What will it take for you NOT to call for BOB's head?

BUENO!
& if frogs had wings their butts wouldn't be sore.
I know if's and but's. Still true. You take Watson out and put in the scrub of the week and you get 9-7 at best and eventually what? 4-12? How did Savage do? You put Hyde in Tennessee's backfield and they're going nowhere even with Tannehill at QB.

Watching Vrabel now that the upset is over. The guy's a leader. Butt-Chin ain't leading but two things, "Jack" and "****" and Jack left town (probably to join Vrabel's staff). Watson leads the team on offense, RAC and JJ lead the team on defense.

You may say I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one
If Vrabel takes the Titans further than Bill takes the Texans, it’ll be interesting around here. BoB and Vrabel are connected and Vrabel taking the Titans to the AFCG, maybe even the Super Bowl in only his second season as a NFL head coach, BoB’s name will be mud.
There is a big difference between Vrabel and OBrien in terms of how they’d view themselves as co-ordinators though.

O’Brien as the OC who has helped guide Tom Brady and the Patriots (to his mind) vs Vrabel, an excellent positional coach, the defence regressed the one year he was DC, and then he got his chance to become HC.

Vrabel probably a lot more comfortable sticking to the big picture stuff and maybe stepping in to support with some of the positional nitty gritty.

I doubt it too. He will either kiss his ass or fire him.
We had the game well in hand yesterday. 24 to freeking nothing after the first quarter. BOB then tries the fake punt on his own 30. After that it was over, KC was rolling. Now back to the quote above. We will find out if it will be Kiss or Fire. There are three more years on his contract I believe. Call won't eat that. Cal will Kiss.

Practice Squad
meeting In Cal's office this morning-

Cal: "Bob, what in the f*** happened yesterday. You were up by 24 pts, and then you decided to stick your head up your a$$"
Bob: " Sorry, Cal, it's on me. I just have done better"
Cal: "..and what about the use of your timeouts?"
Bob: (looking confused) "Sorry, that's not my job"
Cal (but instead of Cal, it's Donald Trump) " You are correct, "YOU'RE FIRED"!

gawdoggit, why did I have to wake up from such an amazing dream!!

Bum Phillips' Oilers went toe to toe with the Pittsburgh Steelers for three consecutive years. Was firing Bum the right decision? Would you have fired him?

Bill Belichick is debatably the best coach in history. Yet he went 36-45 his first 5 years. ( This compares with Bill O'Brien's record of 42-38 ) Would you have fired Bill Belichick?

In 2000 Belichick began coaching New England. This was also Tom Brady's rookie season. The next three seasons NE went 5-11, 11-5 & 9-7. ( this compares to Deshaun Waton's / Bill O'Brien's record of 4-12, 11-5 & 10-6 ).

Would you have fired Belichick after the 2002 season?
Here's a little pushback, as the dc, his gameplan vs Buffalo is in the hall of fame. In Cleveland, they were on there way, but the impending team move disrupted them

The offensive game plan had 0 adjustments. Mathieu was robbing all the shallow routes and not 1 time did the te go up the seam. Sorenstam always get abused, yet he played like Carnell Lake

Thread TL;DR. What will it take for me not to call for BO'B's head? If his ASS is already gone. That's it. At this point, there is nothing short of him being gone that will make me happy. I am finished with the Bill O'Brien experiment. He had three years to put an OL in place for whatever QB he eventually settled on. He kept throwing garbage out there. When he finally settled on a good QB, the OL was total garbage. So he traded away any shot at improving other deficiencies to try and cover up that one major deficiency that he's responsible for.

He can't manage a clock. Honest to God, the man has zero fkn clue about time management during a game. And I do separate the time management brain cramps from the concept that things happen really fast out there and it's hard to make decisions under duress of the clock. I get that. He's bad at that aspect as well. That 4th down go for it/neverming kick a FG moment? That was a decision that had to be made under duress of clock. I separate that from the worst example of burning two timeouts on a failed challenge. He's not good at either.

The fact that we continue to have this debate about Watson getting the ball out on time when the All-22 shows no one open much of the time baffles me. We used to have a coach that could scheme anyone open. Hell, I'd bet Kubiak could scheme my old ass open for a second or two. O'Brien can't scheme open what is, IMO, a top-5 WR corps. When Watson hits the back foot of his drop, there needs to be somewhere to go with the ball. And oh yeah, preferably no one in Watson's face for another second.

His "I need to be better" mantra after every loss has all the sincerity of his apology for using profanity in the tunnel at Denver. He continues to tell us he needs to be better, and he continues to tell us it's on him. Whatever other issues I may have with O'Brien the coach, I don't believe O'Brien the man is a liar. So I say we take the man at his word.

He's not a terrible coach. He does some things well. His influence on the roster has been positive once you ignore the OL and TEs and go down to about #40 and beyond on the roster. The guys clearly play hard for him. He's a leader of men. But his W-L record is pretty indicative of the type of coach he is. He only got better than slightly below average once Watson came along, so now his record says he is slightly above average. Either way, he's not the guy.

Time to move on.

There is nothing that would prevent me from wanting him gone. We can't progress in the playoffs with him. He has proven he chokes like a dog on a bone under pressure in games. He is probably the worst coach at handling pressure in the league. He has to go. It is horrible that the money for my season tickets goes towards paying that dictator's salary. He is making me consider giving them up if he continues as coach/gm/oc/etc/etc/etc.

He spent what it took to get the talent to protect DW4 but kept the crappy OL coach that's at the heart of the problem. A classic one step forward 2 steps back.

As far as the rest of the post, TLTR

Burn it all down. Choking is now baked into this team's DNA. They are now chokers until they prove otherwise, and I have absolutely no confidence that this will happen with O'Brien.

We are about to see one of the more promising QB talents this city has seen get turned inside out and basically David Carr'ed (<--that's now a verb).

I despise this owner and head coach. THEY ARE FRAUDS.

O'Brien will NEVER be more than a poor man's Marty Schottenheimer. A head coach that can post winning regular seasons but chokes under pressure and is unable to win much of anything in the post season.

Just good enough for an owner to justify keeping him (in the owner's mind), but never capable of the high level strategic thinking. He does just enough to keep his job and justify the annual price increases in tickets and merchandise, but ultimately it is a big waste of time, because he's just not a man that inspires greatness in others.
