Day 3 Targets

We have one day left. Who are your ideal targets?

Here’s mine:

CB
J. Love
I. Johnson
J. Brown
J. Moreland

S
A. Hooker
E. Worthington
J. Johnson
L. Denis
(Don’t the G-J will still be there when our pick comes)

RB
T. Williams
R. Armstead
D. Ozigbe
B. Anderson

DL
D. Mack
J. Crominsky
M. Crosby
R. Wren

OG
D. Samia
P. Haynes
H. Froholdt

WR
K. Harmon
K. Johnson
K. Doss
T. Fulgham
S. Morgan

I'd take Love in 5th if there, Traveon Williams in 6th and Crosby in 7th but I also like RB Benny Snell. I'm hoping our UDFAs are good.

I'd watch the CB from Baylor. Longest wingspan and elite speed.

Hunter renfrow & Gary Jennings Jr at WR

RB-Trayveon Wiliams, Bryce Love, Ryquell Armstead

DE-Charles omenihuh, Jaylen Jelk

Best DB available then the other two can be WR and RB.
Subject to who might go undrafted, but there could be some handy OL types this draft.
Here is a list of Drafttek's top 100 players still on the board per ranking:-
C. Gardner Johnson S
Hakeem Butler WR
Deionte Thompson S
Mack Wilson ILB (3rd highest ILB in draft)
Amani Oruwariye CB
Kelvin Harmon WR
Joe Jackson Edge (6'4" 275)
Emanuel Hall WR
Vosean Joseph OLB
Michael Jordan OG
Riley Ridley WR
Julian Love CB (seriously?)
Amani Hooker S !
Renell Wren DT
Martez Ivey OT
Deandre Walker Edge
Charles Omenuhi DL

Be worth watching for these guys in the late rounds. Just have to check for red flags.

Cajuste is gone.

I think Mitch Hyatt could slide into the UDFA group. Texans need sign him and park him on the PS for a season while he gets stronger and learns what NFL speed is all about.

How they had Lonnie Johnson rated above Julian Love is a mystery. I still like Isaiah Johnson as a late RD5 CB.

Most of the guys listed as BPA will be gone in RD4 and for certain by pick 23 in RD5. Another mystery....not one trade back that could've netted a couple of RD4 picks b/c the group listed above has a very good chance of making a solid impact with the team that selects them.....this season.

I like Treyvon Williams or Bruce Anderson at RB but if it were my choice......it would be Anderson b/c I think he's the more complete back.

The Demarius Thomas Trade really hurt us this draft. I expect all of the players I want to go before our 5th pick except for Hunter Renfrow.

I think we should find a way to move back into 4th rd this morning and grab A&M's - Trayveon Williams. The coaches say he is a born leader and super team guy. Paient, then quick as a gnat, with natural hands ... 5'8" 208# 4.51 - 20 reps - tough. might not be able to keep him at 3rd down back !

Will be interesting to see what Texans think of safety position on day 3. They had 2 UDFAs from last season that starred on special teams in AJ Moore (4.39 40) and Mike Tyson. Like BL I don't think there is going to be any dropping to us that can be an upgrade over those 2 with a full offseason of development. With that said, here's my mock for day 3:

161. Jalen Jelks Edge Oregon

195. Travis Homer RB Miami (FL)

220. Xavier Crawford CB Central Michigan

Wish had 4th pick back there is some 2nd rd. Talent still on the board including corner and safety. Expect all of them gone by 5th.

Should the Texans buy a 4th round pick for a 2020 3rd? They should be receiving a 3rd round comp pick for the Honey Badger. The Pats and the Ravens each have (3) 4th round picks and are known for selling picks for future picks. 58 players are off the board before pick #161 and these 5 players are likely among them. Any could help in 2019.

Julian Love CB Notre Dame
Amani Hooker S Iowa
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson S Florida
Justice Hill RB Oklahoma State
Trayveon Williams RB Texas A&M

Would be a good idea. All of those players can contribute this season and unlikely to be at our pick round 5. Treat it like the supplemental draft!

5.161 Jimmy Moreland CB James Madison
6.195 Jordan Brailford EDG Oklahoma State
7.220 Cole Holcomb LB North Carolina

Its a interesting thought. If I did it, I'm doing for Isiah Johnson, Derek thomas or one of the RB. I have serious doubts that Gaine would do it. Most teams this year believe the draft ends in the 5th round this year and next year will be deeper.

CB Kris Boyd from Texas
WR Emanuel Hall Missouri
OG micheal Jordan Ohio State
RB Rodney Anderson Oklahoma
RB treveaon Williams A&M
CB Isaiah Johnson Houston
WR kelvin Harmon NCS
WR Preston Williams COLORADO st
CB Amani Oruwar penn state
DTs Buggs and Watts and Mack.
Would love any of these guys.

The patriots have absolutely crushed this draft.. They just got Stidham and I'm a huge fan of his.
Yeah...they draft QBs and turn them into additional draft picks down the road...smart as hell...wish our front office would think about that sometimes.

It all comes down to how Texans grade the guys left and how badly they want 'em.

They are forced to sacrifice picks like that because they are always picking near the end of the round so they need to take this course. Smart too.
It does however have its merits - they could unearth their next franchise QB.

Can't believe Mack Wilson ILB is still on the board. Only hit against him is his stature. Only 6'1" but is a stout 240 pounds.
Near the top of the second round.
