Super Bowl LIII

Austin might be a better choice. It's slightly smaller in population but the median income is $73.8k v $56.7k. Lot more opportunities for corporate sales also. They would have to compete with UT.

It's corporations that make it viable... Dell stadium perhaps?

No matter which city that would be chosen I believe that there would have to be SA/Austin alliance working together and that both the Cowboys and Texans have a pretty good hold on the football fan bases that would be needed for a successful third team in Texas.

The Raiders would've made Texas a 3 football team state. I could see the Raiders taking SA to Austin by storm had they chose TX over NV. I still think LV will be a mistake in the long run....both for the team and players.

Wasn't reported that way. When teams are looking at moves they test the waters for local investors & box buyers. Was reported Oakland wasn't impressed.

SA could smoke most cities on revenue and attendance. It sounds more to me like you're wanting to make it seem that way, because you're invested in this idea that Austin could get a team so you want to paint some picture that SA isn't capable of carrying their weight. It's known history that Jerry has done a lot in the past to block SA from getting a team. For the record, I think Austin could carry a team with no problem too. I'd be happy to see either city get a team. Austin doesn't really have any other major sports teams in baseball or Bball, so I could see Austinites supporting it. They support the hell out of UT, so I agree that Austin would definitely work.

I don't doubt SA could support a team. And wanted to see them move there. My opinion isn't what counted. Oaklands was.

I don't think Oakland ever wanted to come here in the first place. It seemed like a Las Vegas or nothing thing from the jump. I'm sure they may have kicked the tires on a few cities and all, but they've been wanting to squeeze a franchise into Vegas for quite some time.

Since we are on the subject discussing Austin, I do think it's time they start pushing for a team. What is Austin? top 15 biggest cities in the US? I think they are. They need at least one pro team at this point I'd say. Strong population numbers, Strong economy, and a good track record for their other sports.

According to 2017 census Austin is the 11th largest city in the US and San Antonio is the 7th largest. There are cities in the US with a 1/3 the population of Austin with an NFL franchise.

Don't think so. San Antonio talk started back in 2014. At that time the sports betting rules were different and pretty sure the league was no way on Vegas. Then they regrouped and went after Vegas a couple years later. Doesn't really matter.

I think they're ready. SA is 2.4 mil v Austin 2.1 and Austin is significantly wealthier for people and companies.

There are a few pro teams but all 2nd or 3rd tier except rugby and women's full contact 11 on 11 football. There's plenty of land near the airport. Or as ArlingtonTexan & OptimisticTexan mentioned they could shift it somewhat down the road toward SA. Hell the Cowboys did to pull more people from Ft. Worth.
