Week 10...Much Needed...Bye Week!

On Neither Thursday, Sunday nor Monday will the Texans meet anyone anywhere. The game will not be aired on TV nor radio due to no game being played.

The Texans are all kinds of banged up. They really needed this Bye week. It couldn't have come at a better time.

There is no reason to list the teams since we don't know who will be back and healthy in the starting lineup for the Texans, and there isn't an opposing team.

This week, the Texans have a chance to lick their wounds and get some key players back before returning to practice next week for a very tough Baltimore team.
Hopefully, Tunsil, Fuller, Roby and a few others can get back to not only being healthy, but also ready to take this team to the next level and not only be able to keep up with, but beat an NFL elite team like the Ravens.
We have a week before practice starts and the Texans get back to work. It's time to get into the final run for the playoffs.

GO TEXANS!!!

Hello gents, Ravens fan here. Been a member a long time. I thought this was apart of the Texans official site, but I've been wrong before.

Anywhoooo, I'm glad to see a lot of you again and to see the Texans fairing well. I hope you guys get to full strength so we can see who is the better team at full strength. I am anticipating a dog fight which are my favorite.

And I can't wait to watch you guys stomp a mudhole in NE.

Even with our injuries I'm hopeful that Texans can come away win a big one this week. BoB should be able to game plan so that Watson can even rest up and even if he goes back to crap play calling I just don't see the Bye pulling it off. JJ is still out of course so that some valuable experience missing but we should be ok. I'm going out on a limb.

You think you can ask your coach if his brother would be willing to coach here? Just asking for a friend.

Excellent game last night, though. I wasn't expecting the Ravens to be as good as they are with Lamar Jackson, but he's getting it done.

Ha, I'll try to pencil that in for ya.

Thank you. Honestly I think NE is about to skid. Their defense is not really all it was cracked up to be. It's easy to look like the 85 Bears or 2000 Ravens when you play Luke Falk, Sam Darnold, FitzTragic, Daniel Jones, Dwayne Haskins, and other crap dudes. Winning the game is fairly simple. Get LB's not named Jamie Collins in space and make them cover. Run slants and crosses to shake the man coverage, and have your QB buy time. If Lamar can do it so can Watson seeing as he has maybe the best receiver in the game to throw the 50/50 balls. Your TE's and RB's will feast.

On defense just attack. They are not that talented. Play man, and blitz. Honestly had we not fumbled twice on an average of our own 35. They get spanked 37-10. They are massively overrated and I think you guys bend them over too.

When NE runs into Watson, Mahomes, Wentz, and even Prescott they will get exposed.

This should be a really good match-up. I give the Ravens an edge at home, but I think the Texans will be in the game until late. This isn't going to be a runaway.
This thread isn't about the Baltimore game brother. Can't really write that one until after they play this weekend against the Bengals. We don't know how they will come out of that game yet. Hopefully injury free and likely beating the Bengals badly but we shall see. Once it's over, then I'll write the game thread for the Texans matchup with them. Until then, on with the Bye week.

Well in that case, I'll go bye week 32, Texans 28. They have a history of losing to bye week, and bye week has a better coach. I'm pretty sure that somehow BOB will call an ill-advised TO right in the middle of bye week.

I watched some of that Baltimore game, and the Texans and Ravens game should be really good. Or bad, depending on your outlook afterwards.

@CloakNNNdagger what is the outlook for our injured players and their return? Is it realistic to see some of these guys after the bye and back at full strength?
It's a pretty general question that covers too many players. Don't have the time to pick each one apart now. If you've followed my Injury Report thread, you will find the direction I believe players are likely to take. Overall, I believe most, if not all, of our players should make it back after the BYE..............with the understanding that the players with soft tissue injuries, even if they come back relatively healthy are still significant risk for re-injury and/or compensatory injury for the rest of the year. As we get past the BYE, I will try to update my thoughts.

Before I opened this thread I figured there would be one good bye week joke. I severely underestimated that figure.

My only prediction for the bye is that I won’t be watching any NFL games over the weekend. It’s hard enough watching the NFL officiating during the Texans games and I only do that out of my loyalty of the Texans.

The prediction here is that the Texans will not win or lose this week. Could we call it a tie?

Bye weeks are great for the players as we always seem to need the recovery time, so I love them for that....

But as a fan... I also dont like them cause its like a preseason game for the offseason...a week without Texans footbal... :forrest:

One week to see how the drama plays out....

For this week only... I am all about them Dolphins......

Normally I struggle through the bye week knowing it's necessary but I want Texans football. However this year is different As I just have so much more and almost a different kind of hope. There's something about this team for me perhaps it is young possibly dynamic QB and left tackle. I think that's a first although I remember once thinking Tony Bocelli and David Carr could be dynamic although only one was young. Then possible pairing of Lonnie Johnson and Conley on back end. Perhaps 4 most important positions are locked in by young guys and one of greatest WRs taking care of another.

For me, this week is about the hope and anticipation

One thing I worry about is this with a lot of players getting back from injury, this team has found a way to play well without them in the mix, does it take some time to readjust again once we get them back?

Adding talent is never something to worry about.

Example: Did you like how Conley adjusted?

Yep, hopeful with the Conley trade, Game 1 was an impossible situation for him. After a week he looked a good player. Hopefully the bye has him playing up to potential here which he didn’t realise in Oakland.
How do Roby and Johnson Jnr. fit in when they get back?

Roby will play the nickle, JoJo/Conley will play outside. L.Jo will be the 1st CB off of the bench. I hope they use L.Jo alot as an extra DB this week so that Reid can spy Jackson.

It sure is good to have depth. Something Texans fans aren't used to experiencing.
