**Official Wild Card Round Playoff Game-Day Thread** Colts at Texans, Saturday Jan 5, 2019!!

It's only heartbreak if you had any expectation of any other result than the one we got.

Anyone who paid attention (and warned time and time and time and time again throughout the season and the last five seasons) knew this was the only possible result

Frustrating? Yes. Annoying? Of course. Heartbreak? Absolutely not.

Only heartbreak game we had this year was the Eagles. Please clean house Cal

0-3 to 11-5 is the reason OB is staying. We have to accept that reality whether we want to or not. Now we can only sit back and see what changes are made to the roster and coaching staff. And there had better be some changes.

Please, there would be 10 PI’s on Bouye by now. Also we would have to overpay for Browns sorry ass. Besides a LT doesn’t fix that horrible OL.

Get out of your damn fantasy land.. he already grew out of that before we let him walk.

"Please" give me a break.. Bouye has been arguably their best corner (playing with Ramsey).

BTW.. WTF did bum ass Colvin do this year? Maybe we should actually keep grown talent instead of letting them walk to damn divisional rivals and are left with a crypt of aging corners and no cap space to even show for it.

You can't even attempt to excuse that decision.. it was shitty as hell, but par for the course in this city.

COLVIN DIDN'T EVEN PLAY!!.. ETC, We had to throw players like crappy ass Wright out on the damn field which cost us games which was one of the major reasons why we even had to play this damn game to begin with.

That was just another incedibibly stupid decision by this franchise.

Am I the only one hoping luck is kidnapped after the game today by an angry mob of Texans fans and forced to shave before sending him back to indy?

Story of our 2018 season? Beaten by the beard.

Well, I'll save everyone the post game conference drama.....

OB- I'll take the blame for today. I have to do a better job of preparing the team.

Q- Coach, you managed to hold on to all your 1st half TO's......

OB- ........let me stop you right there, I'll take the blame for that and for today.

Actually it is trolling since he's been one of the most accurate passers in the NFL..but hey, hits have a way of catching up over the coarse of a season, hell they knocked Luck out for damn near two seasons.

It's depressing that I don't expect anything to change on that line under Lord chin shithole.
Hey CB'd, that's the funniest nickname for that dude I've heard all year LOL

Why keep bringing up old ass news. Get over that bullshit.

Brooks have said he didn't like or got along with Obrien.

Brown didn't like the freaking owner.

And wtf has Bouye done this season on that shitty as Jaguars team.

Yall kill me bringing up irrelevant stuff. Those players were on this team and what did we do. That's right not a damn thing.

And here were we go pointing fingers again on the black man. Lol smh

Talent is talent. And we let it go.

The black man? I dont give a damn what color he is. He was an inept GM and that's all I care about (I actually hate casserly far more.)

But thanks for showing your cards

You dont think brown, Brooks, and bouye are better then the talent we put on the field today?

You dont think that effects the score today?

You dont think it ties back to ricky?

Ryan Griffin took a shtload of snaps today. You can't blame Ricky for that.

BO'b can't beat a Tampa Two with the best WR in the league & the best QB under pressure.

We get stumped on offense & he goes to the bubble screen every time.

It took him 3.75 qtrs of football to figure out how to settle his QB down... can't blame any of that on Ricky.

Frank "rookie HC" Riech had an offensive plan that correctly identified our weaknesses & executed it flawlessly on the road after playing a must win game last Sunday night.

We should have dumped Ricky when we dumped Kubiak. I think all the data points to BO'b being here a year longer than he should have.

But... maybe I'm wrong. Maybe we need 1st rounders on the OL before he can be a good OC. I'd hate to put a bunch of OL out there & see that he still can't scout the teams we face. Can't install an offensive "system" can't adjust in game.

Honestly think it's the smartest thing he's done today. Watson obviously needed to settle down. He's been off all game.

Should have been done earlier, but it is what it is.

Without that slow methodical drive we most likely not score & have even less of a chance to win this game.
I have to disagree. There was time to get back into the game and no matter how off DW4 seemed you have to speed things up for there to be any time for a real comeback. I think a faster tempo plays into DW4's hands anyway. No sense of urgency means the players don't take the situation seriously. The time to start giving a s*** when you hadn't is when you have just a little over a quarter to play. Of coarse it is not like our defense seemed to reflect that urgency so who knows.

I dont disagree with any of that. But it doesn't relate to anything I asked.

Our schedule was easier this season because we had a lousy season last year, so with a healthy Watson, we should have had a good regular season record, and we did--but we weren't dominating by a long shot, we were 'escaping' with a couple of wins. Everyone keeps saying it but it can't be said enough--we weren't as good as our record, we have weaknesses that good teams are able to exploit. Our only chance would have been a miraculous post season where everything just 'clicked'...

30-0

21-7

Win against Connor Cook

Don't even know what the **** the Patriots game was.

Doesn't matter Brian three division champions Brian.

