Wildcard Round - Bills at Texans

So this was nuts.

I’m a Clemson fan thats only been a Texans fan for a few years as I’ve never had a nfl team and y’all kept drafting so many Clemson folk it made sense especially guys like Hopkins and Watson.

between past two weekends I definitely lost a few years off my life. Who wants to live to their 90s anyways.

If you ever meet Watson you’ll know why his teammates love him. I have anxiety problems and all the people I was supposed to go to with a signing and photo session thing flakes so I was basically having a panic attack by the time I got to get my picture with him.(not sure why but standing in line bugs me, put me in a stadium and I’m fine but somebody right behind me in a line ufgfffjhh)

long story short he talked me out of panic attack and Igot a really good photo with him.

I got a slightly longer interaction than most fans due to them changing out memory card and he’s a legit amazing dude as he seems to be

I’m a Clemson fan so first so kept thanking him for bringing us a championship like 20 times lol.

why some posters on board dislike him or would prefer he left over O’Brien is beyond me.

I have met him for like 6 minutes of my life and I’d run through a wall for him

My friends were laughing when I told them after he was drafted that he was already the best QB this team has ever had. No offense to Schaub, I just believe that much in Deshaun.

He shows it every single week. The fact he took SEVEN sacks and still kept coming is incredible. No one would have blamed him for going down when he got rocked by two guys. Instead he somehow regains his balance and makes an impossible play that 99% of the other QBs go for a negative play. He is special and a winner.

As an ACC guy, there used to be a saying when Clemson would choke and they'd say "oh it was Clemson pulling a Clemson". They don't say that now and Deshaun was a large reason why no one in the ACC dares mock Clemson anymore. He shredded the paper tiger mantra and now they're the mothereffin Tigers.

Deshaun is a franchise saver, I feel even more confident saying that after today. I want him to have a life time contract and pay him whatever he wants. He wins everywhere he goes.

Ha!

You'd think all fans would be roughly the same in fairly large groups, but I find that rarely to be the case. The Jets fan forum is horrendous, 90% of the words typed are swear words. Browns fans were thrilled that Garrett assaulted a man. Pats fans are literally the most jaded and miserable fans I've come across, and are actually starting to realize how their unprecedented run of success has robbed them of the enjoyment that the rest of the fan bases get from all games before the AFCCG. Broncos fans were convinced they were going to mop us, the sole difference between the teams being strength of schedule, and instead their Allen threw for 85 yards and went three and out about 15 times, scoring 3 points. The Bills forum is great, but you have to sift through a high volume of junk, especially in weeks after losses. This one is cozy and, from what I've seen, incredibly level and measured.
We tend to shout down the kool aid drinkers and eternal pessimists. We also require that you bring proof of a particular point than just allowing opinion to be thrown around as fact. Mostly. We do have 1 or 2 posters on either side of that argument. Mostly, you can have your own opinion, but not your own facts on this MB.

Dude give me a break. It's not all roses and unicorns and rainbows with this team 24-7. I've been a fan since the team was announced. Have spent thousands on gear and merchandise. We all have a right to voice our opinion. I give credit when and where it is due to this team, it's not my fault that those times are rare. Our coach sucks. We win in spite of him, not because of him. We all have a right to say what we want about this team when we want. The only time I see you post around here is when good things are happening and then you want to call everyone else out because we don't sing the praise of this team and holler and scream that everything is rainbows and sprinkles. We are all grown ups, as well as the men out there making millions on the field. We all have a right to express how we feel about this team, good, bad, positive, negative, or otherwise. Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it wrong.

No, sir. If you have noticed any of posts most of them are scathing toward the organization. I recently agreed with BoB wanting to focus on the playoffs, instead of answer stupid media questions, but that was a rare occasion. However, on the topic, given how the game went today, his focus wasn't very good, was it?

But where I took umbrage was not with any of your opinions, nor anyone else's opinions. My issue is with an immutable fact that one cannot call a game over until it's actually 0:00. Saying "game over" at halftime is not an opinion, unless we want to get crazy with it and say something like, "In my opinion I'm Napoleon Bonaparte." Well, I suppose that's a valid opinion, but it smacks against reality in the hardest way possible.

yeah there are people that preferred tom savage start over Watson and still seem to have that opinion and are salty about it. some also bitched because Watson hadn’t won a playoff game yet

can’t travel back in time for to make tom savage better in his starts which would be hilarious but random fan you got your playoff win
I had that opinion about Savage. I was wrong. Watson, at his worst is better than Savage at his best. Savage panics when things are going to hell. Watson excels.

Folks forget his freshmen year in final game of year he played with a torn acl due to how competitive he is.

know doc says that plus other Tear makes him more prone but I appreciate that fight

Without calling folks out there were a good amount of y’all and it was nuts as a semi outsider at that point .

think I adopted y’all when y’all drafted hopkins so I’ve seen a tonnof bad takes but the tom savage stuff was extremely bad

not sure if he had some connection or homegrowndeal

As far as I know - there is only one person that would take OB over Watson. We thought he was on drugs at the time, but he keeps saying the same thing over and over again. No one can be that high all the time.

