Bland wasn't about managemen.
The Colts with $18.35 mil more beg to differ.
BTW, The McNair's and the man behind the scenes Olson are the very definition of bland. I'm mean what decent FA would want to come play for those guys longterm?
You have no idea how Cal & Olsen are behind the scenes. For that matter no idea about other front offices or player impressions either. All we know is end results and occasionally some offer info. You're just filling in to fit your narrative again.
Good thing too. They have the Giants & Raiders at 6 wins.Bland, no risk taking describes the Texans org to T.

Those teams have made .over to strengthen their weaknesses.
The Texans do this?
The Raiders have $30.5 mil in cap space. By your standard they haven't.

Anonymous Gambler: Oddsmakers' disrespect means tantalizing Texans bet
Anonymous Gambler April 5, 2019
Oddsmakers foresee a regression from the 11 wins the Deshaun Watson/Bill O'Brien-led Texans posted in 2018.
I know, it’s early April and the draft is three weeks away, so why would we be talking about the NFL season?
Because we have a Christmas bonus for you.
SportsBetting.ag put out NFL win totals this week, and it has the Texans’ over/under at 8½ games. Come on, this isn’t even that difficult.
Why would anyone give Bill “9-7” O’Brien an over/under of 8 ½? That’s easy money.
Based on 2018 records, the Texans have the fourth-most difficult schedule in the NFL next season. So?
We’re talking about an 11-win team that barring an injury to Deshaun Watson shouldn’t take significant steps backward.
In another sign of how little respect the Texans get from oddsmakers, due in large part to their bland popularity that doesn’t generate much of a handle compared to more popular teams, they are just 40/1 to win the Super Bowl.
That puts them behind 15 teams, and at the same number as the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens, two teams that SportsBetting.ag list over/under at eight wins.
As unlikely as it is, the Texans winning the Super Bowl is much more likely than the Jaguars and Ravens winning it.
Here are the regular season over/under win totals of SportsBetting.ag
Team Over/under
Patriots 11
Saints 10½
Rams 10½
Chiefs 10½
Colts 9½
Chargers 9½
Eagles 9½
Bears 9½
Packers 9½
Falcons 9
Vikings 9
Browns 9
Steelers 8½
Texans 8½
Titans 8½
Cowboys 8½
Seahawks 8½
49ers 8
Ravens 8
Panthers 8
Jaguars 8
Broncos 7
Lions 7
Jets 7
Bills 6½
Raiders 6½
Buccaneers 6½
Giants 6
Redskins 6
Bengals 6
Cardinals 5½
Dolphins 5
Lol, ok. They lost their top 2 RBs & top 2 receivers and signed Brown + 10 1 year contracts and a UDFA WR who Philip Rivers couldn't find.
Yeah, like 2 years ago we should be emulating the Jags.
And before that the Vikings
Usually Texans players stay away from these things

but at least this should be fun when the time comes
I hope he can walk the walk. If he can, I hope TY Hilton does some jawing! The Texans have always been the bug against that particular windshield. We should have injuries got those teams last yr, particularly OL injuries. Still doesn't mean they didn't do the right things and with better health i expect a bounce back seasons from those teams.

OB hasn't figured out how to coach what his team does best, much less take away what another team does well. TY owns RAC too, for that matter. I do believe that I could scheme a defense that would shut down Hilton. I might give up 70 points to Johnny Football, but TY wouldn't beat me.Yeah, kinda funny the way coaches always say they want to take away what the other team does best.
Obrien hasn't figured out yet just how to do that.
Can't argue the fact when TY says Houston is his second home field.

Sarah Barshop@sarahbarshopI just say the Cowboys preseason schedule, and will be playing the Texans in week 3. I will probably make that trip since that should be the dress rehearsal and I will be able to recognize the players on both teams.

The Texans have announced their preseason schedule. Houston will have joint practices with the Packers before their first preseason game. Week 1 at Green Bay Packers Week 2 vs. Detroit Lions Week 3 at Dallas Cowboys Week 4 vs. LA Rams

NO!Are they going to The Greenbrier again?
The Lions have signed Tom Savage to compete with Connor Cook for backup to Stafford. This may especially be important for him in that Stafford's wife will soon be undergoing brain surgery. An MRI revealed a tumor consistent with an acoustic neuroma, a benign tumor (and/or its surgical removal) that can still result in significant damage to hearing and surrounding brain tissues and cranial nerves that control facial movement. Prayers for Stafford and his wife.
Stafford may need to take some time off depending on how the surgery goes........there can be many potential complications associated with this condition and its surgery.I'm sorry but what does Savage have to do with Stafford's wife?
Not to mention why it's Texans worthy?

What????? You lost me.So you're saying Stafford is the reason the Lions are abysmal & have been for some time?
Isn't "time off to be with my dying wife" means?
What????? You lost me.![]()

Bellamy (if not a name you recognize) was on the Texans PS all of 2018.
Cierre Wood, ex-NFL running back, charged with murder of abused 5-year-old girl
Former Notre Dame and NFL running back Cierre Wood faces a charge of first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend's 5-year-old daughter, Las Vegas police said Thursday.
...
Wood played in just five regular-season games over his NFL career. Three of those games were in 2013 for the Houston Texans and two were for the Buffalo Bills in 2015.
I posted this earlier this morning in the National Football League section http://www.texanstalk.com/posts/2932108/ since I was criticized recently for posting on Tom Savage here as an ex-Texan. I will be going back to posting these players here again from now on, as many posters do.Remember when we had high hopes for Notre Dame UDFA running back Cierre Wood?
Well... he killed a kid.

And I could've posted it in the wrong forum, but I don't see a reason for people to play hall monitor in the Random Thought thread. They may have just been redirecting Tom Savage frustration on to you.
Reminds me, maybe we need a Texans YOLO emoji.
Have never seen such a rule and it's funny how it's come up after years of such postings. But I will fall in step with what you say is expected.Rule is pretty simple. Discussion of former Texans while a Texan, e.g. will AJ make the HoF, goes in Texans Talk. Talk about former Texans having nothing to do with the Texans goes in the NFL forum.
