Hey, alt least we now have a QB that actually looks downfield for a change.
And a coach trying to beat that out of him

Doubtful, rookies struggle.
Not close to the same in terms of cost. Little chance we can get Tunsil more help on the OL so it will still suck
Did the Colts rookies suck last yr on their OL?
.@TonyPauline
: The #Texans had Tytus Howard graded better than Andre Dillard. Furthermore, if both were there, they might've taken Howard anyways. This was also confirmed to me by a league source.

LOLLLLL ... "just draft Andre Dillard and problems solved right!?!? In what galaxy was D3 Tytus Howard rated higher than Dillard? SMH.
Well they started two rookies, one of whom was the #6 pick and one a second rounder.
What they did is rare and they were not planning to start the second rounder.
If that's the plan... Good luck because it doesn't happen very often
What's funny about that tweet is it says they "might" have drafted Howard if Dillard fell to 23.
Why is it a question is the Texans had him higher?
They were planning on starting the 2nd rder at OG but moved him out to RT when Goode got hurt.
Obviously you dont know what your talking about.
Probably would have been better drafting Josh Jacobs. At least OB knows how to run the RB up the middle. No developing required.

Obviously starting rookies is a proven way to have a good OL because the colts did it once
Other teams have done this too.
Ever heard of Zack Martin/Tyrann Smith
So the other example is 5 years ago? Yes sometimes it happens. But statistically it's rare.
Also those guys were legit first rounders unlike Howard and Scharping
There are other examples I just thought I would try to pick out an example of a team that you might know with your limited knowledge.
im really trying hard not to believe that report. reading through the comments the veracity of that statement and who it comes with should be taken with a grain of salt.
with that said does it sound like something this regime would be capable of doing? Absolutely.
Well I dunno where those two played their collegiate ball because chances are they saw much better competition before coming into the NFL than our rookies did ?Other teams have done this too.

The Texans may have a player evaluation problem.

NFL Draft Insiders podcast with Pauline and @AndyHermanNFL drops in the morning.
I'm actually giving O'Brien credit for recognizing he wasn't the best guy to develop Watson. When I look back every QB O'Brien coached was a pocket statue ...Hoyer, Mallet, Savage, Brady, Oz... not one of them had close to the mobility Watson has. At least BO'B recognized his limitations and went out and got the right man for that job.Whether the transformation happens or not, BOB has given Watson the best tutor he could possibly get. Now it's on Watson to improve.
I'm more concerned with the "might've" part.
If they had Howard graded higher there shouldn't be any "might've"
with that said does it sound like something this regime would be capable of doing? Absolutely
Agreed. These yahoos picked Hopkins over Patterson & Kjax over Wilson.
They do it all the time.
Smartest guys in the room.
wasn't that rick and kubiak?
Munchak and Mathews?I don't have confidence in any rookie
Munchak and Mathews?
Looks like Tunsil/Howard/Matin/Fulton/Henderson
Not what I would do, but I can understand wanting to put the veterans in in the 1st game in the Superdome.
Munchak and Mathews?
Fulton is dealing with turf toe. He might not go.
True
Who would you start at LG?
Yes there are exceptions, but you have to go back decades
K, don't forget the right side of Atlanta .... just because we failed to do it .... doesn't mean it can't be done !
You mean RG? What options do they have? Kelemete or Scharping. Whoever it would have been once they got around to moving Fulton to C.True

That's what I meant.
Typing on my phone isn't my strong suit.
Tweet from @AaronWilson_NFL: Bill O'Brien said team has pretty good idea of who the starting five offensive linemen will be.
"Pretty good idea"?
Really?

Fulton has turf toe and while that sounds minor, can have serious implication to effectiveness of play. Howard has a broken finger. Depending on how this is taped up I could see it effecting his ability to grab. Martin has returned from his injury but is he in playing shape?"Pretty good idea"?

Injuries always have the potential to play havoc with a starting line up.
It was a pre-season game. If you were a coach would you not want to see you OC, from the previous year, under game.conditions with the starters.Martin didn't look ready in preseason. Got pushed back easily

Correct, but this doesn't mean he's 100%. Effects from a serious case of tuff toe can linger all season but I don't know how serious his injury was. Certainly need CnnD.Fulton is back at full participation today.
OB recently said they know who’s going to start Monday. Implied it’s the guys they have been playing the most. That would seem to rule out Martin but yeah, the toe.Correct, but this doesn't mean he's 100%. If Dillard was the guy many on this board feel he is, why was he there in the 20s? Normally, no questions asked left tackles are taken top half of 1st rd, correct?https://twitter.com/PFN365/status/1169455912395902977?s=20

I don't think I would have been pissed. I was calling for a trade up for several picks up. But at the time, it looked like Gaine was a genius. When he was 1 pick away with a team that didn't need ol I thought we damn sure better NOT trade up for him.
Nobody could have predicted the Eagles trading for the pick right before us. And, of all things, for a Left Tackle!I don't think I would have been pissed. I was calling for a trade up for several picks up. But at the time, it looked like Gaine was a genius.
Not a genius, as it turned out.
