer means the Raiders are wanting star power and a championship contender for Vegas in their 1st yr. If anybody can pull this off it's Mayock/Gruden.

This is the same braintrust that traded for Antonio Brown and gave him a mega contract.

Brady to the Raiders will be like Dream to the Raptors or Jordan to the Wizards. Sad and forgetful.

A sign of a good org is admitting your mistakes and quickly moving on.

2 totally different things you're talking about. Last yr Brady wasn't good because the OL was hurt and Gronk retired. You can just keep on wishing Brady's done but it's not happening this yr if he chooses to move on from the Pats.

He just needs weapons and the Raiders/Colts/Tacks and even Tampa gives him what he's missed the last 2 yrs in Foxboro. (One of which he won a SB with a great throw to Gronk)

wonder what Brady could do on the Raiders with Hopkins and Henry Rugg's the Third?

First, we can’t possibly know yet if the Raiders have a good organization after 1 season. We do know they made a very questionable move that backfired.

Second, Brady had as much responsibility as anyone for his lack of 2019 production. He’s worked with worse receivers and worse lines. His lack of arm has shrunk the field for him. It won’t get better bring a year older. And starting over with a new organization is the worst possible scenario.

I believe in Natick/Geudwn.

Do you think it's a coincidence that Gronk retired and Brady struggled? As far as the other WRs go those guys were so bad they traded for Sanu at the deadline. So I respectfully agree to disagree.

You disagree that 43 year old Brady has lost arm strength, or that it doesn’t matter? Of course Gronkowski retired. He was taking a beating. Brady would be wise to follow his lead.

Has he lost arm strength? Sure

Has he lost arm strength to the point he can't be effective? No. IMHO

How much arms strength do you think he's lost in the last 2 years? A 60 mil offer from the Raiders suggests they think he can still get it done.

You can justify that $60 mil on marketing alone.

How much arm strength had Brady lost? Too much.

There were times when Brady reminded me of Brad Johnson in his later years. Every once in a while he could still zing one, but way too often he could not.

I'm actually surprised to see people saying he hasn't. It was pretty obvious if you watched his games.

Why don't you show some examples where his arm strenth was significantly lost.

Who was the deep threat on that team? I'd really like to hear this.

Most games Brady had very little time to throw the ball and guys couldn't even get open on short routes much less deep routes, so I'm not sure where you're getting this from since you aren't using examples to show this. Brady was pushing ball down the field very well in the last few games when he needed to make big throws if guys were open. He may have missed some throws, but he wasn't having major arm strength issues.

Brady is not getting much more than $30 m NE willing to offer and no other team gives him greater opportunity to go back to SB. As of now I think had and Peerson return to their teams. Probably Dak also.

I think Brady would have a strong chance to do big things in Chicago if given the opportunity.

Same might be said about the Chargers if he wanted to play in CA....given he's from San Mateo. It's next door to San Francisco but the 49's are in no need of a QB.

Agree but I would think Brady wants to add to his SB record not get another team part way into playoffs at that.

If it were me.....Bears may be in a better position than the Patriots. Bears are truly a QB away from competing with the 49's, Packers, and Saints.

I think Brady would like to solidly his GOAT status by leading another team to the Super Bowl provided the right vehicle presents itself.

The Brady reporting all together has been really irritating. They come up with a new fantasy idea every other day and some new report that really isn't worth its salt all together.

I'd stop paying attention to it and just wait until a real update happens. The stronger odds are that he stays with the Patriots at this point to me.

I highly doubt he thinks he has to solidify anything. Now, if he wants to ride into the sunset with another ring, he might think there's a better option out there than NE, but there ain't anything he has to prove anymore.

He absolutely feels like he has a lot to prove. The media including yourself were all running around acting like he was playing like garbage last season when he wasn't. He had a ton of smears from people that either weren't watching or were just waiting for the right season to swear that Brady was dying. Brady was miserable all season playing with all of those problems going on around him, and with his injury that plagued him a tad down the end of the season. He wants to prove that Belicheck was wrong AGAIN. He wants to prove that fans/haters were wrong about how he played last season, and he doesn't want to go out like that again. Brady's greatness has always been based on what he thinks he needs to prove to other people whether he really needs to or not. He builds it up in his mind.

