The paying customers play the national anthem at work?
I am,
But I'm a business guy too, winning is usually good for business. But the kneelers are bad for business even if they win on the field.
You cant do things at work that the paying customers cant do at work and not expect there to be repercussions.
The activist crowd may not like that fact, but it is what it is.
They do a lot of things at work that most customers can’t do. Like curse and spit and knock the **** out of each other.
A lot of people (not all) who have a problem with it don’t agree with the cause and it peturbs them when they see anything of the sort whether it be on the football field, outside a public place or a message board.
A lot of folks just don’t believe it’s a serious enough issue and think it’s drama or self victimization (Again, not all). So they’d just rather everyone stfu about it period.
I don't know where you work at, but I can't conduct political protests at my job.. also when I'm at work I represent my company and if I caused a bunch of negative opinions of my company that effected revenue I most certainly would be fired.
If you want them to do away with the anthem, that's fine..frankly I'm tired of the whole issue. It was just not a well thought out protest strategy/plan..it pissed off so many people that they no longer even talk about what the players were protesting. It was nothing, but divisive, but sadly that seems to be just like everything else in this country today.
Oh well, that's all I'll say about it, because this topic is a slippery slope and I don't want to derail the thread. This is just one of those topics people are never going to agree on, battle lines are already drawn and people are dug in too deep.
- Because it was never a strategized/planned protest to begin with. It was just a dude who didn't feel that the anthem was singing the song that matched up with an unfortunate part of America that he empathized with and so he just kind of passed on participating. Then people started asking questions..
- And I'm curious what percentage of the people who 'no longer even talk about what the players were protesting' ever actualy talked about what the players were in fact protesting.
They did ask.. Kaepernick and other players even gave interviews on it. And it was a protest. Silent protest, but still a protest, let's not get into the semantics of the obvious here.
It's not simple semantics. Kaepernick didn't seem to have the slightest intention on creating a large scale political protest. He merely sat out participating in the anthem and didn't speak word one about it until people caught on and started asking him what was going on.
And then he said that he was protesting, so what's your point?
That it was never 'thought out' to begin with. So on the scale of poorly or excellently thought out it just doesn't grade at all.
Well he did say after asked that he didn't care if his protest jeopardized his football career or cost him his endorsements so he at least thought that far ahead. But yeah, not a good idea from the get go.. I will give him props to sticking to his guns even if I believe they were extremely misguided and completely the wrong forum.
And with that I'm done discussing this topic in this thread/forum..I don't want to upset the powers that be.
He was already benched for Blaine Gabbert before any of this took place after showing up to camp way under his playing weight..people always forget this. If being benched for Blaine freaking Gabbert doesn't spell that the end is near than I don't know what does.![]()
I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.
Kaep sat for preseason game #3 & then kneeled for preseason game #4. Gabbert was named starter 2 days after preseason game #4.
https://www.businessinsider.com/colin-kaepernick-lost-weight-becoming-an-issue-2016-8Colin Kaepernick lost 'a ton' of weight, and it's becoming an issue
Colin Kaepernick's future in the NFL is cloudy .
Prior to Kaepernick's controversial protesting of the national anthem during a San Francisco 49ers preseason game on Friday, he was already fighting for his job.
Over the last three years, Kaepernick's on-field performance has slipped noticeably, and according to reports, his showing at training camp has been unimpressive.
After three offseason surgeries, one reason for Kaepernick's mediocre showing may be a result of his weight loss, which people around the NFL have noticed.
According to reports, Kaepernick lost weight from having to remain inactive following surgeries to his shoulder, knee, and thumb. He lost muscle mass and arrived at workouts looking unlike the sculpted, athletic quarterback who once seemed poised to take over the NFL.
Fox's Jay Glazer made note of the weight loss when reporting that Kaepernick may not even make the 49ers' roster this season (emphasis ours).
"Regardless of politics or not, he has a very, very big uphill battle to make this team. I'd be shocked if he's on the 49ers by the time this season ends. It has nothing to do with political views whatsoever. He lost a ton of weight this offseason, had three surgeries, couldn't work out, lost that double threat, that size-speed ratio . No political views, he just hasn't been effective. He's regressing as a player. I'd be shocked if he's on this roster by the end of this year. He may not be on it in the next two weeks."
My brain auto-corrected it for youSON OF A *****! That's what I corrected it to.
Y'all know what I meant!![]()
the original deal had to be revised after CB Jeremy Lane failed his physical.Returning to the topic, what do we have to show for the trade of Brown?
In the new deal, Seattle will give up a higher draft pick to account for Lane's not being included in the deal. According to the source, Seattle will get Brown and Houston's 2018 fifth-round pick in exchange for the Seahawks' 2018 third-rounder and their 2019 second-round pick.

Kaep's statement after sitting in preseason game #3 was:
You started this derailment when you said this...I could've sworn there's a Kaep thread somewhere.
For that matter what is the DB thread still doing in the TT section? Am I mistaken? DB just got an extension from the Seahawks.
Hurricane/Boat thread.
now you're complaining about a rabbit trail you started?!? LoLI am,
