Any1 else think Texas should draft another high rnd QB next draft?

Not this offseason , just don't have the assets to spare when so many other positions are in dire need of upgrade , starting with the OL which needs at least 2 and ideally 3 starters via the draft and FA .... the defensive backfield and lets not for get TE as I have my doubts as to whether those on the roster now are mentally competent next season..

Ol is my top priority again. Young qb coming off a knee injury - as a team you've got to give him every chance to succeed. Spend a 6 or a 7 on qb- that's fine. If we spend something like a 3 I'll be pissed.

No just hope that DeShaun can get healthy and just can rebuild and be the franchise QB that the team needs.

simple question, because Watson was an amazing boost to Hou this yr, if he don't come back the same after the re-injury wouldnt it b a good idea to have another elite guy in the mix?

thinking that this would b a no lose situation because if both guys turn out gr8 then u just trade one for multiples picks in the next yrs draft right?
Not at this point.
We definitely need to look at the oline both in the draft and FA.
This draft is going to be another deep one for RBs - if a good one was available with one of those 3 3rd round picks, I would be very tempted.
We have Yates and Savage as backups so I would wait until 2019 before entertaining the idea of another high draft pick on a QB. Otoh, it would not be prudent to pass on a good prospect if he was available but how often do good prospects make it out of the first round?

Yates & Savage? That borders on ridiculous

And Savage's contract is up. I can't imagine him back unless 31 teams tell him he has zero shot at starting, which may well be the case. Even then, he's so different than Watson he's not an ideal backup for us.

I'm only interested in Taylor if the Bills release him...in no way do I trade for him.

As for the areas of need you mentioned...I schemed my mock draft to cover those very needs. Sure, I went a little heavy on OL but at this point, the Texans have two so-so starters in Martin and Mancz. I think both of these guys could easily up their game with better talent on the line.

They're backups. What do you want, starter quality?
That is wasteful as well as expensive.

If Savage ever plays a down of anything other than flag football again someone needs to go to jail. And Yates has come off of his couch for the Texans, what 3 times now? No one else wants him for a reason

Let's be realistic here. TJ wasn't even a backup anymore. Only we have any interest and he only looks good in comparison to the shite that is Savage. Savage is not under contract, is a hard mosquito landing away from a concussion and his "skill" set is totally dissimilar to Watson.

My comment is still relevant to the conversation regardless of your back peddaling.

Got to be somewhere to back pedal and I said dick about OL.

TJ & Savage will not be the backups. Far more likely is neither are here. But TJ better fits backing up Watson.

For clarity, still not talking about OL.

For clarity readers, even back up QB's can be better with a better oline.