It gets blown out of proportion the number of people who would actually take OB over anything. Shoot, most would take a kick in then nuts to get rid of OB.

there are maybe like four to five but they post more than everybody else so I get why they get a pass

I would volunteer as tribute if it meant Deshaun got a real offensive coach that played to his strengths 100% of the time. Nothing frustrates me more than not playing to your QB's strengths and forcing a system on them.

I said I'd take Jason Garrett over buttchin during the first half. I will gladly take two kicks in the jewels to send BOB packing. IMO, for someone that is supposed to be a "QB guru", he's hindering Watson's ability with his horrid offense and play calling. With just a "good" offensive line and some creative play calling, Watson would easily be a top tier QB. And that isn't to say that he's not, but BOB is limiting him.

would be worried garrett would handcuff him same way ob does.

personal preference would be for a more offensive minded coach

Hope they make the most of his few plays before he hurts himself again. I don't think he will play a full game the rest of this season or any other for that matter.

Great win. I'll take it. It's truly mystifying that BOB hasn't figured out how to get Watson going yet. He's been correctly compared to Steve Young because of their skill sets so it was telling to me what Steve Young had to say about Watson and the play calling at half time:

"get him physically involved. He sits in the pocket and get sacked, and it affects your emotions as well, it's really hurtful to the team not getting Deshaun physically involved"

We didn't call a qb run play until a little more than 1:30 left in the 3rd quarter. That is when the game turned around. Deshaun finally got his mojo going and the Bills weren't able to keep teeing off on him after that. The defense then feeds off of the momentum when the offense has something going on. I can't understand why BOB doesn't get this for the life of me.
What is so mystifying about BOB not being able to figure something out? What is truly mystifying is that BOB is still here?
What is truly mystifying is BOB hasn't figured out he is an idiot and got help.
Even Forrest Gump knew that.

If you read any of my posts I firmly believe he should be fired. If he wins a SB, that would change my mind but he wouldn’t get an infinite leash. So how about instead of attacking the poster you attack the reply to your question?

Ok, then I’ll attack the reply to my question.

I refute that the team never comes out prepared. If that were the case, they would NEVER win. I refute your implication about the game management. His game management is not any better, or any worse than anyone else in the league. The very same goes for the play calling. It isn’t any better, or any worse than anyone else. The bottom line is that’s always the coach‘s fault and the players get a pass. You want the coach gone for no other reason than he didn’t win it all, and you want that mental reset for the offseason. You‘re just tired of looking at him, and you want somebody new, even though you have no idea if that somebody new will be any better.

Happy?

Etch that in bronze and put it in SteelB‘s signature. I can’t understand his problem with him.

ESPN's so called football experts says rules on this controversy should have led to a TD for the Bills that was taken away. They say they interpret the rules better than a top ex official and the presiding officials at the game. F-ing tools.

They only say that because they were all talking up and picking the Bills all week

Those Vegas boys are pretty good at that stuff
You see why I want to sit out?
In the past, I often watched the game with my BILs, and they almost always want to go Texans Over. (They like the Over so they can cheer, and they also like the parlay bet).
On games like this, when we think the Under is more likely, we can go either way, after a lot of back and forth, LOL.
Usually, if they still decide to call Texans Over, I'd just go with the Texans to cover the spread only and let them sweating out the Parlay, LOL.

Well, this is it. This is what we have been waiting for. This is the moment that all those games of OB's mismanagement of challenges, weak game plans, and refusal to stick with what works all finally PAY OFF! This is the moment when OB opens up the playbook and we see the wrinkles that he has kept hidden his entire tenure in Houston. Now is the time our offense clicks and stuns the NFL world. This is where the champion in Watson is unleashed. Now is the moment Hopkins' circus catches ignite our fire. This is where the determination in Watt prevails. This is where the former #1 castoffs from other teams meld together into an impenetrable defensive curtain to prove their worth. It is time for Romeo's bend but don't break philosophy to bend no longer. The blood, sweat and tears of this franchise all lead to this moment. The demons of Houston football will get excised. The era of Love ya Steel Blue will be birthed.

I guess I was wrong on many points, but we won. That's the important part right?

RIGHT?

We can look at his playoff record and that’s all the ammo anyone needs.

Team comes out flat every game but that’s all on the players right?

Offense is in mud without WFV but that’s all on him not the genius who calls and designs plays right?

Refute without evidence and go back off on attackiny the poster. Great tactic. Real mature Marcus. Expected better from you considering how long you’ve been here.

Evidence? The only “evidence“ is your subjective opinion.

What a game!! A great win. Once again Watson overcomes O'Brien's stupidity.

I was yelling & cussing so loud when we went for it on 4th down instead of kicking the FG that my neighbor called to see if I was all right.

That one thing is what could have cost us the game. That is why we need a new coach. Crap like that is what should get BOB fired, not the 42-10 loses.
