Can the current texans defense stop T.Y. Hilton

Over all the texans probably have the better team, but can they win if hilton goes crazy

Can we win as TY breaks new records? Probably. Can we stop T.Y.? Would be a first, and RAC hasn't shown a want to sit on any receiver, and our top 2 cb's are injured ... so no. TY is at the mercy of his quarterback and Reid over the top, and he's yet to care about our deep safety.

The big difference is that it seems we are, successfully so far, switching to being an offense focused team and out scoring the other team. In the past the defense had to lock down the other team or we were screwed, now we just need them to slow the other team down and make a couple of good stops. Colts are facing a different style team than last year, will the results be different? We'll see.

I wish the secondary was healthy.

TY still isn't 100% from his quad injury. (CnD will you give us an update) So I expect Hilton to go for 10-150 and the Texans win 28-24.

TY is being used more short area this year and catching more balls/taking more punishment. He’s already missed 1 game this season because he’s not built to be a 100 catch WR like Hopkins. He can still score from anywhere on the field if Texans are undisciplined but the likelihood of the big play is lessened with his current route tree.

That being said... Texans are extremely thin at CB especially if Roby can’t play next week. Our young CBs will need to grow up fast for this matchup.

But our backfield didn't look terrible vs KC even without Joseph and Roby.

T.Y. will get his. But I don't think he will see the success that he has in past years.

Will be interesting to see if they can pull it off. Their defense is built to stop DW4. Hopefully not a big drop off from Howard to Roderick Johnson and our OL can continue improving/not allow a repeat of last season’s playoff game.

The Texans need to focus on Brissett, Mack and Ebron. Stop Mack and the run game, bottle up Brissett and don't let him hurt you with his legs and contain Ebron. That will go a long way towards controlling Hilton. Hilton will get his. He won't be stopped. The challenge will be in sealing the edges against the run by either Mack or Brissett and collapsing the pocket to keep Brissett contained. Basically, Watt, Mercilus, Reader and the others in the front 7 need to stop the run on the way to harassing Brissett. That in it's self will limit the damage Hilton does to the defense. You aint gonna stop Hilton. So don't try. Stop everyone else around him and you limit the damage he does. Then, just out score them with the run game and all of the weapons in the passing game that Watson has at his disposal. That's how you do it.

True, but what they would really take would likely be different. Obviously we can't afford a first and probably not a second any time soon, so to get in the game would likely take a group of lower picks and probably a front line level player. What and who would determine viability.