Referred to his competiveness more than what has already established him as the GOAT. He may want that opportunity to prove he's capable of leading another team to the SB.......or maybe he doesn't and settles for the NE offer and finishes his career there. I would walk away from the game if I were him. I don't think the Patriots can build their current team up enough to withstand a young team like Buffalo who's going to be even better in 2020.

That more than likely means that he is coming here. I honestly don’t know what to think of this. It’s hard to say no to the GOAT however this leaves us with no long term solution at QB. Oh well, new uniforms and new QB coming up.
Nothing stopping the Bucs from drafting a QB and grooming him behind Brady.

Watson/Belichick?

LMAO
Belichick loves Watson.

"Deshaun's a very talented player," Belichick said of Watson. "Certainly one of the top players in the league at his position that we've faced. Does a great job on the deep ball, has very good touch and accuracy, is a good decision-maker, obviously very athletic kid that can do a lot."

Belichick continued, "He's a very good passer, can extend plays and make throws out of pocket, make throws in the pocket, and if he has to run the ball to convert a third down, he certainly is capable of doing that, and he's a hard guy to tackle. I've been very impressed with his downfield passing ability and decision making and accuracy on third down."

"He's made some great throws on double-moves, seam routes, post patterns, go routes, things like that," Belichick continued, "And of course, we all know he's a very athletic guy with the ball in his hands. So, [he is] dangerous, can score from anywhere at any time, doesn't take long. It'll be a big challenge for us for 60 minutes, but even with a few seconds to go, it's a long way from – any game's a long way from being over if he has his hands on the ball."

You finally have a fellow Bucs fan to cheer with in here @Hookem Horns

You may like the fact that it is me. I was actually the only one running around claiming the Bucs were a very good low key choice of mine for Brady that I had on my radar. Not one person agreed.

But here I am. Excited for the Tampa Bay Bucs next year. :toast2:

I like greatness and will certainly keep up with Brady and root for the Bucs. I think all of the Brady's washed up crowd will be eating crow by the end of the yr.

The Texans will always be my #1 team.

I'll always root for Houston teams. Its in my DNA. I don't like it, but I can't do anything about it.

But I'll always have a team or two that I like in different sports for whatever reasons. I'll still root for the Pats of course, but I can't stop rooting for Brady at this point. It will be fun to see him transition over there even at this old age. Bucs have a lot of nice weapons and Arians did real well with Palmer late in his career. I have liked this fit for a while now. Lets see what they can do in FA and in the draft.

Bruce Arians tends to get his QBs hit a LOT. And the TB o-line is soft right now.

That said, I believe Arians is a great coach and will address his protection issues. It helps to have a QB with a quick release like Brady.

And I figure Brady liked what Arians is about, his attention to details, and his work with previous QBs. I wish both Brady and the Bucs lots of luck next season.

Yeah, that is a concern.

I'm sure they will try to address that, but we'll have to see if they can quickly. They'll need some help in the running game as well. You don't want a 43 year old dropping back 40+ times a game. Hopefully they can improve the D and the offensive line and the rest should come together hopefully.

Like Favre watch, & Manning watch, i don't think the football universe will have a choice but to keep up with Brady next season. Looking at the weapons he'l have..seeing that defense, they are going to be scary next year.

I'm actually more rooting for Arians than Brady though. I'd like to see him get a ring...Dude was passed over for HC gigs for a while before he got his 1st one.

I was really hoping Tom would end up in Dallas just for kicks. It would have been hilarious. Tampa is a boring place for him to be, but whatever. It will make his ride off into the sunset less memorable.

I can't wait to see Brady in the throwback creamsicle jersey.

Do the Bucs have a designated deflater, yet?