I agree. It was smart for him to slow it down & settle Watson. He should have done it earlier.

Settle him down, get the score, then speed it up.

He should have done it sooner. He didn't. Speeding it up on that drive & that drive would have ended like all the others before it. Jmo

lol now you're playing the "moderate" role.

Lol...No its being realistic & at the begining of the season i stated this & figured we were a year away from making any noise. Factoring in that we still had o-line issues & we had a young qb that didn't even have 16 full games under his belt. Thought maybe we could win a game, but wouldn't be shocked if we didn't.

Expecting anything more than that you were setting yourself up for failure....& it looks like alot of ya'll got caught up in the hype.

We got caught up in the hype? We? Look at your post history then into a mirror dude.

Not even too sure I bring back Kareem unless we 100% keep him at safety.
Jjo should retire.
Please for the love of gawd dont even think about brining Kevin Johnson back.
Draft should go OL, OL/CB, CB/OL.
Im pulling out the check book for Le'veon.

He is not our damn GM anymore, so wtf are we still bringing him up. Again irrelevant crap, how about pointing blame on Obrien and Crennel. And we have the freaking talent unfortunately the coaching staff doesn't know how to use it.

He sucks. He isn’t anywhere near as good as his rep. I’ll take Joyner in FA over signing his tackle missing ass any day.

Then you gotta flush JJoe, KJ, Wright, Kjax, Colvin, Hal, etc, get it? They all sucked today so why is this all on Mathieu? He got let go in AZ over money not performance. The guy is still solid. You’re still going to pay in FA so what’s point?

Texans defense picked the worst time to take the Bird Box Challenge......how did RC allow this challenge happen? Oh, he was the one who challenged the defense in the first half.....ducking explains everything!!!!

I think he’ll ask for more money than he is worth. He’s not garbage but not a top flight safety either.

Indy fan here, Colts O line dominated in the first half like I thought they would but I expected more from Deshaun especially since Coutee seemed to be moving pretty well. Bill O'Brien sucks, rode Belicheats coattails to get both HC jobs but he's not a HC. We know a thing about **** head coaches having Chuck and the idiot known as Jim Caldnotwell

To be honest, I think your run at the top of the South is over with this Indy team and let's face it, it really only happened due to Luck's injuries.

Colts have a weird dominant history against KC but Majomes is a stud, should be interesting next week but they have weapons for days!

And we have the freaking talent unfortunately the coaching staff doesn't know how to use it.

Uh what? This is a good ol? Solid CBS? Could the coaches do more? Sure. But we never had the talent to make a deep run in the playoffs.

We're talking about the 2018 Texans right?

This is what some people don't understand. Settle you young QB down with some short stuff. Then go hurry up to get him into a rhythm. Another teach him how to hard count for crying out loud. That way he can see those hidden corner/safety blitzes. The damn Colts had our snap counts down to a freaking T.

But hey it was Rick Smith's fault

Playing the Dolts is like pee-fighting with skunks: You'll win some battles but lose the war. Hard to find a consolation, we can't even say we did our best. Far from it. At least we had more 1st downs than they had touchdowns.

We had a pretty good year after being 1-3 considering who the coach was. Deshaun will have a better year in 2019 and maybe we'll pick up a couple of average o-line & d-back players

I think he’ll ask for more money than he is worth. He’s not garbage but not a top flight safety either.

He’s making 10m this year, I’d offer him that and a guaranteed amount that makes sense otherwise we’ll be using a draft pick again. Otherwise we have got to revamp the CBs and be able to have Kjax and Hal at safety.

Last thing we need to add to this teetering, fragile ass house of cards is the drama whore cancer Leveon Bell.

SteelB been trying to tell people.
SteelB has valid points but I don't have the love for O'B that SteelB has. Coached properly this team can overcome many of their weaknesses and at least advance a game in the playoffs. That is just my opinion.

Also Romeo Crennel needs to turn to somebody else as DC. He has been a great DC for a long time but since he took being DC off two seasons ago before returning this season I don't think his heart is in it and that reflects on the shortcomings of the defense, especially come playoff time.

Can't install an offensive "system" can't adjust in game.

Good post. It's that the offensive system in Houston is inherently flawed, inasmuch as it's predicated on the running game, but there are very few short to intermediate routes. In other words, they want to ground the ball for short yardage, yet get chunk plays in the air.

I don't think O'Brien's "scheme" was anything that we expected when he came out of New England. The guy called plays for Tom Brady, which consisted of a lot of intermediate timing routes. Brady eats defenses up with that, and O'Brien is saying that Watson can't do the same?

I understand wanting to put your own stamp on your own team. I get that. However, when making your mark also means throwing everything else you learned from the past out of the window, that's damaging to your reputation, to the team, and to the city you represent.

This is O'Brien's fatal flaw...and this is where we sit today. I'm afraid that when/if they hand over the play calling to an OC, the OC will be limited by O'Brien's myopia.
