Hopefully he pushes for time in zone defensive sets where he can really excel with his length and hitting ability.

Wish we saw more reports out of camp on CB play and scheme

Ur apology should be as loud as Ur disrespect was
I think it was pretty beta to sit Lonnie out for practice today for any fear of retaliation or even worse as some sort of punishment for playing physical football. Wish OBrien had his back more and didnt fall victim to Green Bay pressure about the hit(s).

The rookie made a chiken shix play and I suspect some vets on the team took the boy aside to explain the facts of life to him in the NFL.
Not a case of O'Brien not having his back because - it wasn't live contact !

I haven't seen the play, but Berman called it a clean hit. The Packers were saying it was excessive for a practice, so where are you coming up with it was a dirty or cheap sh!t play?

Swear I seen entire offense went at him, clean can still be unnecessary.

At the time on the practive field they were in non-cantact mode.
That's what the packers players said and if the Teans ween' aare of this then he was aSERIOU BREAK DOWN IN COMMUNIAION SOMEPALCE.

Huh?

Never saw anything anywhere about it being in non-contact mode

Yes, it was probably unnecessary, but that doesn't make it 'cheap' or 'chicken- sh!t'
According to the description of the play I've heard from players on the field at the time, admittedly Packers players, Johnson's hit was a sucker punch on the Packers TE.
It was not a full contact scrimmage but Johnson acted as if it was.
If I was Johnson I'd keep my head on a swivel Thursday night when it's full-metal jacket time and everybody knows it.

My understanding these practices do not call for regular game tackles or any to cause injury to a player. Over the years we have seen some fist fights develop between two teams after such hits. The Packer is undergoing concussion protocol

If I was a packer player I’d be pissed.

Knocking someone’s block of when you are in thud mode is pretty ridiculous.

It’s childish. Not a good look for Lonnie.

That’s why OB held him out of practice. Because he knew that tempers would still be high and he probably wanted to avoid a brawl.

BUT I like a little idgaf in my defensive players. Just hope he’s not a practice field hero and can bring some of that to the actual games.

I would not be surprised at all if they take multiple shots at him in the game. Not passes his way, I’m talking guys trying to baptize him.

The issue with the hits were that they happened in shells during non-tackling sessions.

Most reports have said the hit on the TE would be fine in a game but during the session it was over the line. The Packers took more issue with him posing and flexing over the guy after the hit.

The bigger issue was him decking the guy on special teams later on and probably giving him a concussion. You don't go live on special teams especially in a shells practice.

Also that hit probably would have gotten fined in a game. To do it in a half padded, non-tackling drill....

The kid is an idiot and he's going to have a target on his back tomorrow.

Tweet from @riversmccown: All four man-coverage Lonnie Johnson targets, plus another nice play in zone. Allowed one catch, mostly against former Jets injury washout Devin Smith. https://t.co/Ft4FQB0xsn
