If we had the line to block for him, yes.Duke Johnson in that bubble screen would be a monster bro....
by virtue of it being a play where the line isn't involved much, I stand by my statement. 1 thing to run those bubble screens with WR's who more often than not aren't trying to get hit, Johnson is a rb who is used to running through contact.....especially through the arm tackles of a cb...If we had the line to block for him, yes.
But it might work one day!Teaching that damn bubble screen.....AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Hope so. Normally our screens only work maybe 5% .Duke Johnson in that bubble screen would be a monster bro....
Actually being injured is very Gronkish. How Texans is it that the second coming of Rob Gronkowski doesn't even make it through training camp.
God I hope you are wrongO’Brien, who said "it was a miracle in and of itself" that Warring was able to get on the field after a practice.
And the idiot wonders why players have setbacks.
"The Texans like Howard’s versatility, and the rookie should be an upgrade over last year’s starter, Senio Kelemete. "
I like Tytus but that's not very likely.
Used sparingly, sure. If we had a plethora of plays with Duke Johnson split wide, sure. The way BO'b uses it (Lamar Miller up the middle twice for 2 yards, bubble scree on 3rd & 8 like clockwork) not so much.Duke Johnson in that bubble screen would be a monster bro....
Every playcaller has “surrender” plays on 3rd & longs. Low risk of something bad happening with a potentially high reward. Kubiak’s was the HB draw & I remember folks on this MB complaining about his back then too. The bubble screen is BoB’s.Used sparingly, sure. I realize this is the 2019 Training Camp thread, but please stay on topic that OB is a horrible coach.Every playcaller has “surrender” plays on 3rd & longs. The issue is that 3rd & 8 may be considered "long", but it's not the same as 3rd & 14. Sure, try your ignorant little bubble-screen at that point and hope for the best. If that's the best you have on 3rd&8, then there's a problem.Every playcaller has “surrender” plays on 3rd & longs. Low risk of something bad happening with a potentially high reward. Lol 3rd & long is 3rd & long...aside from that though, The way T-skyss characterized the way in which BoB used the bubble screen isn't accurate anyway. From my memory alone I can recall many times it was used on 1st or 2nd down with pretty good effect. Demaryius Thomas in the Denver game 1st play he damn near broke it open with a 20+ yard rip.The issue is that 3rd & 8 may be considered "long", but it's not the same as 3rd & 14. It's really not the play that bothers me. It's the predictability in which he uses it. That's the point I was trying to get with my rhetoric.Every playcaller has “surrender” plays on 3rd & longs. Low risk of something bad happening with a potentially high reward. Kubiak’s was the HB draw & I remember folks on this MB complaining about his back then too. The bubble screen is BoB’s.
I remember it working a few times. But I'm not the only one fed up with seeing it. It's the type of play you should see once in a while. Twice in one game is too many, showing a lack of creativity.Lol 3rd & long is 3rd & long...aside from that though, The way T-skyss characterized the way in which BoB used the bubble screen isn't accurate anyway. Seems this wayDoesn't O'Brien run it the most in second and long?

Agree to disagree. If it worked more often than not, I think I would love the play. Like Lamar Miller up the middle.Ehh, i disagree. It has works more often than not & is usually good for 3-5 yds a pop
Last year Reader was playing at DE and Dunn at NT in the 34.When did DJ Reader become a defensive end? Did he lose some weight? Oh wait a minute, thats Pancakes McClains picks so naturally half of them will be wrong.
"We"? Speak for yourself. I've been calm all day.We released Anger
Is that the punter? if so, was he better than the other guy?We released Anger
Ye, we kept Trevor Daniels, same punter as last yearIs that the punter? if so, was he better than the other guy?
He was moved to DE last season with some plays at NT. It has been mentioned frequently that Dunn has developed into a great NT and Readers skill set + reduced fat weight increasing his agility allows him to be very effective DE. I expect Reader to get huge pay increase from someone as this is his final contract year. As you have me on ignore and brag about it, I am posting this for others who may be interested. When did DJ Reader become a defensive end? Did he lose some weight?
