Football connoisseur
I have gleaned this list from the FA market as they fit what we seem to need most from the talk around these parts.
Earl Thomas S
Landon Collins S
Lamarcus Joyner S
Tevin Coleman RB
Ronald Darby CB
Daryl Williams T
Bradley Roby CB
Jared Cook TE
Trent Brown T
Bryce Callahan CB
Ja'Wuan James T
Mark Ingram RB
Donovan Smith T
Pierre Desir CB
Malcom Brown DT
Jay Ajayi RB
Justin Coleman CB
Bashaud Breeland CB
DJ Fluker OL
Adrian Peterson RB
TJ Yeldon RB
Brian Poole CB

Interesting list - there are a lot more, but these seemed like the most notable.
Several of these jump out at you immediately.
Some of the less obvious just might be good for Texans brand of Offense.
DJ Fluker is excellent in the run game - not too sure of his pass pro but is he worse than any we have now?
Mark Ingram is a hard charging bull that I think O'Brian will like.
Adrian Peterson surprised everyone with a strong showing last season and I imagine he would give his all for his home town for his swansong.
Pierre Desir might be had for a good price and he basically shut down our Nuk in the WC game.
Malcom Brown is a buffalo on the Nose and would rotate nicely with Reader.
Jared Cook is a pretty reliable catcher of the football, but I am not sure of his blocking.
Others also appeal but the ones I mentioned here haven't had much chatter on these boards.

There has been no comment on the ones I picked out so will give them a bump to suss out local feelings on them.
D.J. Fluker was on one of the league's most dominant run olines last season and OB (rightly) wants a powerful run game. If he can be had for a friendly price, he would immediately occupy a spot on our line - I am not sure about his pass pro, but would he be any worse than the ones we have now?
If Malcom Brown can be had for a reasonable price then his addition will virtually ensure we have a strong push on every snap to pressure the QB as he and Reader can rotate.
If you can get enough pressure on olines, you can hurry even the very good QB's.
There is only a tiny chance of getting Hockenson and I do not see Texans taking anything but a OT, CB or irresistible DLineman in the first so a Jared Cook would be an upgrade at TE - a position that typically takes a few years to master unless you are an ascendant talent.
I am very much in favor of bringing Adrian Peterson in on an incentive laden 1 year contract. He hinted he would be honored to play here before last season and Houston is his hometown plus he owns a business here so he would absolutely give his all for one more shot. Everybody thought he was done last season but he performed admirably. He is experienced in the NFL and would definitely be keen to show for Houston.
Pierre Desir doesn't get much of the spotlight in this league but is a very capable CB. I think he may be had for a team friendly contract.

No comment from me yet because it's still early and we don't know who is going to be tagged/released or the shape of the draft. In no hurries for the hypotheticals. Lot's of options

I like this thread, but I want to see who re-ups with their current team or gets tagged before I can comment on the FA market.

A very good list

All would be upgrades. Ajayi is coming off of an ACL so I would pass on him. Adding Trent Brown to protect Watsons blind side and also adding John Brown would make the Texans offense one of the fastest in the NFL.

I was thinking with Ajayi it could be a team friendly slash prove it contract.

With the brass hinting that Miller and Foreman are still their guys, and only working from their words, I to would sign Peterson an incentive laden 1 year deal. He'll be inexpensive but good for the group based on his NFL success and who knows, by next season the Texans could be reworking their entire backfield anyways. No sense in having any heavy contracts on the books. Foreman would still be on his rookie deal.

I could see adding a 3rd down type of back in the backend of the draft. Maybe a Karon Higdon- Michigan will still be there for the taking.

Jamie Collins was cut by the Browns. Didn't live up to his contract, but being a former Pat defender, he could be a good fit here

Honestly I would follow the Browns more if they had a logo like this on their helmets:
