Vikings' Mike Zimmer: Daniel Jones looks like a 'big-time NFL quarterback'

The New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings don’t meet often but the two clubs have a lot in common and many crossover players and coaches.

In his conference call with the New York media on Wednesday, Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer spoke on many of the common themes between the two clubs as they prepare to meet this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

I hope he succeeds and the G-men quickly move on from the mediocre Manning era. I tend to always root for three of the teams in the NFC east. . .

(Side note: I can't believe they are going to put Manning in the HoF because of his name. He's never been a top 10 QB for even a year, and if it's the two SB rings, then why is Jim Plunkett not in the HoF? [/rant])

He's the Lynn Swann of the QB position.

Fun fact - the only stat Eli Manning has ever led the league in is INTs. He did that three times (2007, 2010, and 2013). That said, I can't hate the guy too much. He hasn't tormented me as a fan like his brother did, he's generally a nice guy, and he smacked around the team I love to hate in the Super Bowl twice.

I don't, because I hate the NY media and all of their teams. Their fans can kick rocks too.

I agree on the Eli thing. Another reason why I hate the NY sports media. Those guys are the ones that constantly say this load of crap. Eli has no business being in the HOF.

Yep. I don't hate the guy at all. And like you, I think he seems like a really nice guy. It's the overwhelming hype from the media that rubs me wrong. They've already got him as a first ballot HoF.

Yeah, I get that. I guess for me what is more annoying than the NY-obsessed media is Cowboys fans when the team even appears to be remotely successful.

Cowboys fans annoy me as well of course, but NY media is the worse for me. They constantly lie on television almost worse than the political media.
