Clemson -vs- Alabama

OptimisticTexan

2024 / Rebuilding Block 4 After Playoffs / Texans
Well, I guess Clemson stomped a proper mud-hole in the arse of Alabama. Times may be changing as to who the new King Program is in CFB.

Clemson played an amazing game. Trevor Lawrence is the real deal and his NFL won't come quick enough. 19 year old kid put on a show....and he's only going to get better and more dominant. The defense certainly lived up to their billing as well. I'd really like to see CB, Trayvon fall into the laps of the Texans. Pair him with a successful trade for Peterson while having JJo and the Texans CB woes could be a thing of the past.

Hell, if anything has gone wrong at the completion of the 2019 season.....I'd throw the 2020 season, trade assets and lineup to take QB, Trevor Lawrence with the RD1-01 pick. This guy is 19 years old and stands a solid 6-6 @ 215 lbs.....by 21, he's still 6-6....maybe 6-7 and closer to an even more solid 225 or 230 lbs. I'd be rebuilding the entire team around Lawrence.

Then we could surround him with a bunch of late round pick, and journeyman scrub O-linemen and he'd become the 3rd franchise QB we got killed because we've learned nothing from the David Carr experiment.

It's like nothing was learned from the Carr yrs.

This yr was a success because Watson is healthy going into the offseason. I didn't think that would happen behind this OL.

Lawrence looks like he's straight out of the 1983 draft class. A little Marino here, a touch of Kelly there, with a dash of Elway. I didn't think they made QBs like that anymore. Throwing a season seems like a joke. But it's not impossible. The NFL needs a NBA style lottery before the 2021 draft rolls around.

It's so funny that you mentioned this......I was thinking he looked like a 6-6 version of Jim Kelly but posses an NFL arm at the age of 19. Give Lawrence 2 more years of maturity and if he stays healthy......he'll be the biggest QB prospect to hit the draft in a long, long time. I could see teams making a concerted effort to ensure their draft position for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Colts are gonna push Andrew Luck in front of a bus during the 2020 off season so they can tank for the next great QB yet again

That happens in the NBA where the teams are small, the contracts fully guaranteed and games frequently flip who has the lead with the winner decided in the last minute. Sh!t doesn't happen in the NFL.

See: Cleveland

See: Suck for Luck.

Cleveland sucks all the time.

Indy lost a HoF QB and was in no position to pick either of the two decent QBs in an otherwise horrific QB draft. So they followed your advice and went OL in the 1st.

Guess nobody gave the team the memo when they scored a TD to beat us in week 16 with 24s left. Would have been so easy with a couple play calls, errant passes, ole'd blocks not to win that one.

So Texans win it all in 2020 as every team tanks to try and get Lawrence. Sweet!
